Started coming here since we knew some friends here. Everyone has been super nice. Kids loved their groups. We enjoy the service. It's LOUD but has contemporary music and the people leading the music rotate which is very nice. Pastors are great and you get an outline for notetaking. Has small cafe and store. We haven't met many other people though since we haven't joined a small group yet. Sunday is just the service. They have a lot of mission groups local and international. They are ramping up the kids area this fall for more fun. They integrated the high school kids into the worship. So only young kid and middle school programs now. We like it here and will be joining a small group soon. They are expanding to Greenbrier this fall. read more

This is a good church. I really enjoyed going to this church because the services are great! I have enjoyed the sermons. Especially when Pastor Michael Brueseke is doing them. He is funny and knows how to make what he is preaching relate-able. However, I am not a fan of how large and "cliquey" it feels. If I am not meeting a friend, I feel alone around SO many people, it's a strange feeling. (one star down) The Children's program is AMAZING. I was taking my niece and nephew every week and they absolutely loved it!!! I dragged my husband (he does not attend the church) to a Bible/Series group that I was really interested in trying. It was SUPER awkward. The people were very nice, but they weren't working on the series that I was told they were, and they weren't expecting me, even though I signed up. And it was at someone's private home, which I would have been okay with if I was told ahead of time. But I wouldn't take a star off for this.... I feel like this was just a personal experience gone wrong. But the main reason I am not giving this church a 5 is because I haven't been interested in going back... Maybe it's because I'm lazy, or something else having to do with ME, but I feel like if I really enjoyed a church, I would continue to go.... (two stars down) read more

Took the opportunity to visit church today! I enjoyed every aspect this ministry. The folks were welcoming and seemed non judgemental.The word was to the point with clarity and understanding of what the pastor said. The children's church was entertaining captivating the attention of the little people. What sold me was the the idea of "giving and ministering to others " this church appears to say what they do and do what they say..I'm going to keep attending! My family and I joined this church over a year ago. I only wish we had known about this Community church years ago. Pastor Michael is the senior pastor and truly a man of God. They just don't care about the people here locally, like other churches, but extend grace to people all around the world to show them the love of God. They run a complete coffee shop where ALL the proceeds go to their missions internationally. They also ha e serve teams and groups to join to help everyone feel connected! Great worship. Great sermons. Too cliquey. Will make you feel like an outcast when you do not agree with everything. It definitely is a nice place to be, but it could be better. The church is very large, they have 2 places for worship. Separate services for children, teens, and young adults. Weekly community groups to learn more in depth about the bible. They have a little cafe to buy coffee and snacks for during the services as well. They even offer a Saturday night service. I would not recommend this place to people who have an open mind with many current events. If you are old school in your beliefs, this is the place for you. Not so much for me. I came to Community Church about a year ago when I was going through a really tough time and felt like giving up. I grew up in my grandfathers church in NY but had not found a new church home since moving to VA 10 years ago! My friend and coworker told me about this church she just started going to and even with her description, I was so surprised when I went with my kids for the first time. I've never experienced church like this before! From the moment you arrive to the parking lot you see church members waving you in. They are there holding the door open for you and welcoming you inside. There's a welcome desk for first timers where they explain where everything is and what to expect. You check your kids into Community Kids, which is sort of Sunday School for elementary school kids and then you can go to adult service, kid free. This was a relief to me because my kids can get restless and that can be a distraction. Pastor Michaels message always speak exactly to what I'm going through at the time which is a blessing. There's always different activities or events going on at the church. I got involved with a small group and was even baptized! I highly recommend the church for the whole family! It's a beautiful place and has truly blessed my life! read more

I came to Community Church 5 years ago. I did my research by perusing Pastor Michael's previous sermons. It was like God led me here because the first or second sermon I ran across was on diversity! So I knew immediately this was where God wanted me to be. The Pastor is really good at getting the message across to you no holes barred and you have to love him for that. This church doesn't just talk-the-talk, they actually walk-the-walk. They truly are meeting the needs of people and I can truly say I love this church, I imagine heaven will be like Community Church, diverse people from all walks of life seeking God. If you need to fill loved or a helping hand, they will fit the bill. Stay positive about the experience, it's happening for you, step out of your box. Expect anything to happen and you'll not be disappointed. Everyday holds the possibility of a miracle and it was a miracle when I found Community Church. Thank you Lord for leading me here. We came first off with a friend the kids service is great and the pastors are friendly.we come every weekend. They are really involved in the community and care even with the large amount of people. Each sermon is about 70 min long with songs and praying. This week as I am writing this we are in the sermon Spirit Wars and would be enjoyed by star wars fans. read more

This church is absolutely great! The opening worship feels like a concert (in a good way). They are great at taking care of the kids in their kid zones in order to let the parents attend grown up church. We've traveled all over and have never had such a great experience anywhere else. We highly recommend that you give CC a shot if you are in the area and looking for a church solution. We attended for years before we had to move out of town for work.The whole family really misses it! read more

I Haven't been to church in a long time and this past Sunday I was invited to go watch a baptism. When I first walked in I was amazed by how big it was I really felt like I was walking into a concert hall. They had areas for children and they also had a cafe. Across from the cafe was a little area where you can watch the service that was going on on the TV screen instead of having to be inside of the area sitting with everyone else. I mean I really enjoy the fact that there are lots of options. The message that was being presented that day was very good and the music was great also I might come again read more

My brother and his wife recommended this church to my family after their first visit. I wasn't sure what to expect as I have never been to a church quite like this before but it has blown me away. The Pastor's sermons are amazing and everyone is so welcoming. I enjoy the atmosphere and my children love the kids ministry. We now go every Saturday night to worship. This is a great place of worship and I am truly blessed that it has become my family's church home! The staff and atmosphere are wonderful. There is something for everybody. Community Church is part of the Acts 2 network and really practice this principle by constantly serving and conducting outreach. They also have several mission trips to other countries throughout the year. This is a very accepting church, operating under the Lords mandate to love everyone, but they do not bow down and embrace the un godly trends of today and they worship with the goal of bringing more people to God, not being labeled as "progressive" or "champions" of the popular movements that are destroying the world today! This is a great church. They did change the name here to Community Church of Western Branch as they are soon to open satellite churches in Great Bridge and in Portsmouth. This church is amazing. It was very scary at first cause there are so many people but once I made the effort to get to know the church and its members better it blows my mind.
