At 9am My husband and I were at dunkin donuts when we saw a man with a barber kind of shirt on. My husband needed a haircut asap and he has never strayed from his barber since he was 16. But due to the situation we were in, we needed his hair cut asap and his barber didn't open until 11. We followed the man into the shop. Later on we connected it was the owner Alex. The shop is actually quite big and very clean. I felt fine and comfortable being the only girl in the shop. The guys were very respectful. My husband is sooooo particular. But, he told Alex that was it, he was a returning customer after the hot shave on the back of his neck. He says that's a sign the place is old school and good :) Alex was so careful and not one hair was out of place. The shape up was perfect. You can't beat experience really. I don't care how skilled you are, if you take five minutes to cut a guy's hair it's gonna look like it took five minutes. And the only thing this guy is skilled at is talking too much. I should've known when the place was empty at 5pm during the first week of school. Never again. read more

Stopped in for a haircut and nothing special. For the price they could have provided more attention, if I wanted a cheaper haircut and better service I should have gone to SportClips. Also they fail to tell you that you are getting hot with a surcharge on the credit card. Was not impressed. read more

I've been going to Alex's Barber Shop for years now, and have always had a great experience, Israel and David do a great great job. I've been going to Alex's for years now, and will continue to go. The guys here are great, they do exactly what you like and will advise you also if you need. They do nice full face shaves as well that are rally nice. The prices are good, and they do kids. Its just a great neighborhood barebershop that everyone in town should try. A shave with a straight razor and barbers who take the time to make sure you look good! They even neaten you up in ways like shaving your neck! The current price of $17 for a haircut shouldn't be a detergent if you care how you look!! read more

It's crowded for a reason. Alex does a great job for me, no easy feat, and the staff overall is good, experienced and friendly. There is ample room to wait, including a wide screen TV (!) and they service everyone from toddlers to people who don't have much foliage. read more

Alex is an artist with hair! He loves his craft and it showe. I never thought I would have a "luxurious" haircut, but Alex used hot shaving cream for my neck, and before giving it a final dry, he left a hit most towel on my hair to condition it and it felt great! Worst haircut I ever got in my life. Literally butchered my hair and left me all uneven. I will for sure never return here and I highly recommend you avoid this place at all costs. I went to the guy in the 3rd chair from the window, bald guy. I guess avoid him if you go, can't say the same for the other barbers. read more

Alex barber shop has very good barbers, who can provide great service. My husband is a great fan of a big guy in the last chair, this barber is so skilled and knows how to please his customers, he even gives facials after he shaves his clients. I strongly recommend this barber shop. read more

Been using Alex's since it first opened. Him, David and Nat are the best in the area. They are super friendly, the place is clean and you can't ask for a better cut. The cherry on top is the hot shaving cream and straight razor treatment for the back of the neck. Good luck finding that kind of care or treatment elsewhere. The barber didn't listen and/or care to follow my simple description of my haircut style and went about doing what he's done for his 30+ years cutting hair. I moved more than 40 minutes away from them and still drive to them regularly to get my hair cut and shaved. Nobody else in Westchester is as skilled or friendly as these guys are. And it doesn't hurt that their prices are actually really fair. I have paid more at other places for haircuts which were not nearly as good. That is why I keep coming back! I like these guys. They do a good job every time and the price is right. The shop is kept nice and clean even with all the hair tumbling off heads.
