When my close friend died in January 2021, she left a three story house in Lawrenceville crammed to…read morethe rafters with a mix of antiques, ordinary household stuff, and junk. Her only relatives are in Arkansas, so my son ended up taking care of the clean up. She was 80 when she passed and during the last decade, she had increasing mental and emotional problems, and became a hoarder, in addition to never cleaning. My son spent weeks throwing out the worst of the debris, but when we contacted Sue Baumgart at Before You Move the place was still a disaster. My first impulse was an embarrassment to have people see how bad it was, but Sue was quite reassuring and told us she's used to dealing with hoarders and messes. Sue and her team spent two or three days organizing, cleaning, pricing, and staging the sale. When I saw the photos and video tour on her website, I was absolutely stunned. Of course they couldn't do anything about cracked walls and peeling paint, but they hauled out trash and cleaned up the sale items. Before, I was worried that no one would even want to touch the things because they were covered with years of dust and cat hair. The video tour and photos made everything look great, which took a miracle, believe me. Before You Move did a wonderful job advertising the sale, and they really knew how to manage pricing and security. Many of the large antique furniture pieces didn't sell and my son has to dispose of them, but you can't force people to buy stuff. I've read several articles with titles like, "Nobody Wants Your Grandma's Dining Room Set" pointing out that big, bulky, antique furniture is simply not wanted by younger people today who mainly want lighter, airier, minimalist decor. I don't blame Sue because they didn't sell, I'm only adding this for the purpose of keeping expectations reasonable. Since my son and I aren't the owners of all this stuff the actual contract and financial dealings involved the relatives in Arkansas, but they were very pleased when they saw the set up online. If you find yourself in a similar situation of liquidating a home's contents, I would recommend Before You Move.

ROCK STARS in the region for Estate Sales/liquidation that is Sue Baumgart and her" Before You…read moreMove" crew!! If you are in need of the BEST Estate Sales' Liquidation Team in the region, who know the value of items, are extremely professional, can pull off a large estate sale in one week's time (prepping and the actual sale) and have phenomenal contacts in the antique and collectible industry..."Before You Move" is it!! Our parents' hobby for over 25 years was buying and selling antiques and collectibles. We began cleaning out our family house (of 55 years) in Reserve Township to sell this summer and were concerned about finding the right estate sales' team who would know how to sort through and price the 250+ boxes of antiques and collectibles. We hired Sue and her team from Before You Move after having four different estate sale liquidators come through our house for quotes. Before you Move was actually recommended by one of the estate sale liquidators who felt they could not accommodate how large our sale would be. Sue and her team were amazing! Sue has a large crew (6 to 7 staff) and an appraiser in the group as well. Grace, the appraiser, is a key part of the rock star team. The first morning of our sale there were over 70 people lined up around the block by 7:30 am and we didn't open the doors until 8:00 am. We even had someone come in from West Virginia that night before and sleep in their van overnight. Grace worked the crowd that first morning before the doors opened and I could see that she and Sue have a loyal following. Sue and her team did a phenomenal job at setting up in three days' time for a two day sale (our house looked like an antique store!) and their pricing was accurate. They know the value of items and know how to price them right to sell. They made a big dent in the amount of items we had through this sale. We were thrilled with the results of our sale (monetarily as well) and everything Sue said that she and her crew would do for us, they did. Her contacts are priceless! Thank you Sue, Grace and the whole Before You Move Team!

I have never experienced an Estate Sale where the company hired treated customers in such an ill…read moremanner. Only a few items were priced and waited in line for 40 minutes to be given prices that were ridiculously overpriced. The comments being "how long would you wait at Walmart". Witnessed the estate sale company being very rude, loud and insulting. They are not professional at all. Hiring them to run a sale for you from what I saw would not be in your favor. Many customers walked out the door saying how rude these ladies were.

We recently contracted Cleveland Estate Liquidators to help clear my mother's home after her move…read moreto an independent living facility. I was thoroughly disappointed with Jessica, the owner. I found her to be deceitful, dishonest and thoroughly disagreeable. Her approach appears to follow three basic steps: (a) assert that there is nothing in the house that will sell for much, (b) sell items for far more than she claims to have sold them for, and (c) provide a fictitious, understated accounting of what was sold. She grudgingly provided the accounting only after I pressed her for it, and even then it was incomplete and misleading. On the day following conclusion of the sale (which Jessica ended early so she could tend to her dog), my family and I began to donate the remaining items to local charities: Savers, the Cleveland Furniture Bank and a group of Syrian refuge families we had met day after the estate sale. When I asked questions about the amounts for which various items items had been sold, Jessica's response via text was "you're giving things away and you question the prices of items I sold?" Donating items to a worthy cause once the sale has contractually ended is my prerogative. Getting an honest and accurate accounting of all items Cleveland Estate Liquidators sold is my right. Further, Jessica removed small oriental rugs after the sale claiming that she had a client who might be interested in purchasing them. Days later, I realized that she had neither returned them nor confirmed their sale. When I inquired, she said she could possibly sell them for $20. It defies business logic that Jessica would go to the trouble of taking the rugs and selling them to a client in order to net roughly $7. More importantly, I have written confirmation that two large oriental rugs were sold for three times the amount she provided, and that a set of deck furniture sold for five times the price Jessica acknowledged. Based on my experience, this woman preys on families who are in the midst of major life upheavals. A death or change in the living situation of a loved one is often the reason for an estate sale or liquidation. It would be an extreme understatement to say that being dealt with in this manner, during a truly daunting family moment, is very hard to accept. My experience with Jessica entangled me with a person who, in my opinion, is simply mean-spirited, combative and untrustworthy. As my family and I consider our legal options, it is my hope that this review saves others from such an unsatisfactory experience

We felt TKL was the best, followed them all over... and purchased many items. Recently something…read morehas changed however. We normally get to these sales at 11-11:30 and it normally takes an hour to see everything. TKL normally goes 1/2 off all items at 12:00. Now I get that ppl take advantage of this, however, If they are so worried about it then close down at 12:00 and re-open at 12:05 at half off. Instead Talisa chose to alienate an entire room of customers with an accusatory speech. My girlfriend and I purchased and paid for these items at 12:00 (at full price). I continued to find more items and went to check out. Talisa then, (spoke extremely loud) in front of all these people that I had items I was holding on to too long. So these items came to a total of 15.00. I paid full price for items that were still there even after 4 hours of ppl shopping. I hope Talisa feels bad about this embarrassing dramatic display. So I will recommend TKL if you want treated as a criminal and humiliated in front of others. I thought I would give them a second chance. WHEW! You should have been there to experience the lack of absolute professionalism. Ohhh the screaming, calling me a thief, threatening to call the cops, and even get this one, as I was leaving (with 3 guys surrounding me) one of the employees even yelled YOUR GIRL DOESN'T EVEN WANT TO BE WITH YOU! This was in front of all customers. Seriously... I have 3 witnesses. You had to be there. Businesses can no longer act like this as there is a thing call internet reviews.
