The doctor who provided me a second opinion, confirmed this diagnosis, but referred me to Dr. Kaushik. Dr. Kaushik studied my shoulder under ultrasound since an MRI can't be done due to my metal implants. He identified a tear in my rotator cuff tendon that had been missed by the other doctorss. He then injected me to fix the tear. After 2 days, I was free of pain - I went from 5 doses of Panadol daily to zero. Now, thanks to Dr. Kaushik, I'm fine! I have good strength, range of motion, and am pain free.

Shame we lost. PS: the boys.") I got referred here from the physiotherapy biz next door for an MRI on my shoulder. When I'd called to make the appointment they'd advised me that with a reference from a sports physiotherapist I was entitled to no rebate. Fair enough, forewarned is forearmed. But when I turned up a different girl told me that if I'd brought a referral from a sports *physician* I COULD have got a rebate. Great. If I'd known that a week ago I would have got one. Here, take my money. Appointment was at 9, sat patiently til 10am listening the the receptionists talk about how many bourbons you're allowed on a Jeststar flight to Queensland, which annoyed the pants off me considering they'd just cost me a whole bunch of dough. To be fair, it must suck that everyone can hear your gossip if you're a receptionist, but still. Little things. Once I was out back it was a different story, and the professionalism shown by the licensed medical practitioners here was exemplary. Getting an MRI is pretty disconcerting what with the big alien machine and the weird noises and the claustrophobia etc, but the dude running it was super efficient. And then the radiologist who looked at my scans, Dr Linklater, was everything you wanted in a doctor - reassuring, patient, informative, with a sense of humour. Just wish he'd given me better news! Surgery here we come. Damn.

Guess when it's less than a week from Xmas, places like this could be slow! This location is great. Kiaora Place has covered parking, first hour free(!), and is steps away from the spanking brand new library,lots of cafes, shops and, of course, a huge Woolworth's! Medscan is on the top floor near the library. Medscan is beautiful and very clean. The staff are very accommodating and so friendly! Like, I almost want to go there just to hang out! They asked when I was free to come in, I said I'm 10 minutes away, is there any chance I could come in now? They helpfully said they could probably squeeze me in. I got there quick smart, and they did indeed fit me in. That meant I didn't have to book another appointment, and didn't have to take any more time off work. Nice!

I couldn't decide on whether to give this place 2 stars or 3…read more I'm going with 2 because they have 3 receptionists and the place still moves at a snails pace and they forget to tell the waiting people if there are delays with equipment and appointments. Granted I walked in off the street to just get a few x-rays of my shoulder. I didn't wait very long and the lady that actually took the x-rays was rather rude and abrupt. Told me off for my tragus ring that didn't come off and how young people these days go and get piercings without thinking. Yeah thanks. Just take the damn x-ray huh? If that was all it would have been great. However she then proceeded to manhandle me into the right "pose". As in jerking me around. I was not impressed. She proceeded to them tell me she was sorry for jerking me around into positions but how else is she meant to get the right shot? Uh, here's an idea, how about you know, asking me like normal people do?! Unfortunately this is the only imaging place locally so you just go get your stuff done and leave again.

Kind clear pleasant concise direction by the technician is always good. No appointment is required and they bulk bill. I was told X-ray prints would be available in 5 mins but they didn't come through for 25 mins after shots were taken so make sure you ask them to check if your scan is ready if you're waiting longer than 10 mins. Nice 50" HD TVS to watch while waiting. WARNING: street parking only so pray to the parking gods for mercy or catch the train. Campsie train station is extremely close.
