We pay almost $3,000 for a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment. When we moved in the middle of June, our air conditioning didn't work and wasn't fixed for 5 days. We were offered a window AC unit temporarily, which would have been great, besides the fact that our one window doesn't even open! We were promised our apartment would have a yard but all it has is a small concrete slab that's gated in. All 4 of our stove knobs didn't work and had to be replaced. I spent 2 full days cleaning the apartment as the apartment hadn't been cleaned in between the last renter. The toilet was also clogged so I couldn't use the bathroom after a full day of moving. We had a maintenance worker enter our apartment without permission or notice while my boyfriend was sleeping. The maintenance worker left small copper wire and rubber wire clippings all over our floor (we have 2 kittens). We were essentially forced to put a "do not enter" sign on our door to ensure we'd be legally covered if it happened again. We were getting charged monthly for "pet rent" when emotional support animal documentation was provided before we moved in. I had to file several complaints and call almost every day to have them silence a fire panel alarm that was beeping outside our door for around 2 weeks. We also had our closet ceiling leaking due to the upstairs neighbor's AC unit freezing and overflowing. The walls are PAPER thin. We are kept up almost every night by hearing every footsteps our upstairs neighbor takes. Every hour of the night you can name, we have been woken up by neighbors stomping due to horrible building plans and materials. The floorboards are buckling and uneven. I filled around 4 full vacuums full of pet hair from the bedroom rug after we moved in. The hallways always smell like dog urine and very rarely get cleaned. We were excited for the pool but we refuse to step foot in it as it's filthy and crowded with children. This place very obviously cares more about their tax breaks than being hospitable to hard working people paying the full price. There is a homeless camp located in the woods behind building 4. There are constantly sketchy people loitering in the parking lots. The mail room gets left unlocked 24 hours a day even though they claim it gets locked after office hours are over. I have freely entered the mailroom at 11:30pm before without needing to key myself in. We have had an insect problem and are killing centipedes and beetles constantly. The trash compactor is FOUL and is the only one available for 5 large apartment buildings to the point that it overflows to the parking lot. There are very minimal cameras around the complex if you're concerned about security. I am writing this review because we are so fed up with the issues we have had within the past 3 months, YES ONLY 3 MONTHS. We arrived home today to our air conditioning not working again but were told it didn't qualify for an emergency maintenance request because the outside temperature isn't 82 degrees or above. If you are hard working individuals and value your money, peace and quiet, security and sanity, DO NOT MOVE HERE. Several of these issues violations of housing laws and our lease contract, if you live here and have had similar issues, I highly suggest you study up on MA housing laws and start documenting the issues you're having.

Wonzel in the office is amazing and was the only person to accept our pit mix. He also kept us informed as we were moving across states and welcomed us with open arms. Thank you to all of the office and maintenance staff that continue to work hard so the residence feel at home!

The Summit looks like a nice place to live, but it is not a safe place to live. Do not bring your…read morefamily here, especially if you have children. You could end up living next door to insane people who scream and throw things around their apartment all day, and they will do absolutely nothing about it. This happened to us. They allowed someone who had been convicted of armed robbery to live with his mother next door to us for almost a year. We did not feel safe living there and I had extreme anxiety and heart palpitations listening to our psychopath neighbor screaming at his mother all day. Multiple people complained multiple times. Instead of addressing the situation, The Summit told us to call the police. Their rents are absolutely ridiculous, and they increased their prices enormously over the course of the pandemic. We moved in September 2019, when The Summit was called Mayflower Townhomes, and paid $1,670/mo for a 1 bedroom apartment. When we left in October 2021, the 1 bedroom rent was $2,100/mo. We ended up needing to stay an extra month at the end of our lease and they charged us $2,333 for that extra month. Shameful and disgusting behavior. The laundry room is a nightmare. They do not have reliable, functioning laundry facilities. If a machine breaks, the residents have to call and get it fixed themselves. Nobody monitors their stuff in the machines, so they're always either full or broken. People put dirty diapers in them. There's only two laundry facilities for the entire place. Very few of our fellow residents wore masks inside the laundry facility during the pandemic despite several signs in the laundry facility. If you have more than one car, you have to park the extra car on the road. You only get one parking pass, and can only park that car in the parking lots. This is understandable. However, what is not understandable is that several people consistently park diagonally in the parking lots, taking up multiple spaces, and they do nothing about that, but they are happy to threaten to tow an untagged car in a parking lot on your first offense, even if that parking lot is almost empty. If you're going to enforce rules, do it across the board. There is supposed to be no smoking in the apartments, but our apartment was constantly filled with cigarette smoke smells from the apartment under us. You cannot open your windows and enjoy the warm months because of this. There are two good things about The Summit - the location is great, and they are one of the only apartment complexes that does not discriminate against large dog breeds. These are the two reasons my husband and I ended up here. We have since moved to Vermont where housing is actually affordable. I regret moving into The Summit.

DEFINITION OF A SANCTUARY: ROWEN AT THE PINEHILLS - THANK YOU, JOE FITZGIBBON, CHIEF ENGINEER…read more A large part of what makes living at the Rowen so heavenly is the superlative Maintenance Crew who keep the premises looking pristine, day-in, day-out, even nine months after officially welcoming new residents. At this time, I'd like to send a huge thank you to Chief Maintenance Engineer and Supervisor JOE FITZGIBBON who oversaw the correction of what I considered to be a significant construction issue in my new apartment right before I moved in (the bathroom and closet doors in one of the bedrooms had been hung incorrectly by the third-party construction crew, such that both doors swung into the room, cutting off significant floor space). I thought it sounded like a relatively easy fix, but I learned after-the-fact that it involved calling back in the construction crew, reframing both doors, and retiling a small portion of the bathroom floor. Yikes! I was initially told nothing could be done (construction finished), but Joe took inordinate steps to see that the issue was corrected to allow me much-needed space in the bedroom for my furnishings. He also went the extra mile with concierge-level service after I moved in by stopping by to welcome me to the community and to conduct another walk-through of the apartment to ensure everything was up to my liking. Thank you so much, Joe, for stepping in on my behalf, working your magic, and "getting 'er done!" despite the odds. It's your construction/engineering expertise, diligence, and most importantly your focus on the happiness, comfort and safety of residents, that keep the Rowen running like a beautiful Swiss clock. Kudos to you, Chris Anthony and your entire very friendly and very capable team! - Christina England

Even with the "growing pains" any new building would expect to have, the staff and management have kept our comfort and well-being paramount to anything else going on. I have found Christine, Jackie, Will and Joe to be very welcoming, helpful and supportive as I and the others began to adjust to our new home. I feel sure that my husband and I will be happy here for years to come. The whole place is so gorgeous and it is nestled perfectly into the village of PineHills that has everything you could possibly need. I highly recommend the Rowen if you are thinking about it. I've lived here for 2 years and while the first year was good, we have experienced issues like this one after another over the last 6 months. I'd encourage you to ask other residents and they'll confirm the same issues with JMC & Co, the management company. Example 2: The grills have been out of service for 4 months (April 17 - today). Ask yourself how any management company would let this happen? Example 3: JMC & Co has cut costs by eliminating the promised on-site emergency maintenance personnel. Instead they have one individual on call for properties located between Boston, Plymouth, and Providence. If you're locked out at 10pm and are second in line you'll be waiting hours to be let back into your apartment. This happens regularly. Don't rent here until you get something in writing in your lease about hot water downtime and on site emergency personnel. The prices are way too high for what you get. You are much better off at the Pinehills in any one of their properties. Hope this helps someone. Sean
