All-star has top-notch mechanics who do a great job with preventative maintenance. They help you keep your car going by thoroughly inspecting your car each time you bring it in. I had a small list of maintenance needs brought to my attention, as I was at the 60K mileage mark. it would be a lot of afford all at once, so they helped me prioritize them. I've worked my way through the list as my finances allow. I'm thankful for their service because I want my car to last long and drive well. The service staff in the office are fantastic with communication. you can't get any better than RJ. he is so respectful and helpful. The staff can text or call you. they also send you a little report link via text. you can see photos of the findings before deciding which maintenance to proceed with that day. BEWARE!!! I asked the employee at the 9th street location to replace a front tire on Mizzou student's 2023 Volkswagen Jetta with 17,000 miles as it had a sidewall puncture. I received a bill for $2,200+ for tires, alignment and various and sundry other engine maintenance services. BTW, the car had recently, 5-6000 miles ago, visited the Volkswagen Dealer for a head-to-toe check-up with a clean bill of health. We have hired a lawyer and are disputing these extra charges. Joel is great and easy to work with. Kept me updated on the process and what to expect. Customer service is 4 stars. But they dropped the ball on a few things. I brought my truck in to get a tune up and check for leaks. A number of things needed to be replaced or serviced. They had the truck for a week. But missed that the lower oil pan gasket was leaking so I brought it back a week later. They did a great job in getting the lower pan gasket replaced pretty quick. But when I went to pick it up (after hours)I noticed a small puddle near the front. I crawled under and saw it was wet right below the power steering pump which was replaced. I'm not for sure how it was missed with the amount of fluid that is present. read more

I had to get a vehicle inspection done which is always a pain, but Woody's customer service made it no hassle at all! The location is super convenient especially for students as it's right downtown, and they don't try to scam you into a $100 oil change like other places I've been to. I had to go get something fixed and they said to come back for another free inspection once I fixed the issue w/ my car. They also offered to shuttle me back to my apartment while my car was in the shop. They followed up a few days later with a personal call asking if everything was going okay with the vehicle, and then I just got a sweet thank you card in the mail! The place is AAA-certified, but that means nothing. Taking the vehicle in for something routine, I was advised on over $600 of other things. Vehicle is over a decade old, so I expect some of it. But the place claimed license plate bulb was out. It's not. Claimed a wiper blade was too torn to test the arm. It wasn't that bad. And claimed I needed a major fluid replacement that I had done six months ago elsewhere. Add in that their findings of something needed did not match the other's findings of things needed. I reported them to AAA, but with no satisfaction. I'm not accusing, since there are two sides to every story (though the bulb item has no excuse). read more

ALMOST CRASH MY CAR BECUZ OF THEIR MISTAKE!!! I will make it simple and straightforward: 1. they spent quite awhile fixing my suspension inner tie rod. and they FORGOT to put the nut back, which is the only nut tying the tie rod. I lost steering control to my car two weeks later on I55 to Chicago. And thank god the car didnt loose control. I managed to find a nut from a supply shop in Lincoln and saved my day. 2. they spent god knows how long on my car's coolant leaking issue. I paid 2K and took the car home. less than 3 hours later, same day, the coolant started to leak like crazy and smoke coming out from engine. i took it back and they're like "oh the sealing to cylinder head we used is defective." LOL 3. they asked 800 parts+labor for my front bumper lower spoiler, including paint. I JUST did the whole thing in Chicago and it's 350 total, looks new. SO, YEAH, FUCK YOU! read more

He gave me a fair quote (comparable to lower estimates I could find online), and allowed me flexible scheduling to get the repair done and offered to give me rides if I needed. They are not super punctual about calling back (every time they said they'd call me, they didn't, and I had to call them) or about service times (we'll be done Wednesday turned into Thursday). However, I told them it worked for me to leave my vehicle the entire week, so it was not an issue for me. read more

First of all, these are some patient mechanics. I bought a car with a lot of kinks that I did not know about. Within the last six months I have had to go to them about five times. Now this is clearly not their fault (new things just kept popping up), but it seems as though my used car had some shoddy work done before I bought it. Whenever there was a problem, I would call Woody's and they would tell me to bring it in as soon as I could. Since I have been out of school I have been working 40 hour weeks, and I need a car for work. Mike did not even hesitate to offer me one of his cars if I needed to leave my car over night so that they could order parts. Another time I had a problem on a Friday and Mike came in on a Saturday to tighten up a part. They aren't even open on Saturday, and since all of their work is guaranteed, he did not charge me for the issue that day because it was something that he had previously worked on, and it just needed to be tightened. I don't know if everyone will get that treatment, but I think he felt bad for me that I have such a lemon. Anyway, the last time I was in there was a month ago, and my has been running well ever since. This place is run professionally, the employees are kind, and I never felt like they treated me as 'women that doesn't know much about cars, so we can take advantage of her.' Then they tried charging us more than they quoted us. When we got home I looked at the wiper blades and the just took it apart. I just put it back together. read more

We took our car to get it checked out before our cross-country trip. The Trip Check cost $95 off the top without making any repairs. They are incredibly slow. I took my car in for a 9 a.m. appointment on a Friday. They didn't even look at it until 3:30 that day and closed at 5 p.m. They found numerous problems, so we asked what absolutely needed to be done for our trip. I told them what I wanted. They said the car would be done Monday afternoon, especially since they're closed on Saturdays. I called on Monday and they still weren't done. They finally finished the car on Tuesday. When I went to pick it up, they were going to charge me more than what we had agreed to, which was $1200. I had to correct them on their math. They did charge me the agreed upon price, but called it something like a customer grace refund, even though the problem was on their end. Then, while we were driving cross country, we started having car troubles. We ended up having to spend more money and half a day out of our trip to determine what was wrong and get it fixed. It turns out, the car was low on transmission fluid. That is something that any garage doing a trip check, oil change and tune-up on a vehicle should check for. I would not recommend this garage to anyone. read more

Absolutely the worst. I had my car fixed here twice when I lived in Missouri. A couple of people from the University had recommended them since they were an "established" car repair place with a long history in Columbia. Plus, they were right next to the bus station so it was easy to drop off my car and go to school. The first time was a major repair, so major that I had to borrow money to get it repaired. Going by their estimate, I asked them to please let me know if it would be much more money than they had expected. If so, I would have to bring my car back the following month when I was paid again. When I dropped off my car, I even wrote a note to this effect and attached it to the key. Please do not fix if it's more than $100 over the estimate because I don't have the money. They fixed it and it was much more over the estimate. I didn't even get a phone call. I cried and then had to actually sell a home furnishing to get my car back. A couple years later I thought I would give them another chance. My horn stopped working and I took it to them. I paid what I thought was too much, and it was not fixed! They admitted that they could not find the problem, but I still had to pay for a broken horn. I was taken in by the old-timey photos on the wall and the seemingly laid back, down home attitude. If you know about cars and you know what should be done then okay, but if you're a single woman coming in alone them watch out. read more
