I have come to this building a couple of times. Each time was for a class I signed up with a different studio. I guess studios rent the spaces for holding classes. The dance floors were clean and spacious. The restrooms were also clean. Some room was equipped with fun lights. The only downside I would say is they do not have AC. Teacher Lindsay was great, hence the one star. I would give it zero otherwise. The owner has an aggressive tone with children and a greedy cancellation policy. We had something come up in late August and needed to cancel our summer camp. I called and they said I was 6 days past the cut off. I was giving them 45 days notice of cancellation, this was not last minute. I tried to level with them since there were 45 days to fill my daughters spot. They still refused. Online there is a waitlist for all their summer camps, which made the whole situation confusing and frustrating. They could easily fill our spot with someone from the waitlist, but they still refused! Why have a waitlist if you don't actually fill empty spots? I find that too hard to believe that they didn't take our money and then charge someone else for our spot. Getting paid twice! No one would have been left high and dry if they had just refunded us in full. I would have enrolled her in their fall class, but they wouldn't even let me do that! They refunded us $92.50 instead of the full $225 and told us never to come back. After they refunded us they stopped payment on the check!!! So we got nothing! Do not bring your kids here. read more

My daughter's first attending of a dance class was here at All That Dance during the pandemic in 2020. She took a Beginning Jazz lesson that started over Zoom. During this time of uncertainty and concern for safety, ATD provided a quality structured lesson, fun, and activity for my daughter while staying safe. Every week she looked forward to seeing her teacher and other dancers online. The way the studio used technology during this time was impressive. When the allowing of more indoor gathering and activities was announced by officials, All That Dance followed protocols and invited the dancers into the studio. Communication from ATD via email and social media always kept us informed. Masked and distanced, my daughter was always so proud to share after class, what they learned and the fun that was had. With summer now here, we are enjoying the outdoors and looking forward to registering soon to return in the fall at All That Dance. My daughter is excited to attend her second year with jazz and I am happy to have her at a wonderful and inclusive studio. read more

We have found our second home at All That Dance. Our daughter has been dancing at All That Dance since she was three years old and seven years later we can't imagine ever being anywhere else. The team of teachers are incredible - encouraging, nurturing, creative and just simply fun. Our daughter is her most confident at ATD - she feels safe, comfortable, challenged and genuinely happy. The overall culture at ATD is a reason we have stayed - not competitive (amongst students or parents) and simply wholesome and welcoming to all kiddos and families. We drive out to ATD from South Seattle five days a week - but it's SO worth it to know how happy and confident our daughter is every time she walks in and out of the studio. Both of my daughters began at All That Dance when they were three years old. One of them continued through age 18. It was amazing and magical for both of them. They were encouraged, welcomed and taught so skillfully by so many amazing teachers. Each Spring, each class gets to perform as part of a showcase at an actual theatre and perform a dance they learned over a period of many weeks. They get costumes and have so much fun! Although the studio has grown over the years, it has a friendly, family-like quality that is so warm and welcoming. Teachers take extra care to make sure each child is included and learning in a safe and caring way. The studio managed to continue to hold classes (via Zoom) during the pandemic and even managed to put on an end-of-season show. We were so grateful for that! Maybe the camps are good for kids who have done classes here throughout the school year, but my daughter couldn't get comfortable because her teacher didn't have the bandwidth to engage her. Not surprising, since said teacher had a dozen 3-4 year olds to deal with, and in that situation it's near impossible to spend more than a few seconds with any one child who might be feeling nervous. After two attempts we decided this camp wasn't going to work for us. This is the only summer camp she's had an issue with, and just last week she had a great week at another dance camp. I asked the manager for a partial refund, given that she wouldn't be participating and the problem might have been mitigated by having more than one teacher for so many children. She responded that "12 to 1 is our ratio," which is surprising given that it wouldn't be legal at a daycare in Washington State. Steer clear. read more

We love All That Dance! My daughter and I did the Parent and Tot class last year and she absolutely loved it. This year she is thrilled to be in the ballet class with Teacher Maygan. The new location is beautiful and has a really good coffee shop with free wifi inside for parents who want to grab a coffee and get some work done while the kids are in class. Registration for classes is online and super easy. Very reasonable tuition. I really like the "brain dance" concept they use to help children learn. Highly recommend if you are looking for a fun structured activity for kids! read more

We signed up for a trial parent and tot class for my 2 year old. She loved it so much that we signed her up. This particular class (we took) taught the kids about rhythm and incorporated stories, rhymes and musical instruments. They also offer various dance classes for teens and adults. (I took a hip hop class a while back which was fun.) There's a mini coffee shop inside (wi-fi as well) so you can have something to sip, eat and browse the internet while your child takes a class. read more

We've had a terrific experience with ATD over the past year and my toddler daughter simply adores teacher Maygan. Maygan is so invested in the kids, and she's patient, nurturing, amazing! She's helped our shy toddler gain confidence, learn to follow complex directions, and to genuinely LOVE dance. All That Dance has been such a great dance studio for our family. With several in our family having dance experiences there, we've taken advantage of so much of what they have to offer. My recent graduate in particular went from preschool classes to all the amazing opportunities for advanced high school dancers at ATD, and her two younger siblings are following in her footsteps. I've even put on some tap shoes and had a blast taking adult classes. There really is something for everyone at All That Dance! Have been taking ATD's drop-in Ballet since summer '14, with two different teachers now, neither of whom lets me get away with any slipshod ballet technique, and both of whom seem attuned to each dancer's level of skill and readiness for new material. Actual live piano accompaniment makes for pretty nice classes. Other ATD staff are pleasant and efficient. Took off a rating star because ATD Wedgwood has no changing facilities for guys, so I have to use their spotless, well-appointed loo to get into dance gear. Also the old brick construction is nothing to write home about: the smallish studios feel rather short, cramped, and narrow; unusable wall barres that are too low for adults; kinda claustrophobic low ceilings with fluorescents, and street windows at one end that are not opened--good for HVAC and keeping traffic noise low I suppose, but the lack of natural air circ gives me a slightly stifled feeling. Finally I wish ATD would tack on 15-30 more minutes per lesson--I'd pay more!--because it seems the class ends just as I'm warmed up and moving. read more

My daughter started dancing with ATD when she was 3, and never stopped until she left home for college. From one 45-minute a week class that summer to classes five days a week when she graduated, ATD became central to her life. Dance classes from ballet to modern to lyrical, friends, Honor Society, student teaching (mentee program), ATD provided her opportunities not just to learn dance technique (which she absolutely did), but to thrive as a student and a leader. It's not cheap, that's for sure, but it was worthwhile for our family. Enrollment has come a long way from standing in line outside the Wedgwood studio, and communication has improved as well. All That Dance ROCKS!!! I have 2 daughters who are taking classes now. The younger one is very serious about her dancing. My older daughter took only one class when she was 4 and thought it wasn't her thing. However, she signed back up this year for a hip-hop class and she loves it! The staff and all the instructors work so well with the kids. They always have such positive attitudes and so encouraging to all the dancers. They teach in a way that makes the classes fun for the kids and at the same time challenges them and they enjoy it! I have always had all my questions answered and felt they took the time to look into each situation. I have liked the option to email them with my questions and they are always good about responding. My kids love dancing at All That Dance! I am so glad we found them! read more

My daughter and I take the Dancing Tots class in Wedgwood and love it. My daughter started when she was 2 and very shy; now she's 3 and has really blossomed thanks to Teacher Michaela. Teacher Michaela helped her get comfortable, was patient, offered her alternatives that involved mom, and didn't mind if she just didn't want to do something. My daughter in turn has learned to follow instructions, is more bold, participates in groups better, and is more aware of her body movements. I really like how laid back the school environment is. It's all about having fun so the kids can wear whatever outfit they like. Some are in tutus and polka dot tights, some are in sweats and I love that. There's a great play area by the cafe that the younger sibling likes, a Rite Aid and QFC across the street to do errands, and parking in the neighborhood is super easy. Even though we are moving further away from Wedgwood, we'll be coming back here to take the next Creative Ballet class. read more

Just finished the year of adult beginning tap, and it was so much fun. Adults need a different kind of teaching from kids, and Maygan was just perfect. Positive, fun, kept my expectations realistic and my frustrations low (I wanted to of course learn everything in like one lessons, right?). Only good things to say about them. read more

My 18 year old daughter has been dancing with All that Dance for 10 years. She had no prior dance experience but wanted to try dance. From her very first class, she has loved her teachers, the class curriculum and the entire community at ATD. In fact, this past year she signed up for THREE classes! The ATD community is unconditionally inclusive and supportive of all dancers no matter what their skill level. When the pandemic hit and the studio went remote, the staff at ATD quickly and gracefully pivoted to on line learning. Each week the teachers showed up ready to teach classes and also ready to support the students emotionally. There was a check in at the start of every class which allowed the students to connect with each other and their teachers even though they were each in their own homes. My daughter continued to look forward to her zoom classes each week. I would highly recommend All that Dance to dancers of all ages, ability levels and aspirations.They will do whatever they can to accommodate and support each student. Please be aware that ATD has recently asked all of their dancers and parents thereof to enter positive reviews of the studio, so keep that in mind when you read other recent reviews. Here's your ATD checklist: Are you happy when your daughter has to take classes she hates so she can take the ones she likes? Do you like your daughter coming home in tears? Does it make you feel warm inside when your daughter has to go to class when she's sick or injured, and if she doesn't, she gets cut from the performance? Do you like spending lots of money on costumes she'll use only once for shows? Do you prefer Instructors who make sure those costumes don't overlap, so you get to spend separately for each one, show after show, year after year? My 13 year old daughter has been dancing off and on at All that Dance since she was an "itty bitty." I have been so pleased with the experience...the teachers are knowledgeable, kind, and attentive to her individual needs. She has learned a lot and felt accepted for her abilities. Summer camp wise, I need to raise the red flag. My kid, who has been to all manner of camps happily for the past 5 years, has come home crying two days in a row. She says she doesn't feel safe there and people aren't nice. I have no illusions that my kid is perfect but she has never been anything but happy with any other camp, and I have never heard one word about a behavior problem. At All That Dance, she got put in time out. So, I don't know what really went on, but I pulled her and I am less than impressed. Buyer beware. read more

After having taken several semesters of classes at All That Dance, my young daughter developed separation anxiety caused by one unkind teacher. It became such an issue that she didn't want to continue on with the classes and the summer camps that we had prepaid ($925). There was no refund, even for camps not taken. My advice is to check out the teacher first to make sure there's a good rapport between your child and the teacher. My second advice is that the summer camps are not as good as the classes. My daughter just wrapped her first year at All That Dance, and we couldn't be happier that this wonderful studio is in our area. We transferred from the community center dance programs, which gave my (now kindergarten) daughter a great start, but lacked the structure and professional feel of a full-time dance center. ATD is lovely. A wonderful supportive environment, with age-appropriate dance classes that make musical movement fun and exciting for the littlest students. My daughter LOVED teacher Phillipa and her helper Toby. They were so gentle, easy-going, and encouraging, allowing the little 5 and 6 year olds to enjoy their introduction to tap and ballet with their sweet dance games and fun childhood moves and music selections. The culmination of the year is with an amazing ensemble recital. The costumes are gorgeous, and all designed by a local Seattle seamstress (I love supporting yet another small Seattle business this way). This review does not reflect on the teachers there but rather on the owner's awful way of resolving issues. I had mistakenly registered for the wrong class for my 4 yo daughter in August and knowing that, I called the school immediately to correct that. Then I was told that there would be a $20 drop fee, in which, I had agreed to pay. I was told that my refund will be 10 business days. After waiting 12 business days, I called about the refund and was told that they don't know when I'll get it because their manager is out of the office. I had to dispute the charges given that it is sitting on my credit card. Their manager contacted me and apologized for the late refund and agreed to credit me back the original amount minus $20 drop fee. We thought we had a resolution. Then the owner emailed me and refused to give me my refund on my credit card and told me to come pay the $20 drop fee in person, and that my daughter will be drop from all classes. I could not believe how she can override her own manager's agreement with me, and ordered her staff in the email to drop my daughter from all classes. It is beyond my understanding why someone would do that, except out of spike. I would never enroll my daughter there again given that kind of attitude. read more
