I have a metal roof and gutters with gutter guards. They company that used to do an excellent job on my roof (I'll call them "JB") is a janitorial firm that appears to no longer do roofs. I called AA based on reviews and explained that my roof was quite dirty with pollen and was clear with them it was metal. They said they would come and blow the roof off and see what else could be done. They did NOT come right out and say they could not clean up pollen. They quoted me a price lower than the previous company had been charging, so I scheduled the work about three weeks out. The tech came out late in the afternoon, spent a LOT of time looking around and talking to the office and then told me that they could only blow debris off. To do a wash would take two people a full day and cost around $2,000. Sorry, that's NOT going to happen! I said go ahead and blow the roof off, there was plenty of Douglas fir cones and other debris that needed to come off anyway. The work was fine for what it was, though there's still a mess of pollen up there. I would have preferred that they just say "we don't clean metal roofs because you won't be happy with the results."

I hired Gale Contractor Services to insulate our garage as it is being used as a workshop. After…read morethe crew left (after only 3 hours), I wrote this exact letter to them: "Charles - Your crew just left and we have a few concerns that we would like to go over with you. The two guys that were performing the work did not speak English well and we could not convey the concerns to them. We were surprised that there was nobody here to give direction or at least someone we could talk to. 1. They did not vacuum the interior walls before starting the work and we could not communicate to them that we didn't want the rat droppings sealed into the wall. So (we) had to go out there and vacuum up. 2. They did not clean up after the job, leaving debris and staples all over the garage floor. Not what I expected from a professional service. 3. There are some rips in the white covering which I believe should have been taped. Holes cut around outlets, lights, etc. have partial tape. 4. Most staples are only 1/2 way in and look like they will come out very easily. I would like someone to come out ASAP to look at this work and finish it to our satisfaction. I did a lot of research before choosing your company based on recommendations - I don't think that your company has a reputation for sloppy work. I chose your company to to this work for us - correctly." Charles came out and affirmed the installation was done poorly and offered a $150 discount since we had another person coming in to install sheet rock that day and could not wait to have them fix the issues. We ended up paying the sheet rock guy $400 extra for him to fix Gale contractor's shoddy work, which took 1/2 day for him to do.
