Probably one of the worst meals I've had in a while. I left half of my food - which for me is pretty unheard of. The pretzel bread starter was ok, although the smoky cheese sauce wasn't great. It left a bit of a bitter aftertaste. The chicken wings weren't bad (I had buffalo) although blue cheese dip was too creamy and I could barely taste the blue cheese. The burgers were where it went wrong. I tried to order the Kingpin (bacon cheeseburger) but was told they would only cook the burgers well done. Now if you won't do them rare, I get it, but only well done? I don't want an overcooked burger so I changed my order to the chicken burger. I expected a chicken fillet. What I got was a breaded, bland, tasteless, fatty lot of thigh (ok it was a lot of thigh, the burger was quite big). It was horrible. The bacon was fatty and undercooked. The slaw was basically just Mayo. I barely noticed the cheese, I certainly my didn't taste it. I shared fries with my companion. They were greasy and disgusting. I ate only a couple. The bill came to £50 for drinks for the two of us which is the worst £50 I've ever spent. Seriously I left this place and went to a local chicken shop and got a fillet burger that was a million times better. Oh and did I mention the slow and unhelpful service? One to avoid.

So I learned of this place via the Festival of Friendship but since I couldn't make it into town, I thought I'd check out this place with my friend. We were really excited to go bowling and the £29 (Eat, Bowl, Drink) deal they have on at the moment sounded really good. Sadly, our Sunday-funday was dampened with the inadequate food service they have here. The bowling part of it was great! Being Sunday, we were lucky to walk in and get a lane immediately. Everyone was really friendly on that side. However, the restaurant was very slow to serve us. After we finished bowling, we had to queue up for another round because a lot of people were waiting. The queue was expected to be an hour so we got a table. I didn't count how long we've been sitting, but we read the menu 3 times. Finally, the server came up to us and as we explained the £29 deal, he argued that they only have that deal from monday-friday. We waited so long for food service, that our buzzer asked us to go back to the bowling area. It was probably less than an hr wait, but still. It was all too uncomfortable. Finally, after our second bowling game, we were once sat down again, and they took 20 mins before a server came up to us. We nearly left, and in hindsight we should have just left. The food took another 20 mins to come out and the people who came in after us were served their food first. In the end, our bill came up to over £100 between me and my friend because they put all the items in individually and (AGAIN) argued that the £29 deal is for a different location. Yet, they have the promotion leaflets and posters at the venue. They were happy to adjust the cost for us, but I left feeling disappointed. This wasn't what I was expecting on a Sunday.

The bar man made me a special cocktail. Perfectly fruity and sweet!

I do love a good diner style restaurant and All Star is a very good diner! I had the buttermilk fried chicken with some extra avocado and sweet potato fries. The chicken was delicious and the avocado was ripened to perfection. I've also had their goat's cheese stack burger which was just divine! The only downside is that it's a wee bit pricey and you have to order the fries separately which makes it more expensive. But this is a great place for a once in a while treat. Their milkshakes are also really good (Oh Sweet Jeez is super chocolatey!) as are the desserts, though the main food is usually very filling so you'll probably be too stuffed! I love the cocktails here as they've a big list to chose from and the barmen are friendly and love making a cocktail of your fancy, just tell them what you like! If you fancy a game of bowling they do 2 games for £10 every Monday too!

Great service, booked a table in advance and was seated immediately, ordered popcorn bacon and squid popcorn, both were delicious! I would come here again, bowling came to £8 ish per person and was very fun!!

    Sweet potatoes but their fries!

The Kingpin Suite provides exactly that and I had such a great night here. I hired the venue for a work event so we had sole use for the evening but on most nights it is open to the public (you will need to book ahead). The food was great and very American style with mini burgers, hot dogs, pizzas and canapes. The bowling lanes are great fun and the karaoke room is sound proof meaning that it does not disturb the live music in the main room. The karaoke system is also of a high quality and has the largest collection of songs I have ever seen! There is also a hot tub which seems like a bit of an unusual addition - I didn't try that one out! The bar staff are friendly and at around £3.50 for a glass of wine the prices are reasonable. The venue is actually very difficult to find however as is also located in the same building as the Bloomsbury Lanes so it can get quite confusing when trying to locate the place. Kelly dealt with my booking and was fantastic - she made the day run as smoothly as possible and everyone had a great time. This would make a great venue for a Christmas Party.

Very disappointing customer service via email!…read more I was issued a voucher by email on 20/01/26, but it showed an expiry date of 31/12/25 -- already expired. I contacted customer services simply to confirm whether the voucher would be valid for a booking at Holborn on 14/03/26 (my birthday), or to request a corrected replacement code if not. Despite multiple emails, the same staff member repeatedly avoided answering this very straightforward question. Literally just writing one liners! I was told "this should be fine" and "yes as it was issued 20/01/26", but there was no clear confirmation that the voucher would actually be accepted on my booking date. When I asked for clarification or for the query to be passed to someone else, I was repeatedly asked to forward the original email instead of receiving a direct answer. All I wanted was written confirmation I could rely on before making a booking. The lack of clarity, accountability, and basic reassurance has completely undermined my confidence in using the voucher at all. Poor communication and an unnecessarily frustrating experience. I'm thinking of going elsewhere!!!

Let me be your Michelle Pfeiffier circa 1978- Let's bowl, let's bowl, let's rock-'n-roll. Hey, come on, let's get this show on the road. Let's bowl, let's bowl, let's rock-'n-roll. We're sittin' on a bomb that's about to explode. Sadly lyrics alone fail to describe the true catchiness of this tune. Once it's in your head it's there all day. A-L-L D-A-Y. And so it was that a brief off hand joke about knocking over the recyling bottles with a galia melon that I was inspired, no compelled, to make a trip down to the newest All Star Lanes Brick Lane style. Being a big fan of American kitch, I was quite excited about visiting this bowling alley come diner come cocktail bar and asthetically at least it didn't disappoint. From the waitress' outfit to the old school tunes, this was 1950s Americana at it's best. I challenge anyone not to raise a smile when Go Johnny Go Go comes on the jukebox! Food-wise, All Star Lanes is pretty decent too. As well as a classic burger and steak selection, a little thought has clearly been put in to including a few posh salads and tasty pasta's. The booze menu is also fairly impressive ('Elderflower and Gin- who knew you would be such a delicious party in my mouth?') and so it was at this point that my expectations for the bowling itself were growing through the roof. Sadly it was here that I was disappointed. Having waited two hours for a lane (we foolishly hadn't booked) we were anticipating a marathon bowling session to truely establish the all time champion bowler. Twenty minutes, £13 and one game later we realised it wasn't to be. Yup, you gotta pay for these trendy surroundings! £6.50 per game, per person and a standard booking of only one game per couple- we found the whole thing a little anti-climatic. Especially after I rolled a gutter ball four times in a row... And so it is with that warning that I give a dubious Yelp recommendation. Do please go, enjoy the food and drinks, the music and quirky uniforms BUT book ahead, take your wallet and make sure you're not rushed into a one-game-blink-and-you'll-miss-it bowling blimp!

The venue is cute and clean, and they were pretty good about making sure everyone adheres to the booking times. The hour we booked flew by - with six people on our team, we only managed to squeeze in one game. But that's a pro and a con: it's a busy venue, so we were always checking the clock to see how much time we had left. It was actually a bit of a killjoy. It's a nice experience, but I felt that everything -- including the food and the cocktails -- were overpriced. I know that's the trade-off you make for having a central location, but I would have preferred to have a more old-school bowling alley experience, even at the cost of having to travel farther out... you know, the kind where you goof around with a few close friends while putting away onion rings and beer into the wee hours of the night while "Roxanne" plays for the fifth time over the speakers. I don't need my bowling to be glamorous, but I suppose that's a personal preference.

Is anyone really very skilled at bowling? In some sports, the older you get = the better and more skilled you get... in the case of bowling, the older you get = the more you goof off and drink up which is actually perfectly convenient here because of the large, fully stocked bar area. Bowling at Number 10 is a multifaceted event applicable to family fun, a great kids party, a preteen flirt fest or an adult's drinking game so Number 10 can be filled with a variety of different people on different agendas which I think adds to the charm. They have bowling specials like "buy 2 games get one free", the ever popular Blacklight Bowling and there are special discounts during certain hours on odd days. My best advice would be to check the website before you go~ there might be a coupon! All the screens are bright & modern and there are lane bumpers and ball slides available for those novice bowlers not confident in their follow through. Also, if you decide to forgo the challenge altogether, there are many arcade games to enjoy, no dance floor but a good mix of music playing and always some sort of sport viewable on the TVs in the bar area. One of the best features I find is the security at the door. The guard does not allow great big groups of youngins to come and loiter around without adult supervision. I know that makes me sound like a mean old lady but that's a risk I'm willing to take because I loath anarchy and they are usually the culprits.
