I have been seeing Dr. G for a few years for reoccurring knee issues. I was sad in 2012 when I had to switch him out because I had to be seen quickly and I didn't want to fit him in. His back up doc was a great replacement but Dr. G has the best bedside manner and has been painfully truthfully with my diagnosis and how I can get better. Now I insist to only see him. He'll fit me in therefore I should be able to fit him into my schedule as well. I've seen him a few times already in 2013 and honestly feel so much better knowing that I'm getting the best possible care. He's honest and kind and speaks to me as if we're on the same level, as if! After such great care in 2024 for plantar fasciitis, there was no hesitation as to where to get the best PT. I returned in February with a frozen shoulder and could not have been in better care. I did go down the on-line search rabbit-hole and knew that this was going to be a long process and that can feel extremely defeating. With the inability to reach and the pain with movement, I appreciated that after a detailed overview in the initial visit, it was recognized that a big focus needed to be for me to be able to sleep through the night. As a side sleeper, I already had a month of not being able to sleep in my bed but on a couch forcing me on my back. This certainly wasn't a fast process, but we got there! Slowly I was able to do more of the things that I couldn't and had taken for granted. I can't thank Travis and Erin enough for consulting with me when I needed to decide whether to do surgery (as was suggested by my orthopedic doctor whom I had seen at a 5 week follow-up) or to continue with just PT. Their knowledge and guidance kept me on the right track. By the time I was discharged, I was not 100% but close enough that I knew that I had gained the knowledge needed to continue on my own. They also made sure to email me the most current list of stretches to work on at home. I miss the friendly 'hellos' that I would get when entering the facility and the chatting to get to know the folks who helped me. Thank you Travis, Erin, Sean and Jana! My Background: Having had 2 full knee replacements and now a hip, all at a "younger age", I have plenty of PT experience with most of the major players. Sports & Ortho - Sauganash team is a standout. Location: For me it is very accessible, nearby, street level and easy parking. It is a small location but it has all the equipment needed. Appointments and scheduling: They have both onsite staff and remote staff who support all Sports & Ortho locations and they respond extremely quickly, both to/through voice and email/website contacts. It was simple and quick to get an appointment and schedule my PT (3x per week). Hours of operation seemed odd on the website but IRL actually work well. I have never had a problem getting an appointment within my schedule. The Team: Assume this is the culture all over, but certainly the Sauganash team - therapists and the floor tech here are all extremely nice and well trained in their work. They know each and every patient by name and greet them coming/going and perhaps more importantly all of them have "eyes on" all patients regardless of whether it is their own and know any special needs, issues, things they should or shouldn't be doing or experiencing etc. They also understand how to work with /what works for you much quicker, and can customize and adjust your/my therapy sessions to provider faster and most effective progress. Everyone pitches in, the therapist talk to the patients, (not each other - unless they are collaborating about a patient). The PT/PA spends a solid 45 minutes with patients "hands-on", full attention, each and every session. I have worked with all of the PT/PAs (Travis, Erin, Deanna and even their intern Michael), every one of them is outstanding. Cam is the only floor tech I have worked with - he is a natural, very helpful, attentive and kind. In summary I can't recommend them highly enough - if there were more stars to award I would.
