I also asked how often children gets panoramic x-ray the doctor said about every 5 years ( assistant said every 3 to 5 years) then I asked if they had requested dental records to see last time it was done since my children are new to them( their first visit) they said NO! this is so unacceptable! what if the other dentist got this done recently; Bluffdale dental did not care enough to know this information to protect my children against unnecessary radiation exposure which can be harmful to their health. Not a sincere apology or any effort to understand the client's point of view. I am devastated. As far as the visit went my children were very impressed with how well the staff treated them.

When I showed up to my appointment I was met by Dr. Proctor who was apparently a few years out of dental school. I had to laugh and I explained to him I asked for the seasoned dentist upfront due to my fear of all things dentistry and wished us both luck. He was AWESOME! His personality is hilarious. He would joke when I needed a joke. Made me feel comfortable from minute one. We are many appointments, fillings and crowns in and he is still my all time favorite dentist and I've had many in my nearly sixty years. My permanent crown today went on so perfectly I was in and out in no time . Thank you Taylor for assisting ,you were great too. I'm so happy I just had to leave a review! The hygienists are always rushed. ALWAYS. I had several different hygienists too. I have been going there twice a year for several years. I always questioned myself WHY. It was usually not a good experience, but I figured...it's twice a year. I just put up with it. However, my opinion has now changed. I definitely won't be going back. The staff is unprofessional. Especially, the office manager. I expressed my concern about their 3% fee to use our health equity debit card for an upcoming procedure. If you don't pay via check or CASH, they charge a 3% fee. No other medical offices do this, in my experience. I use my health equity card for all of our medical expenses. When I told them I won't be coming back. The office manager was extremely rude. I just received a bill from my last appointment. I declined the option for a fluoride treatment. They charged me for it anyway. I declined it due to their added fees. I nave never paid out of pocket prior for the standard exam and x rays. They must be hurting for money. Real classy Genesis Dental! I will be fighting your bogus charge.

I do recommend them 100% I don't feel pressured at all to get services done either. Their teeth cleaning is good. They don't polish your teeth like other offices I have been to in the past. Maybe I need to ask but over all good cleaning. I had root canal done and dr. Patch was very gentle and kind allowed for breaks if needed. They do give you option to watch Netflix during your procedure. Which is cool if you need a distraction. And they give complimentary facials after cleaning. Also call for correct office hours. I started coming here about 9 months ago. I worked at a facility with children with mental health complications, it was a group home. I was assaulted by one of my students and broke two of my teeth. I had to have a crown put on one and a tooth pulled, an implant placed and then the new crown put on the implant. When I first started coming to Riverton Dental it was great. They helped me immensely with Workmans Comp. I called them when everything first happened and they said they had worked with Workmans comp before. They did a majority of the work at Riverton Dental, I had my Implant placed at Salt Water Dental. Mandi told me that those offices work together when implants are placed. I loved Salt Water Dental. They are beyond kind there, I even confided in Dr. Jensen about what was going on at Riverton Dental. He apologized on their behalf and asked me to give them another chance. That he goes from Salt Lake to Riverton Dental for his work and wouldn't go anywhere else. Come to find out the reason he was telling me this is because is he the owner of both Riverton Dental and Salt Water Dental. Now getting to the real issues. Lindsay called me Monday the 17th to make an appointment to get the crown placed on my implant for Wednesday the 19th of February, I asked her if she had any sooner appointments because I was beyond excited and she said no, I asked her to call me if she had any cancelled appointments because I live close to the office and would like to get in ASAP. She was kind and told me yes. Wednesday came and I got a call first thing in the morning, I thought they were calling me to tell me to come in early. It was Mandi. She was letting me know that she was not going to place the crown because my workman's comp had not paid her. She was not able to get ahold of him and they were not calling her back. I ended up asking her to give me workman's comp phone number and I called and they picked up first ring. We ended up three waying Mandi, he let her know that she had not sent in any of the bills and if she sent him the bills he would get a check out the same day for they to place the implant. She thanked him and hung up. I called Mandi back. She still said she is not going to place the crown until she got payment and a few other things she said to me that was uncalled for was "Its your fault that insurance has not paid me, they are your insurance and your problem not mine." another thing, one of my teeth were in the process of decaying, so I think that is one of the reasons it broke as easy as it did but she said "We both know that break didn't happen at work and you are lucky that workman comp is paying for that" if you work for a dental office why would you say something like that? I didn't even get an apology for it. Just so that she knows everything that happened to me is a video tape at my work and they can see it broke my teeth. We had great video cameras and they took pictures after and sent them to my "insurance" I fully recommend Dr Jensen at Salt Water, however I do not recommend Riverton Dental. I ended up going to a different office to have the implant placed. That office was great. They were the one that told me more about what was going on Riverton Dental and how many complaints they are getting. We actually had a conference call with Dr. Jensen. He ended up releasing the tooth to the new dental office. He did say a couple things that stood out to me that was a little bit upsetting. He said "We need to give her the tooth and put this down as a bad experience and cut ties" He is a great dentist but he needs to know what is going on in his other offices. If it was me as the owner I would want to know what was going on. Mandi did tell me as well if I wrote this review that she was going to "challenge" the review. She can try to challenge the review but what I know what my experience was.

I had a really disappointing experience with this office. I came in with clear concerns about my…read morebite and ongoing pain, and instead of being taken seriously, I felt completely dismissed. After a recent procedure, I could immediately tell something was off with my bite -- one side was hitting first and causing noticeable pressure and discomfort. I also started experiencing significant symptoms including headaches and what felt like migraine-type pain, which was very unusual for me. I brought this up and even went back for two follow-up visits, but my concerns were essentially brushed off each time. At my last appointment, I was told to just wait two weeks and that it would "fix itself," which was very frustrating given how uncomfortable I was. I ended up seeking a second opinion, where another dentist found that both the new filling and crown were extremely high. He spent about 30 minutes carefully adjusting my bite and explained that there was no way it would have corrected on its own. Almost immediately after the adjustment, my symptoms -- including the migraine-like headaches -- significantly improved and even resolved, which confirmed that something was wrong all along. It was upsetting to feel dismissed multiple times when something was clearly off. Being heard matters, especially when it comes to dental work that affects your bite, comfort, and overall health. I wish more time and care had been taken to listen and properly evaluate the issue instead of dismissing it.

Dentist initially told me I'd need to see their endodontist who only comes in part time, but after doing my "pulpectomy to get me out of pain", the dentist told me that he "had basically done all the work already, and he might as well finish it up for me and save me money and time"... however even after 2 courses of antibiotics I was still hurting up until we finally put the crown on in April, almost 4 months later at this point. I even mentioned to the dentist that, previously, I had had a root canal done here and they had missed a canal, and I was worried this was the case as I was still in pain. Dentist assured me he got everything, put the crown on, and sent me on my way. Tooth continued to hurt. I called in May and they told me to give it more time. Finally went to see a different dentist and of June, who immediately sent me to an endodontist, as I was STILL in pain. Endodontist has confirmed that the dentist missed a canal, and the infection is now so bad that we've had to change antibiotics already just trying to get it under control. Endodontist informed me that static x rays do not show the entire picture, which is all this dentist office uses, and is likely part of how this canal got missed. So now, after 7 months of pain, I'm having to pay to have a second root canal done on this same tooth.... So not only did he not save me money or time, I'm instead having to pay double, the infection is possibly down into my bone, and the pain has been absolutely unreal. Please don't trust this business with anything more than cleanings. Edit: it looks like I will likely lose my tooth even after this second root canal, as the infection was down to the bone and had been left to fester for too long. So now after 7 months of pain and paying for multiple root canals on the same tooth, I'll be without a molar.

As luck would have it, an appointment was available to get my son in within a few days. The entire staff was professional and friendly-and made sure to explain everything they were doing while treating us like we were VIPs. I bet they treat everyone like that, but we sure felt special. Dr. Kwant was just as fabulous as I expected-he was thorough in his exam and then explanation of the procedure. He even gave us his cell phone number in case we had any issues after hours. (We didn't need to contact him, but it was a nice gesture!) My son felt at ease and was grateful to be on the other side of the tooth pain.
