What a see-saw of an experience.
We arrived and found a quaint, cosy bar with a roaring fire, perfect on a chilly day.
When I ordered, the poor young boy behind the bar was doing his best, alone, while a young woman employee stood and watched, in that peculiarly blank way that only teenagers can manage.
But - we had our drinks, and sat and talked happily while we waited.
And waited. And waited. Everyone else ate, while my friend and I waited....
I get a bit grumpy when I'm hungry.
Eventually, we asked - and were told they'd forgotten our meals. Argh!
The young man came and apologised. The young woman wafted about ineffectually.
But then our lunch finally arrived, and was delicious! And so I was fed and happy and un-grumpy once again. So -- three stars seems fair, the mid point of the see-saw. read more
