When I first discussed having my TV cabinet and coffee table with Dave redone, I told him I wanted…read moreit stained to match my new floors. He asked lighter or darker and I said lighter if possible. I didn't ask for color samples and that was a huge mistake. I take responsibility in that. Both of my pieces had nice woodgrain but too much red in the stain and I wanted Gray/brown. He seemed very nice and polite at the time. When the TV cabinet and table were delivered I was shocked to see them "stained" to look like a solid paint color. I ended up asking him to come back and redo the coffee table so I could see the woodgrain. It was an expensive table with beautiful wood. When he came he grumbled about how good it looked and told me he would rework it at cost and do a rub on my TV cabinet to give it more texture. A few weeks later he left me a VM asking me to come to the shop to approve the table, but because of being out of town I texted him asking for pictures instead. I got an abrupt text back saying DO NOT TEXT. Call or email if you want a reply. I thought this was really rude but complied and sent an email. Didn't get a response so I sent a follow up a few days later. He sent pictures in an email and scheduled a time to bring the table back. I replied to remind him to bring the glaze he said he would do on my TV cabinet. Today he came and dropped off the table. I am not thrilled with it but said it's better. His reply "It's not what you originally asked for"... Really??? What a chump. Then I asked him about the glaze he said he would do on the TV cabinet and he said he wouldn't do it and have me some clear coat to do it myself. If you use this company DO NOT leave it up to him to decide what stain to use. Be very clear of what you want and select the color yourself. I had no idea that he would use a solid stain. I was expecting a clear tinted stain where the woodgrain showed, but in a less red color. I spent $1400 and my nice furniture looks like I painted it myself. He was rude on top of all of this even though I was very polite in my requests.
