They did not take the time to properly review or research patient history, and concerns were often dismissed instead of being addressed. If you have serious or ongoing health issues, I highly recommend going directly to UC San Diego Health or another established healthcare provider that actually listens to patients and provides consistent follow-up care.

I was fortunate enough to meet Dr. Angell at the Vandever office, when I placed a weekend appointment with urgent care (unfortunately, kaiser doesn't take appointments for urgent care anymore, but that's a whole other story, lol). Dr. Angell entered the exam room, and the first thing he did was apologize for the wait, but honestly it's the weekend, and it IS urgent care, so wait times are expected. The whole appointment, start to finish, was fantastic. Dr. Angell was professional, patient, and explained everything well. He had a very calm demeanor, which I liked, but didn't rush thru the appointment either, which I also liked. He's personable, and down to earth as well. Thanks for the awesome visit! I had read reviews about Dr. Mara that weren't so positive, but I decided to give her a chance. Here are my reasons for the rating: #1- Uninterested. First appointment was ridiculously slow. They had made me check in, but made me wait for 45 minutes to be seen. I was hoping to see Dr. Mara herself... but I wasn't given a notice that a male doctor would attend to me. #2- Unreliable. During my visit, I was asked the same series of questions probably 3 times... All my answers were written down, but still, they repeated the questions. There was a computer the doctor had in front of him to take notes, but he preferred to hand-write everything down. He was thorough in note-taking! That's a positive! (1st star ) #3- Unsanitary. I noticed snacks in the exam room. SNACKS! The medical posters on the wall look like they've been there for decade. And there were books all over the table. The equipment was definitely old. It did not make me feel comfortable at all! Sorry... #4- Unorganized. I was told I would receive a phone call from them saying that they'd referred me to a specialist (related to my concern). They said that they'll call within 7 days, and if they didn't call, they advised me to call them. Sure enough, they hadn't called me within 7 days, so I called them. I got my answers, at least. (2nd star ) What's funny is that I got a call A MONTH LATER saying they found a specialist for me. If you can, find a doctor somewhere else. I sure DID NOT FEEL CARED FOR as a patient here.

She has problems concentrating or something. Visits were always short, she would check your kid and usher you out. She wasn't really into answering questions. In doing a search of her name I saw that someone back in June of 2016 wrote a review on another site about her and they also mentioned her tardiness! Unbelievable that Kaiser lets her get away with this unprofessional behavior, they must not know. She's giving Kaiser Permanente a bad image.

Dear AFC Urgent Care,…read more On July 8, 2026, at 7:15 pm, I scheduled an appointment with Urgent Care for my husband, who had been ill for approximately one week with flu symptoms, including cough, congestion, headache, body aches, and episodes of sweating. The nurse or medical assistant--I'm not sure of his title since he didn't inform us--took my husband's vital signs without wearing a mask and was seen coughing into his hand. Additionally, he did not wash his hands before or after taking my husband's vital signs. My husband's vital signs were normal. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) examined my husband's ears, throat, and chest. She acknowledged his reported symptoms but did not report any concerns after completing her physical assessment and interview. She did not order or perform a nasal swab, draw blood, collect a urine sample, or conduct a chest X-ray. Instead, she performed an EKG, which was reported as normal. Unfortunately, my husband did not receive a diagnosis or prescription. He was advised to go to the emergency room for blood work and a chest X-ray. We believe that the care he received was inadequate and that the EKG was unnecessary. I had informed the NP that my husband had recently undergone a full workup with a cardiologist, which revealed no concerns. Additionally, my husband informed the NP that he had not and was not experiencing any chest pain.

I went here ( sunday) for having blood in urine so they did urine test and lab work. The person who…read moretook my blood started on my hand( dorsal) even though i have nice vein in my arm(ACF) i told him i went to phlebotomy school and my arm has a easy vein. So i still let him blood on my hand and it really hurts i told him to remove it. And decided to go arm its an easy vein and still no blood coming out and his hands are really shaking. Another employee went ti get blood. Decided to go hand. It hurts alot but with blood now, the way rmove the needle hurts it catched my skin. The results they told me were normal. Take note: The way how they tie the rubber or tourniquet during blood work is very wrong. He tied it like a ribbon not the correct way like quick release. I am phlebotomist and its not suppose to be like that. When i got home i called and asked to send me the results. And they said results comes out in 1 day or more. Just wondering where did they get the answer to diagnose that everything is normal? But i decided to go to ER ( tuesday) urine test is abnormal, lots of blood work results are high and low. In short this clinic doesnt seem like have an accurate results. And incompetent employees. Im completely not satisfied on my visit here i should have just went to ER and not waste my time here.
