I…read morewas very impressed by the excellent service and courteous and friendly staff, particularly the older and delightful lady who fitted my glasses (wish I could remember her name). I really thought I'd already written a review for Qype and came back to alter it having visited again this week. Now I find that I hadn't written one after all. Anyway, I went there for a sight test with a view to buying new glasses again. I have to say that I was appalled by several members of the staff, particularly the two young women on the desk upstairs. They were off-hand, made fun of my pronunciation of a particular word and had not a shred of courtesy or good manners. I have no idea whether they were new to Specsavers or whether I just didn't have the misfortune to run into them last year. It wasn't just me they took a dislike to - whilst waiting I heard them being rude to a few other people. The woman who examined my eyes was professional and fairly pleasant and polite, which made up for it a bit and calmed me down. However, having now got my prescription I shall take it elsewhere to get my new glasses. Specsavers should take a leaf out of Starbucks, Costas and Wetherspoons' books (to name but three) and train their staff in, at least, basic good manners. It makes all the difference to customers, especially older ones, I can assure you.

A great doctor's surgery. There are 4 doctors in the practice and they are all knowledgeable,…read morefriendly people. As is the case with most practices, there is a wait for a routine appointment -about 2-3 weeks last time I tried to see my doctor, although it is quicker if you just see the next available doctor. Emergency appointments are available the same day if you ring and book it early enough. There is a self checking in system which helps cut down the time of waiting for an available receptionist. Patients are notified that they are to go to the doctors room by a LCD display so you can just sit there waiting for your turn. Sometimes the appointments can be a little delayed, the most I've had to wait is about an hour past my allotted time but this was due to an earlier emergency. Repeat prescriptions can be ordered in person or over the phone and sent straight through to the pharmacy next door, this usually takes a couple of days. Midwives and health visitors are usually very good. The HV's run free classes on baby massage which is a very nice way to interact with your new baby. All in all very good all round doctor's surgery. Deducted one star for the delay in getting routine appointments.
