Workout equipment is a bit outdated, but by far the best in Jackson! That's not being biased. I've checked every facility out because of our resignation a few months ago. Unfortunately, the biggest downside is the owner, Jan. She has a manipulative demeanor, often engaging in gossip and spreading rumors about members, which fosters an uncomfortable and distrustful environment. This lack of discretion and respect for clients' privacy reflects poorly on the type of facility she runs. I've known many that have left due to her spreading gossip and completely disrespecting her staff and micromanaging them. While she's the majority owner, and Chuck being co-owner (often come to work drunk and drink on the job), also loves town gossip and tag teams Jan when it comes to getting members to quit while acting inappropriately. The staff and trainers are great, the gym itself has fallen apart dramatically once they lost their main employee manager, Jesse. He made that gym our happy place. The energy that he gave off was enough to motivate myself and my wife. It's disappointing because the club itself could easily be a 5-star experience if it weren't for that negative energy at the top.

They supply mats, blocks, blankets and bolsters for the traveling yogi, or anyone who forgets to bring theirs! There are cubbies and a coat rack for your belongings and two unisex restrooms just outside the yoga studio. A couple hours prior to class I stopped by and met one of the Center's managers, Rebecca (very sweet) was hosting an open house for expectant moms featuring all they offer in prenatal and postpartum yoga classes, wellness treatments and support. Medicine Wheel also offers physical therapy, acupuncture, massage therapy, Spiritual direction and other fitness training classes. They have essential oils and treatments and other health supplements and yoga equipment for purchase. My instructor, Ari, was so gifted and exuded such peaceful energy i immediately felt at ease and welcomed. She asked from the elements which I'd most benefit and I chose Earth to get some practice grounding and balancing. She did a super job of leading us through the breathing and poses, encouraging us throughout the Hour whenever our bodies were not cooperating. At the end of shavasana she gave us a brief and gentle foot massage which was heavenly!! It can be intimidating going to a new studio but Medicine Wheel's staff and facilities are inviting, energizing and comforting, too. This is truly a healing space!! And you can sign up on Returned two days later for yoga with Rebecca and massage with Dee- still amazing!! It is advisable to inquire at the front desk for clarification; upon inquiry, an employee stated that the steam room is cleaned only once a week. This is insufficient. The employee also mentioned that disinfectant is injected into the water lines of the steam system.

I keep coming back to him because I've never had so much fun getting my own butt kicked! Chuck has 20 years of experience training, mixing martial arts techniques with boxing and weight training. All the while he tells jokes and stories in his Irish accent, ensuring that I never get bored! His habit of storytelling also helps me get through the high weight reps without counting, so I never feel like giving up. Currently I train with Chuck at the Burbank Athletic Club, but he's been willing to travel to several different gyms over the years, and even to my house for an extra fee. If you're serious about increasing your strength and endurance, or even just in leaning out, I can't recommend him enough!!!
