I usually do not write reviews, but Kevin at Alfa Granite definitely has caused me to make others aware that they should avoid Alfa Granite as once they get your money, they could care lees about following up on anything.
I purchased new counter tops in mid December. The sale went fine, and I was told that they would be out to measure in the next couple of weeks. About 10 days later I received a text from Kevin stating that they would be out to measure that day about 5pm. No heads up, I had plans to go out a 6pm so I went with it. No one shows up until 9:10pm. Needless to say I canceled my date as Io was waiting for them. I still went with it. BIG WARNING. With todays technology I should have been worried that they did not laser measure the counter, they just a tape measure and paper. (This would get me as the counter was not square and off by almost 2 inches once installed).
About 8 days later I get a text from Kevin that they were coming to install the counter. Again no heads up, and again I accommodated them. About 6pm the installers show up and began installation. Kevin called to ask me how many people were there. I said three. He mentioned that there should have been 4, and that one of "his guys" must have bailed. I let them do their thing. The new counter was installed, I mentioned that they did not install the window sill that I had paid for. They said they did not have a saw to install. The installers spoke little English but basically told me I would need to take it up with Kevin. Kevin called me soon after wanting payment. I asked Kevin about the issue and he he would take care of it. I did make payment to him believing he would follow up and make it right. Mistake on my part. I should have held payment.
This is where it gets really bad, and I was amazed at the lack of customer service and follow up by Kevin. I called three times in the next month asking for Kevin to call me back. Finally after about 3 weeks I get a text from Kevin asking what I needed. I responded that I would like a call. He said he prefers text. I again asked for a call. He said due to a disability he could not talk on the phone. I responded that he had no issue talking on the phone to take my payment. That is when things went even further south. Kevin called me rude and to not contact him again. He sent texts saying I was unreasonable and made fun of him. I simple stated that I wanted a call to discuss what needed to be finished, and other issues I had found. I have called Alfa granite a couple of days later and Kevin answered the phone. He had no issues talking to me. He told me he was busy and would follow up next week. A week later I call again and Kevin says he would follow up later that week. I said that I wanted to talk now but Kevin did not want to do that. He sent some texts calling me mean again, and not to contact him, that I was bothering his mental state. Seriously? Are we children? I simply just wanted to discuss my issues and come up with a reasonable solution. I had found a few other problems. Areas were not sealed properly, there were blemishes in spots, I had a chip in the counter, and the overhang on the left side is 1.5 inches and the right side is almost 3 inches. Hence use a laser counter measure.
As of now there has been no solution, and no contact from the owner. Each time I call Kevin answers the phone and will not put me into contact with her. She has not called me, and honestly I am not sure Kevin has told her. I will be stopping in the store to try and meet with her and also contacting the BBB. I have been in sales many years, and never dealt with someone like Kevin. Once he gets your money does not want to follow up. Outside of the initial sale Alfa Granite has been unprofessional in every way. Pay a little more and go with a reputable company. Kevin and Alfa forget who the customer is. read more
