My issue wasn't the $1.50. It was the principle. The menu clearly states the Mahi Tacos come with rice and black beans OR choice of sides. Broccoli is listed as a side, but there is no disclosure of any upcharge. When I requested broccoli instead of rice, I was told there would be a $1.50 charge. The manager acknowledged the charge is not listed on the menu and stated that servers are expected to inform customers of the up-charge for "premium" sides. I chose to leave without ordering. If certain sides cost extra, the menu should say so. There should NEVER be hidden charges. Transparency matters. read more

We met our friend here and it's a really cool tiki bar. The grounds when you enter is an RV park with campers and bungalows. The bar is actually in the back with a general store and the tiki as across from it. The place is big with karaoke and lots of peeps were giving it all. You can order food from the bar or go to a separate restaurant behind it. The bar is on the water so the boat launch is used often . I had to e cheeseburger which came with fries and for 12 bucks was a huge burger . Wife had a turkey wrap and she couldn't finish it but said it was good. The prices for. We were renting a cabin a few miles down the road. We drove the boat up to the dock and we were able to find a spot to tie off and walk up to the restaurant. It was a Saturday afternoon around 1:30p and we were seated right away. The hostess was very nice. Actually, all the wait staff was pleasant. We sat in the out door patio which sat up high and you could see the pond and the Tiki Bar. Also the beautiful view of Lake George. We were all happy with our food. The pulled pork sandwich, was very good. The mahi mahi tacos were delicious! The children's Cheese burger was perfect. The fries were one of a kind. I suggest the Moscow Mule ( if you plan on having a drink). The prices were decent. We even came back the next day!! read more

We visited Renegades on the River on Saturday for lunch on a weekly motorcycle ride. As always we had a great time. The weather was nice so we ate in the bar area. The menu is limited compared to the main restaurant but we all were able to pick a good meal. I had iced water and buffalo wings and the meal was good my six friends also enjoyed their meal. From a bar standpoint, Renegades on the River is definitely a cool destination. It has a great view of the St. John's River and the staff was friendly, professional and engaging. Again, this review is for my bar experience as I did not try the food. Renegades on the River is a place that gives a down-home type feel to it. The staff was friendly and the drinks were cold. The ambiance made for a great way to spend an afternoon. One of the cool things about Florida is these cool places that are right on the river. They are often very cool to hang out at and laugh and enjoy life with friends. Overall, I would definitely recommend Renegades on the River and I will give it an overall five stars. This off the beaten path hideaway is totally beautiful. There is even a small lake with a gator right outside the restaurant. There are tiki hut roofs, an interesting tv and cabin area. There is a large dock where you can fish and rent boats. Our server was very helpful. Try the thick fries - they are great. My flounder sandwich was fresh and flavorful. My husband's hamburger wasn't that exciting. The draft Yuengling was refreshing. It was a great meeting spot between Orando and Jax. read more

Located in a RV park, partially on the lake. They had live music which was great but too loud and the band vocals were not good. Parking is limited due to the restaurant layout. Lots of bikers, friendly folks, and just typical bar food. Service was slow and just bland, as if they were doing us a favor. The price for draft beer was great, just the refills were slow coming. We had the french onion soup which was hearty and good. We also had the renegade burger and it was okay, not much flavor, flat grilled patty with straw onions, bacon and bbq sauce. Come to this place yearly. Stayed in rv park for almost a month -- very clean and well run facility. One of our favorites is their pizza! Food at restaurant is very good. Enjoy the tiki bar! Have stayed in cabins prior years and always very clean but no longer since we bought our new fifth wheel. Highly recommend. This place is not near much so do food shopping before getting here if you rv. Dollar general is close by though if you need anything. read more

upon arriving the wait was a little long being a waitress 2 tables on each side of us , one being seat after us got their drinks and orders in before our waitress came, then she got my drink wrong and had to go change it , no smile, no apology, no personality at all! once our order was put in my wife looked at the time, the other 2 tables got their food and we are still waiting! 35 minutes, no food and the worst no waitress returning to check on us, the other girl checked on her table twice while also working the deck and ours never showed to check our drinks or to let us know our food was taking a little longer We got up and walked out at the 40 minute mark, very, very frustrating and uncalled for !! read more

Folks, pay attention to the bad reviews. They all sound just like our experience! 35 minutes after being seated, the waitress decided to take the food & drink orders at once. So that made it take much longer just to get a glass of water. We had to get our water out of the car just so I could take meds. We clocked it, It took 48 minutes to get our water (Now I realize we should have left after 20). Someone got the OUTLAW ONION appetizer. The waitress said the bowl was hot but not in time. Someone tried to move it & burned himself (it wasn't on another cooler plate like it should have been) & spilled his beer & drink. The waitress brought a towel to clean up the spills but left behind a bunch of liquid & we had nothing to dry the table. No replacement drinks were offered. It took a full 80 minutes to get our food. It was a holiday, so i understand the food taking a while, but the water? No excuse! There were also no apologies from our waitress. She knew she was getting her automatic 20% tip since we were a group of 10. So now we finally have food, but no silverware, which we had to ask for. One person from our group was handed a bunch of wet forks (i guess be glad they were clean) to be distributed by ourselves. The food, which i no longer felt like eating because it was baking hot inside, was bland & overcooked. Literally every dish was a disaster! I got blackened CHICKEN ALFREDO. There is no way that chicken was blackened. I had to salt & pepper my food 3 times to try to liven it up. The GROUPER was rubbery (sent back), the CRAB CAKES weren't fit for eating (literally took 1 bite), the TURKEY WRAP was gross, the WINGS tasted like they were thawed out & bbq dumped on top, the SHRIMP was overcooked (same as last visit a month ago), the STEAK was sent back (had zero seasoning), the MARGARITA was only the mix & zero alcohol could be detected. Our friends took what wasn't sent back to thier chickens. Poor chickens i say! For our family of 3, we spent $70 (with no alcoholic drinks, 2 free waters, & 1 soda)! Boy were we suckers. Our table paid over $250 for what we all literally said was the WORST DINING OUT EXPERIENCE EVER! Still no apologies from the waitress, she seemed like she couldn't care less. I asked for the manager on our way out. Even though she was "nice" & finally there was an apology, i was told there was nothing she could do because we didn't get her before. Well, that's not true, we were still there, she could have done something if she wanted to, for sure. She said she hoped we would try again when it wasn't a holiday. Hmmm. Why be open & charge so much money if you don't have good service or food on a holiday? The thing is, this isn't the 1st time we've had bad service & food there, but we try to give another chance. But we will not be making the Renegades mistake again, i promise you that. read more

This place was suggested by many people that vacation and live in the area so I had a great feeling at first. It was a 30 minute wait to be seated, completely fine since the bike week crowd was heavy. The area was beautiful and we got to see the outdoor tiki area. There's was a great band with some classic music. We were seated outdoors and the view was beautiful. We ordered drinks and cheese curds that came out quickly. This is where it went south. The waitress was attentive but after an hour's wait, a different employee noticed we were still seated. He asked about our food and was fairly shocked when we said we didn't get our order. The burger looked good and there were a lot of onion straws. The burger was in lieu of the special that ran out and the onion straws arrived after the burger. The alfredo sauce was very good but the pasta was an odd shape and garlic toast was brought out well after the pasta. I really wanted to love this place and I'll definitely be back. After tip the bill was almost $100. Haven't been back here since 2021 because it was pretty bad. So needless to say "We won't be returning unless it's under new ownership and new cooks" . read more

The marina is also easy to access with ample dockage, ramp & boat rentals. The restaurant is also decent but the service & the food leave a lot to be desired. It took 15 minutes just to get a drink. My wife and I, locals have eaten at this restaurant three times. The first time was with a wonderful black couple as our guests. Second time was by ourselves, and the last time was with two other black couples. Note: No other black people in restaurant at any time we visited. When we visited by ourselves, service was good and food was ok. When accompanied by our black friends, both times we were treated badly, poor service, cold meals, long waits while other tables were served first who arrived much later than us. The last time (I mean the very last time!), it took 25 min. to get water, then another 25 min to get our order taken, and another 45+ min to get our food! It took us a total of almost 3 hours in the restaurant that day. Could there by RACISM involved? It seemed that 80 percent of the people at the Tiki bar and restaurant were white bikers. It was apparent that blacks and those who associate with them are discriminated against!! Nice redneck biker bar though. Not for everyone unfortunately! read more

Excellent motorcycle ride destination. Beautiful view of the river on the deck. Cold beer and full bar to quench your thirst from the ride. Your choice of tikki bar or full restaurant. We stopped at the restaurant. Started with the bowl of clam chowder. It was rich and creamy, loaded with clams and potatoes. It finished with a bit of Tabasco heat. The catfish platter boasted crispy catfish fillets fried to perfection. The sides of baked potato and macaroni and cheese were average. The potato was hot and fresh but the Mac and cheese was nothing special. Service was efficient and friendly from start to end. All in all, a good experience. Worth the trip. read more
