Ever since my regular barber moved to another city, I have been coming here. My barber, Sue, is amazing. She gives a wonderful cut and exactly the way I want it. I only ever expect a cut, so my first time there was interesting! She did the cut well, and followed with the massage that only usually comes at higher end places (in my experience). I make it a point to only go here for a cut. All guys know how hard it is to find a barber who does a cut the way they like, and when you find that one, you stick with that one. Just went back. I don't know why so long in between going there, but I finally made it back, and my experience was even better than I remember from last time! She trimmed hair in my ears, eye brows, nose, mustache, used hot lather and straight razor in back and around my ears. After taking her time cutting my hair, and all of the above, she massaged my scalp and then used a vibrating hand massager to go over my shoulders and surrounding areas. The lady cutting my hair was polite, friendly and respectful. She was careful not to upset me, although that would have been hard to do! Wow! This is a full service barber shop. The staff is friendly without being intrusive, and I enjoyed my time there. I told the barber what I wanted, gave my preferences (leave the eyebrows alone, keep beard and hair connected, etc.), and we were off. I'm happy with the cut I got, and no detail was overlooked. I just recently moved from California and needed to find a new regular barbershop to go to. Went here due to the high ratings on Yelp. Was not disappointed. I got in before it got busy on a Friday afternoon. I can see why so many people come here. The barbers were very pleasant. Excellent quick service with nice razor neck shave, massage, and hot towel. $13 for all of that is extremely good value. Very relaxing way to end the week. I have been coming here since I moved to the Dayton area in 2014. Sue and Mary are the nicest ladies around, their service is outstanding, and the quality is unbeatable for the price. For $15 you can't get a better haircut, straight razor neck shave, hot towel, and massage anywhere else. YOu'll never feel rushed here and you can talk as much or as little as you want. This place is even better now that haircuts are by appointment only as the wait could be quite long at peak times. You'll win with either barber but I always make my appointments with Sue. Great value and awesome quality. I won't go into the details of the quality of the haircuts except to say that I've always been very satisfied with their haircuts. They take their time and do an outstanding job. A hot towel, shaving cream on the back of the neck and the use of a straight edge adds a very nice touch that I haven't experienced at any other barbershop (and especially at none of the big corporate style haircutteries). The quality of the cut combined with these nice touches, and an inexpensive price earns this business 5 stars. It's a nice thing to be able to support a small local business that crushes the big franchise barbershops. Just one minor piece of criticism - the wait times can vary greatly. There are only two people working, which results in a huge difference between being third in line and fifth in line. On a couple of occasions I've arrived when the place was completely empty. On one other occasion I've arrived behind 3 people, one of whom had two kids. That wait was somewhere around 35-45 minutes. read more

Found this Gem while camping in Ohio. Even though there was a full house waiting for haircuts, ( a sign that they give a great haircut because people are waiting), the barbers there move the customers pretty quickly! All of those waiting received great cuts that I saw and my husbands hair is perfectly done! (Which isn't always easy due to curly thinner hair) Great place, friendly, clean and experienced! Mistake #1: I went to Super Cuts thinking that in a new area I could give them a chance. Should have thought twice. This place specifically Sue has saved me from looking a fool. I will be back. I did a cursory search for "barber shops near Beavercreek" and saw AllStar. It was only a few miles away from my work, so I figured I would give it a shot. I stopped in a little after lunch and there were a few men ahead of me. One of the men had just returned from a long mission in the Middle East. When it was time for the Serviceman to pay, the stylist said, "This one is on me. Thank you so much for your service." Awesome display of respect and that meant a lot. The experience there was equally great. They take their time and really give you a thorough cut. The straight razor neck shave was a nice touch and I felt I got a great haircut for a great value. I'll be back! Only word of caution - thorough haircuts take time. Make sure you aren't in a rush when you stop in. read more

I read the reviews and though "Why not?". Well I wish I would have kept looking. Not really a barber shop in my opinion. More like a beauty salon with three middle aged beauticians cutting hair. While there I got the feeling I was sitting in someone's living room waiting for my turn. I think I got the new girl and she tried her best but I won't be going back. Even with the hot towels and razor shave on the back of my neck it didn't really matter since the haircut was botched. Maybe in time she will get better but not for me. I have been to this place a couple times and I've never really come out with the haircut I asked for, but this most recent trip was atrocious. I asked the barber to cut an inch and a half off all around and she instead decided to just follow her own instinct and cut off all my hair. To add insult to injury she shaved off a significant portion of my right eyebrow. She did not even tell me about it when she did it either, so I had to wait until the end of my haircut to see the mistake I could tell she made. You will not find me going in All Star Barber Shop for my future haircuts. read more

I have been searching for a barber closer to home and have located the golden nugget. Mi Kyong (pronounced: me kee-yong) cut my hair exactly as I asked. This included a scalp massage, neck razor shave followed with a neck and shoulder massage. The shop is super clean, bright and airy. The senior price was an unbelievable $8:00. We contacted the shop via a message on FB, and they responded quickly to our request. My husband has mobility issues and we were hoping to find someone to come to our house to cut his hair. We called on Thursday and she came Friday after normal business hours. Mary Moore was the barber and she did an outstanding job. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the head, neck and shoulder massage. I've been going to the same barber shop for quite some time but wanted to try All Star Barbers at the suggestion of a co-worker, glad I did! This is not a chain, locally owned and embodies everything a small town barber shop should. I like the more old school traditional barbershops and this place fits the bill but they really do it right! $9.00 for a regular cut (discounts for military, fire, and police) For that $9.00 you get a very thorough hair cut (not rushed), then a steaming hot towel on the neck, neck shaved with a straight razor, alcohol splashed on after the shaved neck, baby powder, and then a hot towel on the shoulders followed by a light massage! What other place in town does all of that for under $10 (not including tip)? All of the people that work there are super friendly, the inside is super clean, 5 star place all around!
