He tried to get a hold of his boss, but he was in a meeting. Next day we call them and he said, 'we'll do another estimate' - so then another guy comes over, and he quoted $5,400 for half the work (2 trees versus 5) -- arguably more expensive than the $10,000 quote. Seriously? I need these trees dealt with before they cause a bigger issue (one was struck by lightning and already had a branch fall off). Well, they said they had some guy who was giving incorrect estimates that no longer works for the company. Does that sound like a reasonable story? A guy you employed was giving estimates, you were scheduling the jobs, and then, what? You fired him because you realized you can charge double to seniors in need of urgent work? By the way, we had another company that did more work for $3,400 -- arguably cheaper than your original "incorrect" quote. I guess legally you have the right to refuse to honor an estimate (although if one of your customers cancels you charge a 10% penalty - isn't that ironic?), and there was no bad outcome here (thankfully) other than a massive waste of our time. But frankly, there is dubious trustworthiness here... Related to which, why does your estimate form say you have a 5.0 Yelp rating when the actual rating is 4.3?

They took notes and pictures and then sent me two contracts with pricing (1 for the trimming and 1 for tree replacement). The trimming only had a couple things on it like tall grass and a couple bushes. Not the other bushes or roses so they updated that contract. The tree removal, I picked a bush to replace it and they updated that contract. I came back with an offer to do all the work and he agreed via email and sent me another contract and told me that they needed paid in full up front and they would get to it when they could between Dec and Feb. I sent them a check and they did the work in Dec but missed the tall grasses and 3 small grasses. They called back in Feb about doing the tall grasses for more money. When I told them I paid for everything they noted tall grass wasn't on the contract. Sure enough they took the grass off the contract so my mistake. They looked at the emails and said but the contract didn't state tall grass. Fool me once shame on me. I told them, I would not be a customer of theirs again. I thought this legal contract to trim grass was odd and so was the pay up front. Don't make the same mistake I did. Can't trust them to honor their word. If you do business with them beware and don't pay it all till you are satisfied with the work. Good luck.

Paul came out today to treat my yard and I just started cutting my grass. He told me he had a couple of more places to go and he would be back. When he arrived back I just finished cutting the lawn and was going to sweep. He told me he had a blower and would take care of that for me.
