But really there's nothing here we haven't enjoyed. I have to say I am really dissapointed with what we recieved for take out. I don't do take out often but this one was pretty much the worse that I have had. The only thing that I can say about the service was that the food was ready with pick up. We had the family dinner for 4 - Sweet and Sour Chicken, Crispy Ginger Beef, Mixed Vegetables w/Garlic, Spring Rolls (4) and Chicken fried Rice. The sweet and sour chicken batter was dry and the chicken inside was stringy. The crispy ginger beef was not crispy but chewy and lacked beef. Spring rolls had good flavour but spent a bit too much time in the fryer. The chicken fried rice was bland. The only dish that was good wsa the mixed vegetables with garlic. Perfectly cooked and very flavourful. Also they didn't send sauces. Next take out night i will take my business somewhere else. read more

It's definitely a greasy spoon joint that's interior hasn't been updated ever. Prices are reasonable, food is delicious. The service was ok, the place is open late and had a good crowd inside. I highly don't recommend this restaurant! I had the beef brisket and on one of the beef there was a hair on it. It was on my food and it was clearly by the chefs hair. My friends and I always come here after a night out. As usual, they never disappoint our Chinese food cravings. Service: We didn't have to wait to be seated. We were there right before it got busy when all late-night party goers came. It only took maybe 10 minutes before our delicious food was served. Food: Chicken corn soup- perfect appy for an alcohol-filled stomach. It has bits of chicken meat, corn, and some shreds of eggs. Beef Gailan- bite-size tender beef meat and half-cooked gailan veggie. Garlic Dry Pork Ribs- The only dish that I didn't appreciate much was this one. It was very dry and there was more breading and less meat. Drivers don't know how to use the skip app. They only deliver through skip. Left $60 worth of food on my doorstep in -20 Celsius and did not confirm on Skip that they delivered. You already know about All Happy so let's keep this short and sweet. Open every day of the week (typical Chinese style) and the only place, that I know of, in Edmonton that is open till 4am! The perfect spot to go to after your late night rave/clubbing/drinking festivities. The space is much bigger as they have doubled their capacity, overtaking the restaurant next door (RIP, that place was legit). The place was bumpin' and there was a constant flow of people coming in to grab their takeout. We ordered a couple dishes: - Singapore style fried vermicelli ($9.99) - good but they overdid it with the curry powder. - Ha gow ($4.99) - dim sum at 2am, how can you ever go wrong? Ha gow is a must. - Sui mai ($4.99) - obviously you need to order sui mai if you've already ordered ha gow. They go hand in hand. It's called tradition, don't mess with it. - Pi dan jouk ($4.99) - nothing like a good bowl of jouk when it's cold outside. Pi dan (century old eggs) gives it a nice boost of flavour. Simple but delicious. - Lo mai gai ($4.99) - my sis is too quick. You get three sticky rices, not two as in the picture. Decent. It must be nice having the whole late night Edmonton market to yourself. All Happy must be absolutely killing it at night. Technically, hot pot is open but that's not even a real late night option. Got into Edmonton fairly late, with limited amount of eateries opened; we braved this restaurant for a much needed meal. My friends and I ordered for room temperature water with lemon and what we got, was all but that. Out meals consisted of an order of the black bean sauce shrimp, 2 orders of spicy house special fry rice, sweet/ sour pork w/ rice & ginger beef. Personally, me and my partner were famished from our 4.5 hours drive to Edmonton and we enjoyed our meal. The black bean sauce shrimp was especially salty, but that's my first time tasting the dish so I can't speak on what to expect with it. Mind you, we didn't drink the water supplied or made use of the lemon supplied, as they looked like they were starting to go bad. My friend and his wife on the other hand didn't enjoy the meal, citing the ginger beef was overly heavy on the batter/ deeply sauced up, as with the pork served with the white rice. Overall, the service was good. We got seated promptly and our food came out almost immediately after ordering; left everyone surprised cause we were told it'd take the kitchen a while due to the busy nighttime rush. That was appreciated, definitely didn't go unnoticed. I can't speak for what your experience might entail but to the best of my ability I have described mine, as listed above. They have a huge menu and have a great selection of Americanized favorites and old school traditional Chinese dishes. One of my personal favorites is a scrambled egg with beef dish. Even though it is so simple (eggs and beef), the flavor is out of this world! For you seafood lovers, they also make this with shrimp, instead of beef. All Happy is best known as the place to go after a wild, drunken night at the bar. They're open till 4am, allowing you to fill your junk food cravings after spending the night dancing and drinking your face off at Knoxville's or Central Social Hall. It's cheap, the food is served within minutes, and it's a delicious alternative to a packed McDonald's drive-thru. However, unlike many of my friends, I also like to eat in Chinatown during the day whilst still moderately sober. I visited All Happy for a dinner with my friend Amanda--my usual date for a Garden Bakery romp--and we were sold. The noodles were as good as the Garden Bakery's used to be and had all of the flavour that its next-door neighbour appears to have lost. Amanda and I are purists when it comes to our Chinatown dinners: we order the same two things each time (but don't worry--as a halfer, I've tried a variety of Cantonese cuisine and a smorgasbord of Mandarin delicacies throughout my life). The Seafood Chow Mein was beautiful. Crispy, fresh noodles served as a bed for a mound of crunchy gai lan, tender scallops, shrimp, carrots, and squid. The sauce, which can turn to jelly if old, left sitting on a counter, or microwaved, had a perfectly thick consistency and was full of savoury seafood flavour. The Beef Chow Fun with Gai Lan--my personal favourite--was so fresh and hot that I burnt my mouth slightly in my haste to devour it. This version of Beef Chow Fun is the 'wet version' (something you should mention if you order it in a restaurant), which differs from the usual 'dry version' that is stir fried in spices. I prefer the sauce on my noodles, which is why I order this version. It's tasty and a nice change from the usual if you're feeling only slightly adventurous. Gai lan is my favourite of all Chinese vegetables; known as 'Chinese broccoli,' it's crunchy and has a distinct flavour similar to kale. I also ordered a Litchi (lychee) Cooler, a refreshingly sweet drink full of litchis, which are great as an impromptu after-dinner dessert. Dinner for two at All Happy came to under $25--a bargain and perfect for those who love a cheap and cheerful Chinatown snack. If you haven't managed to stumble into this restaurant in the wee hours of the morning yet, give it a shot. Maybe even try it during the day. You might just like it. P.S. They deliver! One of the very, very few places open very late in this city for food. The area is quite sketchy, but I've always been able to park in front and I've never known anyone to have a problem. I've been here at 3am and there have been families with little kids there, so it can't be that bad. The menu is pretty extensive and most things I've had are good or even slightly above average. I would stay away from the wonton soup, though - worst I've ever had. I like that there are dim sum items, too. My favs are the Singapore Street Noodles and the Shanghai Noodles. Have had quite a few other dishes as well, no complaints. Service is probably better than you would expect when you're dining so late. I always at least get smiles, and the lady at the cash register is always nice. read more

It is actually two addresses. One side is open until 4am. Back in the day, it was a great place to go after the bars all let out. Much better for you then Denny's. The decor is all older and needing an update. It reminds me of sitting in a cafeteria. The menu is EXTENSIVE! It was very overwhelming trying to pick just a couple of dishes. It would be great to go with a really big group so that you can try out a few things. We tried the Shrimp with Peaches and Salad Sauce and the Spicy Beef Hot Pot. I also ordered Pork Chops with Salad Sauce as a takeout item. The Shrimp with Peaches was very good - (not Paradise Shrimp at Pearl River good). They wrap the shrimp in wonton wrappers, which stays crisp even in the sauce. The peaches are canned, but we live in Alberta, so I wasn't expecting fresh. The "Salad Sauce" is similar to "Miracle Whip" but a sweeter version. The Spicy Beef Hot Pot had a nice level of spice in it. The beef was tender as were the potatoes. My husband described it "like a spicy Asian beef stew that has been simmering all day". He really enjoyed it. While we were waiting for our food, I got to take a look at the takeout/delivery menu. It is not nearly as extensive as the in-house menu. There are some tasty options available though if you don't want to leave your house. The service was okay. Everything was handled efficiently and our food orders were correct. The server was polite but not overly friendly. No drink refills were offered. Overall, I would go back for the food again. For late night eats, All Happy Family is tough to beat. How many dine-in restaurants are open till 4am? Not many in Edmonton. This place certainly has its charm. Divided in two, the daytime section of the restaurant is a lot nicer than the worn out booths in the late night section. However, even the rough side is an enjoyable experience (but perhaps not for weekend brunch with mom). Their menu is by and large western Chinese food. You're not coming here for authenticity. The food has always been good but personally I thought it was better a few years back when I first started coming. This was our go-to for take out whenever family came into town. We were coming enough that they knew me by name and would give free pops to my kids. I certainly can't fault the service. I say it was our go to as the prices just keep going up and the combos have shrunk by a dish. We have found better quality Chinese for a lower price closer to home. Their Peach Shrimp and Black Bean Mussles are two of the best Chinese food dishes I've ever tasted; but in reality everything is pretty fantastic.
