I was in town for the Hamvention and desperately needed a haircut. This barber shop was a short distance from the hotel, so I decided to give it a shot. I checked in at the front desk with my name and what kind of cut I wanted. There was only about a five-minute wait. The haircut was quick and efficient. I got a nice treat with the steaming towel and the shoulder massage. Nice touches. If I ever get back in Dayton and need a haircut, I will return to A&D. read more

The "barbers" at A&D "Barber shop" are absolutely inexperienced! My 18 yr old son has gone there a few times, and each time, has wasted the $30+ that is cost for a haircut. Apparently, when you speak up and show a "barber" a hairstyle, you get told, "This ain't Great Clips! If you don't like the cut, I'll refer you to Mike, who cuts longer hair." Mike the "barber, who is supposedly specialized in being able to cut longer hair styles is NOT a specialist! My kid came home with a butch cut! Look out boys and men... May be the best haircut I ever had? Used several tools to cut various places. Cut hair in and all over my ears, trimmed eye brows too! After the cut, got the hot lather and straight razor to clean up around. The only thing he missed was mustash, but I can do that easy. A hot wet towel to clean up all afterwards was very comforting. The station had all kinds of modern tools including its own sink your neck fits into for a shampoo if you opt. Nothing was mentioned about it. But the sink came in handy when the razor came out. Clean, very modern, but still retains that old fashioned Men's barber shop feel. The barber was kind, courteous, respectful, and professional. He took his time and was not rushed. Very happy! Pity I can't give a zero.... I've had onIy one worse haircut in my entire life, and for $35.00 I expected a hell of a lot better. All the hot lather, hot towels, eyebrow trimming and massaging in the world couldn't polish this turd. I asked for a layered cut and got a Boot Camp buzz job, I wanted feathering and I got a High and Tight.....either this barber doesn't have scissors or he couldn't be bothered to use them. He obviously didn't listen to what I asked for, he just whipped out the clippers and started whacking, I was SHOCKED when I saw what he had done to my hair, I'm almost ashamed to go out in public, it's that bad. My only saving grace is that it WILL grow back......If you have an important occasion, and want to look your best, or unless your in the military and have to have a buzz job, stay the hell away from the Butcher Shop!! read more

Quality is there heritage. Military guy here. I've been going here for a year, and couldn't be more happy with my experience each time I sit in the chair. I have my regular barber there, but the others on the team do just as great of a job. These are real barbers, not stylists. If you're serious about a haircut that projects professionalism and ensures you look squared away, these are the barbers to go to. I am in town on business and stopped by A&D Barbershop today for a quick haircut and beard trim. The shop is located in a shopping center across the street from the Holiday Inn (where I am staying) and very near Wright State University. The shop is either newly opened or very well maintained as it was spotless. There were 5 chairs and 3 barbers working when I arrived. Although pretty busy, the man who appeared to be the owner was cutting in the first chair and greeted me as soon as I entered. I got my haircut/beard trim from a petite, dark-haired woman working at the second chair. She was pleasant, professional and thorough. Since I travel quite a bit, I get haircuts from a number of different places. Her work was up there with the best of them. The cost was $25 ($20-haircut & $5-beard). Considering the level of customer service and quality of cut, I felt like it was a bargain. If you are ever in the area, you can do no better than A&D Barbershop. Highly recommend. read more

Does not accept credit card as they claim. They accept cash only but have an atm in the lobby. The barber who cut my sons hair left my son with a mullet and bangs. Amazing place...great conversations and friendly barbers. They even do neck shaves in between haircuts...they couldn't get me in this Tuesday but shaved my neck and kept me in AF regs for a TDY on Wednesday. Definitely recommend!!! read more
