Sadly my nan passed away in the early hours of this morning and the night matron was amazing with me on the phone when I rang. I have rang several times over the last few days and the staff have been lovely and nothing is too much trouble for them. I would really like to thank all the staff who made my nan comfortable at the time she needed it most and a special BIG thanks to the night matron who was on when my nan passed away (24/11/2012) and spoke to me at 6.45 a.m, what lovely caring people.

I had my baby here in December 2006 and it was a fantastic experience. The midwives were amazing and they did everything in their power to ensure that we stuck to my birth plan. I ended up having a waterbirth in the delivery suite (sadly the birth unit was shut for Christmas!) and it was everything I had dreamed that it would be. The aftercare was excellent and the wards were relaxed and friendly. I've also made three trips to the out of hours doctor, once for myself and once for each of my children. There's often a long wait, but the waiting room as fairly comfortable and there are plenty of toys for the little ones. It's certainly a lot better maintained than some of the hospitals I've been to.

The ability to make an appointment at this centre rather than having to wait at a tradtional donor session is absolutely great - you turn up, you donate and you're off again within 45 minutes! The centre is clean and pleasant and the waiting room is more akin to a doctors surgery than waiting room for a donor session. The booking system works really well - and after your donation, you can make another appointment straight away before you leave. The smallest issue is that parking is limited, unless you go to donate after the bulk of staff at Radio Gloucestershire have left work for the day!! I've been a donor for a long time, but always go to the donor centre now rather than a mobile donation session - it's just much simpler.

Staff are very friendly, and chat with you while you donate. I have only had one aborted donation at this centre, but that was probably me moving my arm slightly between them locating a vein and putting the needle in. They also have a large biscuit-basket for when you are finished, a good selection of newspapers, and they make you a nice cup of tea afterwards. There are slight problems - it's a bit of a way out of the centre of Gloucester if you are walking (but it's in close proximity of the hospital, which is probably a good thing) and it can be a bit hard to get an appointment. But all in all, who needs to wait for ages in a chilly church hall when you can donate at a centre such as this?

She didn't even acknowledge us as was busy with paperwork then when did notice said she's busy currently. I informed her that my daughter was having an allergic reaction(this was quite clear as her lips were extremely swollen and she was dribbling and couldn't talk). the receptionist said that they were no appointments and said to go the pharmacy. As a medical professional myself who works in a GP surgery aswell as out of hours I know fully well that if a patient came in with a severe allergic reaction, they would not be turned away. Disgusting behaviour. my daughter was promptly treated by a lovely doctor in A+E who also couldn't believe my daughter wasn't looked at by a clinician.

The doctors are nice and very patient (excuse the pun!!) and the nurses are lovely too. The other staff are very friendly as well - if you have an NHS voucher but don't want to use it straight away, they won't push you but they'll hold it until you need to.
