My name is Chris and I was looking for a dependable company to give me a quote to build a deck on…read moreto the front of my house. After an hour of Google searches, I narrowed my list down to a couple of businesses based on their website and perceived quality of work. Affordable Decks was one of the companies that I selected, so I called and talked to Mike Wall (owner). He was very courteous and friendly on the phone, and he said that he would be more than happy to come out and give me a quote. We made plans to meet at 5:15pm the next day which worked out perfectly for me. I made sure that I left work a little early so that I would be home in time to meet him. After waiting for almost 30 minutes past the time we agreed to meet, I called him to find out if he was lost or on his way. Mike answered and apologized for not calling me and said that he had a dentist appointment earlier that day and had his teeth pulled, so he was sleeping on the couch. I told him no problem and I asked when would be a good time to plan for him to come out again. Mike suggested that we do it the very next evening. We agreed to meet at my home at 6:15pm. I specifically asked him to please call me if something came up an he couldn't make it and he promised that he would. The next day I raced home from work to ensure that I would be there when he arrived. 30 minutes after the agreed upon time, still no Mike. So I sent him a text and said "Apparently customer service isn't at the top of your list. I'll find another builder who wants my money. Thanks, Chris." To which Mike replied "Yeah sorry about that. It does get hectic when you gotta bid them sale them and build them. Sorry agin. Good luck." He later offered to come out for a 3rd time, but that just doesn't sit right with me. I can totally understand things popping up & unforeseen circumstances, but to miss 2 appointments in a row tells me that the quality of service just might be as sketchy as his word.
