Lets be honest, marriage counseling, for me anyway, was the last resort. If I could describe what was going on in my home it would be this. I had my foot on the gas pedal pressing as hard as it would go and then it hit a point where I was pushing as hard as I could and over a two and a half year period I started taking my foot off the gas and the car (marriage) just stopped. How can you keep pushing as hard as you can and go nowhere? I really liked Lori as a therapist. She is extremely fair. She does not choose sides at all. She will analyze both sides and give you the truest honest opinion you can hear. Yes, she even gave me the hard stuff that I wasn't able to admit out loud to myself. Its messed up and hard to be honest with yourself and she will give it to you straight. My marriage was done by the time we came to see Lori. I honestly wish I had found her three years ago. So I will say don't wait, done hesitate on marriage concealing if you are fully invested in your relationship. Mine was too late and there was no change and the other person in this partnership was not ready to do the work that maybe we could have done years before.
