I'm shocked at the reviews as I've had nothing but a great experience with ALKU. They have kept me in contracts for almost 4 years, no gaps. I've given other companies the opportunity but ALKU always comes through first. As a C2C contract I love that they pay weekly, when other companies want to pay me on a 30-day net. I will say their mark-up may be a little higher than others, but I set my hourly requirement (which is not low) and if the client is willing to pay, that is their decision. As far as I can tell, their mark-up is 33%. And NEVER, have I had to wait for an interview on a Zoom call. If the interview is set for 2 PM, that's the time I get the call. When I call, I get right to my rep or have the ability to leave a voice mail (mail box has never been full). I get other companies calling me trying to get me to take anywhere between $35-$60 per hour and that's a ridiculous pay. Good luck to you all!! ALKU has been great to me!! read more

My experience over the past 2 years with ALKU recruiters has been awful. They have been unprofessional, aggressive, and disingenuous in their recruitment practices. They contacted me under the guise of having a job opportunity, only to try to get the names and contact information of my business contacts with no real prospects for me. EVERY reviewer of this company across multiple platforms and forums has stated something similar. Further, I have asked Alku to cease contacting me and have blocked their 978 numbers, yet they continue to call and try the same shady practices. An Alku recruiter called today about a job opportunity but said the name of the company and job title was confidential. So then, what are we even talking about? Complete nonsense and ALKU should be ashamed for having this culture in their company. I have reported them to BBB and the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office. I have had several different people reach out to me from ALKU on LinkedIn since I began a job search mid-March of this year. It's obvious they don't speak to one another, nor share my resume amongst their team. They hounded me with multiple phone calls in one day insisting I provide references, while I was trying to gather the info from the references to provide them. They spoke at length to one of my references about a particular job for which they were submitting me, then called a single time several days later and would not return my follow-up call or emails (I missed the call). They ask for things, always with an apparent sense of urgency, and usually after I have provided what they request, they never respond again. With so many people looking for work right now, the recruiting space is particularly unprofessional, but I would never recommend working with ALKU. read more

My contract changed without notice, however I believe the recruiter was well aware of the changes, but never bothered to notify me. Because of this I've lost time and money. I recently had the very bad experience, the worse in my entire career of 25+ years. I never like to say anything bad about a company because I feel every company that I've been honored to work for has been a stepping stone for my next opportunity. However, my intention to share my experience, is just to warn and help my fellow engineers on LinkedIn of this really bad experience I went through, with my last job. I was offered an opportunity by ALKU and my point to contact was Mr. Andrew Brantley (D (978) 228-3679 abrantley@alku.com), who told me that the team at L3 Harris in 9 Akira way, Londonderry, NH, 03053, was very happy to have me join the team. My first day was 1/21/2025 & worked there for 3 days that week. Met nice colleagues and the following week on Tuesday, 1/28/2025 I was told that they had realized they had no budget for training and they had to lay me off. I was in shock because I got no relocation and I paid for my travel (RT), hotel, car rental as well as meals and incidentals. They didn't even bother to help me pay for my expenses, whatsoever. Very unprofessional. I said: "Why wasn't I informed about this before I moved here on my own expenses? That's very unprofessional and unfair to me and my family, but they didn't seem to care. Management was Lead Systems Engineer Dan Suchy, Program Manager John Calderara, and Production Program Manager Kathleen Rowe. So, be careful if you are approached by any of these individuals who to me were very inconsiderate and unprofessional. I'm reporting this to the Better Business Bureau, and Yelp. read more

Yikes. This company is the absolute worst of all staffing firms I have worked with (as a Candidate...I am not a client of theirs...I sought jobs through them). They have extremely strict rules of communication....whereby if they ever even bother to update you on your candidacy status (cant tell you how many times I have been ghosted after an initial, seemingly promising discussion), they do it only via phone calls. I feel like they act like Used Car Salespeople, in that they MUST always speak to you LIVE...so they can give you the SCHMOOZE about nothing. Well, guess what, that is not always easy to do, when someone is still on an engagement. They don't email, they don't text, don't communicate thru through LinkedIn, even though they Accept the invite (sometimes). I have even tried to call direct numbers, they never answer. I have tried the main number, you cannot get to anyone...in fact, one time, I was auto-disconnected trying to navigate through the maze of a voice mail system. Awful. ALKU (Staffing, Consulting, Recruiting, Contracting, Temp) Agency, unethically calls consultants with promises of non-existing contracts, just so they can get References to use as contacts for new leads not to confirm the Consultant's background. They also call excessively to fish for information, they start by saying they are just checking in to see if you need any help finding work, but they quickly pivot to asking what you're working on, and who you're working for, so that they can solicit your Client for placements. I was once on a contract sitting side by side with 12 other consultants, and some days within the span of 2 hours we would all get calls from ALKU asking what we were up to and how we're doing and who we're working for and what we're working on and how long the contract will be, it was really annoying, especially since we all worked for other agencies, I suppose ALKU unscrupulously used the Client's private directory to contact us all. If you are new to consulting: never give a recruiter your references until after you've had an interview with the client. read more

ALKU is GARBAGE! Do not do business with them, or let them get your contact information. I made the mistake of having my phone number (years ago) on my resume, and posted it on a job site. ALKU scraped my information from my old resume, and will not stop calling me. I have told multiple ALKU head hunters to remove me from their database and leave me alone, and even emailed their corporate office. None of this works because I keep getting harassed. If you look on the BBB website, there are numerous people who have the same experience about ALKU's constant harassment. The previous one star reviews are correct - this company is on an eternal fishing trip trying gather more leads from you, rather than actually trying to place you. They ask for references before even presenting a real job description, bombard you with poorly spelled emails (and phone calls at 5am) about imaginary positions that never move forward, three different people will contact you asking the exact same things within a weeks' time as if they don't have a centralized database where all this would be stored like a proper recruiting firm. While not exactly malicious, it is annoying and completely suspect, especially when you're already dealing with the stress of finding new employment. Beware of ALKU based in Massachusetts. The main managers send front liners to candidates claiming to send your resume for contract opportunities. These front liners demand the contact information for your previous supervisors first. After providing this extensive information, the main managers create false stories, ie, that you have no compete clauses that do not exist. ALKU Massachusetts is simply interested in increasing their client base, and therefore, needs your supervisors' information to do so. Stay away from this agency! read more

A glorified temp agency...but not of the reputable sort. 1. Their markup is truly obscene and bears no relation with the modest value they add to the matchmaking process. They are a dime-a-dozen body shop posing as a tech consulting firm. Oddly, they are as daft as they are greedy: it won't dawn on them that consultants (many of whom make a living managing the very systems that pays THEM) will soon find out what their fat cut is... Fact of life: consultants will develop relationships with one another...and with the client. ALKU busybodies will nickel-and-dime even the most seasoned consultants under bogus pretenses so that they can preserve their lardy cut. Often, that means that they will only present to prospective clients the profiles of lower-tier consultants who subject themselves to the Dickensian treatment. 2. Their marketing is bordering on harassment. Incessant fishing-expedition calls await technology professionals. They will dangle vaguely-defined or non-existing projects and inquire about your current role in order to also spam your current client and build up their "database" (or some pre-Jurassic version thereof). They will ignore time zones, sometimes due to cognitive impediments (time zone conversion involves some calculation), sometimes due to gross unprofessionalism. They don't talk to one another either, so you may get 3 ALKU calls from 3 vapid, ultra-fake "recruiters / sourcers" in a single day. If you're lucky and they actually have a prospective client/project, you may get to talk to some salesperson who doesn't exude depth and sincerity either. One pro: they pay quickly when they pay. I have multiple contacts from the recruiters at ALKU and all have been extremely poor. They would send an email and/or phone call regarding an upcoming opportunity. The follow-up is where they are extremely poor. Example - received a call and an email for a need with client, called recruiter (got voicemail) back and sent him an email. No response. I sent a second email the next day. No response. Sent a third email. No response. This is not the first time this recruiter has not gotten back to regarding opportunities after they initiated the contact, but it will be the last. A different recruiter has now done the same thing to me regarding a different opportunity. I have even had instances in which multiple recruiters have contacted me for the exact same opportunity. There is absolutely NO follow-up from these recruiters at ALKU. Extremely poor customer service. read more

I was contacted by this staffing agency. Never heard of them. It started out great. Constant communication, easy to reach, etc. As time and the project I was on, less contact to none, project managers sucked and didn't communicate much, they tried to play me for my OT, not in CALI hunnie! and just over all unorganized. Over the past month I have been contacted by one of their recruiters (a different one each time) for various projects multiple times. I have responded to them with a resume and a paragraph or 2 as why I am qualified for the opportunity as well as my contact information. I have yet to get a response from any of them. I have followed up by phone and email, but still no response or updates from them.
