My first visit was to have a pair of new pants hemmed. The person who did the measuring work could…read morehave been more customer friendly. He measured and marked the pants, and took my payment with indifference. On the day of the scheduled pickup, I was called to come in and have the pants re-marked for alteration. Sometime during the time the measurements were made and the pickup time was scheduled, the person who was actually going to hem the pants discovered what appeared to be random tailoring marks, making it impossible for her to know where to hem them. It was stated that no mark on a leg matched any mark on the other leg. When I came in to get re-measured, I was greeted well, and the gentleman who did the measuring was very considerate, asking me several questions about the occasion to which I would be wearing the pants, and while the pants were being altered, brought me a bottle of chilled water and engaged me in pleasant conversation. If not for the first visit, I would be giving this establishment a 5-star rating. Perhaps the person who I interacted with first was just having a bad day.

My only complaint regarding the classes is that the children's classes are offered primarily in the summer. We homeschool, and we would love to have access to year-round children's classes. Edited to add: My husband and daughter took a parent-child ceramics class at River Oaks when my daughter was about 2 1/2 years old. She's now 6 1/2 - to my knowledge, they've yet to do another class like that (with younger children). I really wish they'd consider starting parent-child classes again. Both my daughter and husband had a blast and still speak fondly of the time they spent together there.

When I called the store number to report the incident, and advise that they will be seeing a chargeback for this charge (also to keep their eyes open w/ people using phony debit cards), the listed number I called 318-855-5414, is out of service. This leads me to believe that this company, in general, is a fraud. My debit card was billed $2.22 - small amount meaning ... are you testing its validity? My card is now closed, so no further charges will go through.
