I have…read morehad my home owner's policy with her during my 40 years of home ownership of two separate homes in Chatham, along with my car insurance. Now that I am in my seventies, and feel it's time to sell my home and move into an apartment, I am still keeping my now renter's insurance with State Farm. When I called to change over, I learned from Alyssa Roman, one of the agents in the office, who would not put me in touch with Glisel, that, because I have to cancel my homeowner's insurance and carry renter's insurance instead, my car insurance premium must go up in price! I am so very upset and disappointed that, after being a loyal customer for 40 years, this is the case. I didn't so much as receive a call from Glisel after telling Alyssa that I was very upset and wanted to speak with her. I thought she would at least reach out to me after all these years. As if getting older and leaving my home isn't hard enough, now I'm faced with the added punishment of having my rates go up! Incidentally, I'm driving a 17 year old car and have a good driving record. Sad. Very sad. My previous very favorable opinion has changed drastically due to this incident. I am so very disappointed.

Went through the brain damage of binding a home insurance policy in April 2025 in connection with…read morebuying a home and paid the full annual premium in advance. The binder was "effective" for 90 days and was meant to become effective when I closed on the purchase of my home. In August 2025, I started receiving notices that I didn't pay for the policy -- turns out, State Farm cancelled my policy and issued a refund without notifying me so that they could raise my annual rates by over $500. Nobody at this office could explain why this cancellation was justified other than "a rating increase affected the policy". I asked them to honor the existing policy that I was quoted and paid for, and they would not. Turns out, when State Farm issues you a binder it means they'll collect your money and decide whether to honor the policy if it suits them (i.e., when it's more expensive for you). If this is how they handle the little things imagine how they handle the big things.
