Chose this florist based on good reviews. Ordered two bouquets well in advance for our daughter's college college graduation. Discussed with the florist that we wanted different bouquets for two events for the same person, and that it was important that the flowers not be ones that were poisonous to cats, and named several flowers I knew to avoid. All sounded good, I was promised two beautiful bouquets, and agreed to pay $150. Went to pick them up today on arrival in town, and both bouquets were identical, but more importantly filled with lilies and carnations, two extremely toxic-to-cats flowers I'd specifically asked to avoid. I gave them time to rework the bouquets, and arrived to pick them up. They're fine - still pretty much identical and not as full as they were initially, but fine. I asked [a different staff member was there this time] if they could wrap the bottom of the stems as they had been originally to protect them until I could get them in water. I was told I'd have to pay additional for that. Just not a great experience overall. I expected that notes were taken during my initial call that would translate to whom ever assembled the bouquets, and I also would have expected a little special care after the mistake. I could have done as well at a good supermarket for a lot less, and gotten a plastic sheet for the bouquet there for free. read more

Excellent experience! Flowers were beautiful, delivery smooth, the basin is really pretty my wife loved them! Thank you! Only feedback is that I would have like to get a notification in real time -ish when the flowers were delivered. I mean the delivery person followed the instructions and left them in the right place but we saw them by chance because the "delivered" notification got to me hours (and I mean the flowers were delivered around 9-10am and I got the email at 3-4pm) later. So if we wouldn't have seen them I'd have been worried, anyways really nice flowers and I will be ordering for here in the future for sure. read more

I used Alex Waldbart florist for my daughters July wedding. To say that the flowers were amazing would be an understatement. Claire Waldbart Kramer was my florist and Her work exceeded my wildest expectations. Working from our mood board and Pinterest, Claire completely captured exactly the design we were looking for. Too many guests to count commented on how gorgeous the flowers were. She decorated both the outside of the venue as well as the inside and the whole look was spectacular. She was also respectful of our budget and was able to execute the design at a reasonable cost. I can't recommend Waldbart florist enough and I would give them more than five stars if that was possible. read more

My review is based on ease of process and reliability. I can only give 4 stars right now, as I did not see the finished product (they were for a funeral out of state that I didn't attend). However, they delivered the flowers as promised, and the ordering process was very simple. They also created and delivered during the big floral event, Valentine's Day. Even during the busiest time for them and with very little lead time, they got the job done. I've been burned and disappointed by florists in the past when I used online floral networks, so I have major concerns about arrangement quality and no delivery of goods. However, this florist performed as expected: created and delivered my order on time, and most importantly on a tight time frame. I ordered 3 dozen roses to deliver to my wife for our 3rd anniversary and Alex Waldbert Florist delivered the amazing arrangement pictured. Every woman in her office dropped by to visit and she was thrilled by the delivery. Unfortunately my wife tested me the picture on the right. I emailed picture to Claire asking if they got my order right (I could not figure out how to ask my wife if it was 36) and she quickly sent it to her design team, who quickly called me. Even though they were confident they had put 36 roses in vase, they did decide to make another vase and deliver replacement that afternoon. By every standard excellent customer service!! Nope. Boo. Rude. I placed an order online that was confirmed as a same day delivery. I called to explain that I wanted to correct a typo on the card and Adam had an attitude the minute he answered. He had even more attitude when he found out that the flowers were going to a business and said they weren't doing anymore business deliveries for the day and that it would be delivered tomorrow. Very matter of fact. Um...wait....nooooooo, If i wanted them to go out tomorrow, then i would have placed the order for tomorrow. After making it very clear that he was firm on his stance of no more business deliveries for the rest of the day by cutting me off and trying to rush me off the phone every time I said "but", "so could you," "would it be possible if," I asked for a refund since they couldn't fulfill my request. He was perturbed, placed me on hold, then got back on the phone like I was an inconvenience for asking for my $100 back and did a "mm. Hm." as a good bye and hung up. LOL. I have to say, I've only been here one time and of course it was on Valentine's Day. Not really my sole purpose for going, but it didn't hurt. I really liked the feel for the place. First, I like that it's a local place and I could actually get some help. I spoke with Tony; he was very helpful. I recently finished a renovation on my house and needed some advice for adding some nice color and scents to the place. I don't particularly have a green thumb, but I do have a fair understanding of plants, etc. Of course, they were as busy as a place could be since it was Valentine's Day. However, Tony was very helpful and took the time to discuss my issues and helped me pick out a nice plant/flower for the fiancee since I couldn't go and come home without anything special. OH MY GOSH - DO NOT GO HERE. I don't know what is the staff's problem - but they are incredibly sour people to be working with flowers all day - if that was my job, I would think that I would be a little more friendly. I wanted to order flowers for my mother's birthday and had seen this shop many times driving up Clayton Road - I try my best to support local businesses so thought I would be doing a good service by choosing this instead of Walter Knoll (who I will be utilizing from now on). Not only is this florist ridiculously overpriced, but their selection is severely lacking. Most of their arrangements look wilted and poorly cared for - I asked if there were perhaps some hydrangeas that were a little... fresher - the man who was helping me couldn't have cared a bit - he just said no and acted like I was a giant inconvenience. I wanted this to be a fun experience, looking at new ideas and getting some helpful hints - I received none of these things. After realizing that my total would be over $70 for a ridiculously pathetic bunch of wilted dying flowers, I decided to just walk out. They didn't even act like they cared that they were losing the business... Atrocious service, incredibly bad attitude and poor selection - I wouldn't give them a dime, if they don't really even care about earning my business. read more

I received a bouquet of roses from this florist for Valentine's Day this year as a gift from my father and they were beautiful. The flowers were delivered on time and were perfectly arranged. Unfortunately, the good stopped there. The arrangement was supposed to have 12 roses but there were only 10 in the vase. To make matters worse, it has only been 3 days since I got the arrangement, and 4/10 roses have completely fallen over and are starting to die. I followed the instructions on the "flower food" packet and have made sure there is plenty of water. I received different roses on the same day from another shop that cost half as much and haven't shown any signs of decay. Roses should typically last up to a week with proper care and in less than 72 hours Alex Waldbart's are already dying. Maybe I was unlucky and got a bad batch. Maybe the flowers used are lower quality. I'm not sure... On a positive note, the person who actually arranged the flowers did a wonderful job. read more

I walked in at 5:25, desperate for a flower arrangement for a birthday dinner I had that evening. Despite the fact that the store closes at 5:30, the man behind the counter immediately offered to make me up a custom arrangement on the spot and place it in a vase while I waited. No attitude, no complaints, no nothing--just excellent customer service. And the arrangement was beautiful. I wouldn't recommend it, first time in and I was asked how much I wanted to spend instead of being being given options with different price points. Then I was offered a cheap flower with filler, if that's what I wanted I would have said I wanted to spend $10--actually I would have gone to Schnucks. Needless to say I felt like he was trying to take advantage and he wasn't all that helpful. If you just want a bouquet go to Schnucks is just east of this store--they'll make up one for ya, you don't have to pick the pre-packaged ones. read more

Unfortunately, the flowers started dying the next day. I called Alex Waldbart Florist and expressed my concerns and dissatisfaction. Without pushback, the person I was talking to offered to fix the problem by replacing the flowers. As promised, I received a new bouquet the next business day. What a great help and great choice selection these guys have in the store. I sought out a much needed Valentine's Day bouquet and decided to go with a local place near me rather than a Schnuck's or Dierbergs..... Great decision. There are gifts a plenty and as you step in (even on Valentine's day) someone if not multiple people ask you what exactly you are looking for and the price that you are looking to spend so that they can cater to your needs. After I told him the $$ amount I was looking to spend and 5 minutes of prepping, I was ready to conquer the world with a bouquet worthy of royalty, especially for what I paid. Best thing about the visit..... I inquired about a bag of rose petals and 60 seconds and a visit to the flower cooler later there was a bag full FREE of charge. What more could I ask for? These people understand that there is a Walgreen and Schunck's a quarter mile away and that service speaks volumes to guys. I'll definitely be going back next year and the next time I make a complete ass out of myself the night prior. read more
