We came back after 7:30pm and they had their lights on so we went in to get a table and were seated immediately. The initial menu that the waitress gave us was in Portuguese, so we asked if she had a menu in English and she brought us one. There was a tourist menu for 15 euros per person which came with soup, chicken with fries, a drink (choice of bottled water, wine, beer, or soda), and coffee. We went for that since we both felt like having chicken instead of the seafood and beef that we have had in the past 6 days. Everything was very good and you really couldn't beat that price for a good meal!

We felt welcome and free to stay as long as we wanted (about 2hrs). We had 2 entrees, 1 liter of house red, "Água com gas", a desert and cafe. All delicious. Very affordable, good service. Prices are good, it's right in the center of town. Parking is free from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m.; parking spots are right across the street from the hotel. The mercado is only a couple blocks away, as is a vegetarian restaurant. The regional museum is a couple blocks in the opposite direction. Beja is a small town with most everything in walking distance, but there's still lots to see and do here.
