The bulk of the body is 20 and 30 somethings, but there is a solid group of 'grey hairs' there to impart wisdom and mentor those of us who desperately need it. Redemption teaches mostly expositionally. During the summers they typically pick an overarching topic to preach through. The members are friendly and inviting and they have community groups in multiple cities in the area that allow for deeper relationships and great friendships to develop. Doesn't preach on eschatology, but he has a sincere, but direct approach to teaching, which I need. I like hearing the truth point blank, no beating around the bush and he has a way of telling you like it is but smiling at you the whole time with open arms. And he's super funny how he integrates his family into the stories. The children's program is huge and very organized with people who really want to be there. Love how they make it fun at all ages. They do really cool activities with the middle and high schoolers, too! Like nerf gun fights , ice cream socials and slip and slides and paint wars. They have a lot of people around for support and to ask questions about where to go for what grade/age. I really like how they implement safety in every aspect of the church from the parking lot to access for disabled folks. So many bible classes to chose from which was refreshing since we can't all fit in a square box. I felt so welcomed there since day one and haven't regretted coming back. Coffee is good too! That's important!! The bathrooms are clean and they had a renovation which added on a new and expanded sanctuary giving the middle and high school students a lace of their own to have worship service. Didn't know they were Baptist (usually stated in the name), but I've come to embrace the big church, small hometown feel. I really like how leadership makes themselves available to you and just because they are a larger church, doesn't mean they are unapproachable or unreachable. That really made a difference for me.

My boyfriend's, mother lives in Chesapeake and we live on the opposite ends of town so... C.C location was perfectly located in the middle. C.C is non-denominational but still has traditional values. I would describe the church as casual and friendly. Services are held @ 9 and 11am on Sundays. I actually attended last Sunday and found that the message really hit close to home. It makes you aware of something hidden or not fully understood about another person's feelings, intentions or nature. It is allowing the person to look deep into the Holy Spirit. The pastors are not focused on how to build a bigger and better church, they are focused on sharing the Love of Christ and the ways we can grow in Him. There is a balance of His Love alongside His truth and discipline. The worship is lively, children and adults alike are welcome down front to dance, twirl, jump, whatever the Spirit leads you to do. The leaders are sensitive to others and guide and teach what is happening during the service, which helps to allay any fears. Pastor Adam's sense of humor is guaranteed to cause some laughter while at the same time, the depth of the teaching leaves you feeling full and whole. There is communion once a month, a cafe in the narthex and prayer is almost always up front after the service. Thank Jesus for this awesome church!

Community book boxes are shared spaces meant for age-appropriate books, not promotional materials. Families of many different backgrounds and beliefs use that space. I hope the church will be mindful about where outreach materials are distributed and respect posted guidelines in community areas designed for children
