When we initially contacted him, we were concerned because the big pool supply place in Bakersfield was telling us we needed to drain our pool and pour tons of chemicals to make it right. Erik was able to diagnose that this was not the case, that rather our pool had just been drained and just needed the initial chemicals to begin (saving us tons of money and aggravation). He does our weekly maintenance and is good at helping us with any issues or questions we might have. Our pool is always nice and clean all year round. We finally had enough and fired them today. We have paid for services that we have not received including replacement of our pool light. They acid washed the pool and left sections unfinished for months and months. Reminders had them promising that it would be taken care of but it wasn't. The owner doesn't do the work himself but hires out others and doesn't oversee or check the work. It's like he can't be bothered. They did a new epoxy coating on the pool last week. (Not the owner but someone he hired out). The owner never came to check the results or fill the pool again and do new starter chemicals. After almost a week and no response from them my husband fired them and filled the pool himself. Then he went and checked the pool filters today that have supposedly been getting cleaned weekly and they were filthy. He spent hours on the pool today doing work that they were supposed to be doing. They are not responsive and their lack of customer service and communication is a big reason for why I do not recommend them...along with the false promises and lack of quality work. The wife who actually does the weekly service is nice and always prompt but it doesn't make up for all the rest. There are many other pool service companies in town. We are tired of putting up with this one. You shouldn't either.

Another plumber ran a camera through the line and found that they had never properly connected the new line to the sewer - leaving a section of very old pipe that roots had gotten into. I reached out multiple times via email to see if they'd honor the warranty and no one ever responded. I tried their listed phone number as well, but it was disconnected. At this point it may be a small claims issue. If I were you, I'd avoid Icon at all costs.

I'm smarter than ABQ Plumbing and knew they were crooks. But, the ABQ guy fiddled with my water heater, causing a leak. I had water all over the garage. Icon came immediately, found the problem and fixed it. I had asked them if they had time to flush both water heaters while they were here, and they did. They also fixed the release valve so it was up to code. I so appreciate the help and quality work they did at my house. If I ever need plumbing again, I will call Icon. Thanks guys.

He could not get the brown algae under control, I thought of getting a few estimates from Yelp. I got 4 quotes. Only Miguel made an effort to come by early friday evening (July 12) to look the pool over and see what needed to be done. His first observation was the lack of chlorine in the pool. He explained that was part of the problem and causing the algae growth. His quote was similar to the previous company. The other 3 companies did not bother to come and visit. One company requested photos while the other two just gave me quotes. 2 out of the 3 companies quoted $30 to $50 higher per month th what Miguel quoted me. And those quotes did not include chemicals while with Miguel, his quote was for everything. It will be 3 weeks this friday and I could not be happier. The pool looks clean and devoid of any algae.
