Pontoon boats was never my vibe but being on the water is something we enjoy. When we got to the park to pick up the boat we were greeted by Drew on the water. He's a nice guy and very helpful. He made sure everything was set up for us to ride and we felt confident with our rental. He shared with us our options where we could ride and recommended a great spot for us to drop anchor and swim. Spent 4 hours on the water and it was awesome! We swam and just hung on the boat. The kids had a blast jumping off the back of the boat into the water. Pick up and drop off was really simple. We were a group of 10 and we all felt comfortable and had plenty of room on the boat. On our ride we saw dolphins, manatees and deer. When we dropped anchor, we saw fish and crabs on the beach. As a plus the kids enjoyed driving the boat with me. I know the memories will last forever with the kids and myself. If you never drove a boat it is simple to drive. However - we had brought a picnic lunch but there were NO picnic tables accessible out of the sun with parking nearby. We did see some tables with lovely shade but there was NO parking at all unless you parked on the grass which was forbidden. I don't know how they expected anyone to get to them unless they were out for a long walk! We finally had to eat lunch sitting in the car and that was sad considering the beautiful surrounding. They recommended staying in the Arenal/La Fortuna area for 4 nights where there are rainforests and then 3 nights near Manuel Antonio National Park which is close to the Pacific Ocean and has lovely beaches. They made all arrangements from booking the hotels, arranging all transportation to/from the airport and between locations and also booked all tours including transportation to/from the tours. The hotels they chose were outstanding, in particular Tabacon Thermal Resort and Spa which was incredibly beautiful and had amazing hot springs. The drivers of the local tour companies they chose were always on time, professional, friendly and were knowledgeable of the area. The vehicles they used were large and very comfortable and the local guides were outstanding. We had never been to Costa Rica before and therefore relied on Sunny Land tours for their recommendations and expertise to make all the arrangements. Before our vacation started, they sent a detailed itinerary for each day which was very helpful. It would have been very difficult making all the arrangements on our own so we were pleased to not have to plan, arrange or worry about the details. The other captain canceled on us via text message 30 minutes before our trip was supposed to start. We were scrambling to find a replacement last minute on a Sunday. Someone recommended Captain Mark and we are so glad they did. He responded immediately and made arrangements to take us out on VERY short notice after he heard what happened. We had such a great day on the water. His boat was very nice, his knowledge of the area was impressive, and he put us on the fish. He was friendly and personable and patient.
