I called a different company and they came out two days later and did the job.

When the techs arrived, they said they could not inspect with a video. I called and inquired as to whether this would lower the price. "No". Ok. They had to move my stove, which rests on granite tiled floor. An awful grinding noise, (which I should have immediately called out). I wanted the techs to show me how dirty it was and their first pass had just a bit of creosote. But they made sure to mention that it was "really" dirty and that I should schedule once a year. Ok. But, I used to do my own at a previous home and compared to that, it was NOT really dirty by any means. They were done in 10 minutes. Pushed back the stove and I paid them cash. In doing so, they charged me $300. Thank you. However, when they left, I gave everthing a closer look. The original debris that came out of the pipe was still on the floor behind the stove (Are you kidding me? Your vaccuum was right there and could have sucked this up in under 5 seconds) and then I noticed the crazy scratches on the granite. I called back office; sent in photos and explained what happened. I demanded a fix (Not rocket science, as the stone has to be sanded and polished), but is it my responsibility to do the job correctly that I paid $300 for)? The back office asked me if I had pictures of the floor before the techs scratched it? Ah, no. Supposedly I'm to expect a call back from the owner. Been a week and 1/2. Crickets.

Todd and his team said the furnace was fine but the duct work was a mess. I knew this but was not pointing it out to contractors. He then suggested zoning the house while fixing the ducts. My house is bigger and there are several areas of the house that zoning would work great at. Now that we are into winter I am really happy. The team spent a couple weeks fixing everything. Todd has checked back in to make sure all is good. We used to have parts of the house that would not stay warm but not any longer. Now I can also bring the temperature down in areas that are not in use and quickly heat them back up when we want to be in that part of the house. Most of all I appreciated Todd's way of working with me. I had a couple questions and some concerns both during the bid and installation. He took the time to explain the why and what of the job. He made some adjustments to the design based on our discussions and stood firm on other design aspects which he felt were needed to keep the job quality high.

This was after it took them about a month to even get started. We secured financing for the work, but when the work started, a number of things we had discussed weren't what they were doing at all. We had discussed a jacuzzi style tub with jets and wiring going into the wall with that, and that is not the tub that we got. They offered to replace it, but of course, that was going to cost more. We asked to have a plumbing leak inspected and fixed in another bathroom, that we were then told we understood would be covered in the contract and financing that we had secured. Once work began, suddenly that was going to cost us more. What should have been a 2 week project at most that we called in June to have fixed, I'm writing on October 4th, and after waiting for 2 days being told the painter will "be there today" and holding my daily plans for that, finally he showed on the 3rd day. Now I'm left with an unfinished wall in the room they were projected to work on, and a gaping hole in my bathroom wall upstairs because as a disabled veteran on a fixed income that had secured financing for everything, I can't suddenly handle the surprise charges like putting the wall back together where they cut it out, despite a detailed discussion prior to the start of work that they would build an access panel into that wall. If you have work you need to get done, you're better off holding your pipes together and hoping the hard water we get locally leaves behind enough residue to eventually patch the leak itself than hiring these guys. Would not do business with again.

We didn't want to spend $5,000+ on a whole house generator. When I called they actually listened to me and didn't pressure me into getting a whole house generator. Instead, I had them install an interlock kit with a portable generator for my 960 sf. house. We've had to use it twice now since the ice storm and the portable generator with interlock kit has powered virtually our whole house! No issues! My fridge works, all bedroom lights work, 2 bathroom lights work, sump pump works all because of the interlock kit. We are very happy we did this and can't them Ashcott Electrical enough for installing it.
