The wait was 30 to 45 minutes after we discovered that we needed to have our name added to a list that one of the 3 people serving was in charge of. Excellent food...possibly the world's best falafel. My husband, who doesn't even like falafel ate two without stopping. For our dinner we ordered the chicken shish kabab and the lamb kofte, both of which were fantastic. The chicken was cooked to perfection, crispy and a little charred on the outside, but moist on the inside. The dishes came with two sauces, one of which (the red one) was very spicy. The service was courteous and organized, although we reached just as the crowd got thick, which meant waiting right by the diners. Despite that, a great experience. This place is so hard to find on Google Maps or Apple Maps, but if you ask locals they will tell you. It's kind of hidden little place and the food is amazing. Great authentic chef, very welcoming, even gave us free samples of his sauce that he was making. The bread melted in my mouth, with bold flavors and spices it was the perfect dinner I've had in San Juan. This is very nice little find and nice little break from latin flavors. We came here on our second night after reading the great reviews on Yelp and our desire to eat some good middle eastern/Turkish food, I know I know even though we were in Puerto Rico and should be eating good Caribbean food (and trust me we did the other nights we were here!!). Anyway back to this place, it's kind of tucked away next to a Starbucks in the highly touristy area of Condado, we drove and had to find parking a few blocks done. The restaurant itself is decorated beautifully, I loved the colored lamps hanging from the ceiling, plus they offer indoor and outdoor seating, when we arrived it was packed but we found a cozy table for two inside. For appetizer we kept it simple and ordered the baba ganoush with fresh pita bread sprinkled with poppy and sesame seeds, very good!! For entrees we were fascinated by the large black bowls at other peoples tables with food on top and a low flame at the bottom to keep it warm, reminded me of Pakistani cuisine, ordering a "karaaai", our server told us these were the casseroles so we ordered a chicken casserole and one lamb dish called Iskander kabob which was thinly sliced lamb with tomato and the best part were pieces of pita bread under the lamb that had soaked up the tomato sauce, deliciousness!! Our server was nice and attentive, food was good. My only criticism is on the dessert, we got baklava and while it was good, slightly doughier than I expected. Overall, good food that reasonably priced, great atmosphere, if you are looking to take a break from Caribbean food, I would highly recommend this place! read more

Came here grab some take out. The waiter told me that take out would take much longer because they focus on table service. I found this honest answer very refreshing and took a table outside. The ambiance was good, the waiter was attentive and the food was, what's the word? Amazing! So flavorful and exotic. I have been to the Qatar and Iraq and can attest to the authenticity of this meal. I am usually particular about the Turkish food in the US and think that many Turkish restaurants are below avarage but Ali Baba rocked. Most places I've been to that claim to be "cultural" consist of dry pita and frozen chicken drenched in sauce. I was pleasantly surprised to see them roasting fresh meat, and the bread was lovely. We started with delicious hummus. My boyfriend said the pita bread was awesome. It's not a hole-in-the-wall place per say, just located down a little walkway. The service was very good and the servers rotated during the experience. The main problem I had with the restaurant is that I am gluten free and there was nothing for me to eat. They offered no alternative for bread for any of the dips. Additionally, the rice that comes with the dinner, the most filling part of the meal, had noodles in it. And that was the only rice they had. I ordered the lamb with yogurt and tomato sauce (minus the pita bread) and it was a bit over cooked. As I wasn't able to eat much of the meal (and I was unsatisfied with the lamb) I was still hungry when I left, because the potatoes and "salad" I.e. a Turkish cole slaw of some sort, were super small in proportion to everything else. I did not go into the meal expecting large portions, but I was disappointed with the food and naturally that's the most important part! I don't think I would go back, but I can see why others may, therefore I am giving this restaurant a middle-of-the-road review. read more

This is by far the best place I ate while in Condado--I went three times! It's tucked in off the street and easy to miss, so keep an eye out when you're at Starbucks, which is in front.
