As an adult learner, I've spent quite a bit of time winging it. It's been a challenge finding lessons that work for me. I almost gave up on the idea. I am glad I looked into Allegro School of Music for drum lessons. In a short time, I have noticed improvement in my coordination and playing. Adults need not feel they are too old to start. I found Allegro by googling "best music lessons in Tucson." I signed up for lessons when they were having a special for $75 off. I've only done about 4 lessons, and I've enjoyed it a lot so far. My guitar teacher is super cool and tailors the lessons to what I want, whether it's learning a song, reading tabs, scales. So far so good! read more

Jenna, did a phenomenal job at matching our son with his instructor ((Aaron)). Ryland began with NO experience. and, has since learned to read music and can now play..."Sweet Home Alabama" among many more- in mere months! Several times a year the school does recitals, on a main stage which is a really exciting time to invite family to share in what you/your children, have accomplished! Also, During lessons, there is a family waiting area which has a few sofas, chairs and a small play area. Our instructor resigned and we were never notified. She didn't notify us either because the directors don't let teachers and parents have contact unless supervised by their office. My children were given substitutes for three lessons and Allegro didn't even give my daughter a substitute who actually played her instrument. When I inquired about where our teacher was and what was going on, I recieved three different stories about how she resigned. Since my children had been with their instructor for over three years, I decided to withdraw my children from the school but they won't let me due to their rule about having to withdraw before the 15th of the month. According to two of the stories I was told our teacher resigned before the 15th and conveniently for Allegro, they said they were going to inform parents of her resignation on the 29th. Which forces my children to attend for another month with a different teacher. The third story I was told was that our teacher quit two days before our last lesson. Knowing this instructor for the last three years or more, I am confident she would not quit without adequate notice. I'm still fighting to withdraw my children as I do not want to pay for another month of lessons. Do not attend this school. They are all about the money and do not care about clients, students, nor teachers. They refunded the $93 for my daughter's three lessons but w still want us to pay over $100 and are forcing my 9 year old son to continue lessons with another instructor for another month. He is upset and does not want to switch to another and rather not attend. I am not sending him back and intend to fight the extra charge. Do not send your kids here. I will never return nor recommend this school ever again! It is horrible. I am still waiting for proof of when our teacher officially sent in her resignation. I want to see the date, but Allegro has yet to show it. Also, they have deleted all past negative reviews on other platforms. read more

We chose Allegro based on the penny pinching fact that we had a coupon but I'm so glad we did. We signed my daughter up for guitar lessons and she's been attending for a month now and she absolutely loves it. She's very happy with her instructor and I'm very happy with the professionalism and administrative aspects of this place. They really are top shelf. The only reason I give it a 4 star is because it's a bit pricey but they do send out coupons on a regular basis which can greatly reduce the cost of lessons. read more

I am an adult guitar beginner and Allegro has been absolutely fantastic. My wife surprised me with an acoustic guitar in 2017 and I spent a year checking out You Tube videos and other online instruction, plus trying to figure out instruction books on my own, then my wife suggested personal lessons and signed me up for Allegro. Learning from John Gregorius has been exactly what I hoped for. Videos and books alone do not tell you if you are using proper technique or progressing, and can't work with you to find your strengths and weaknesses. My daughter had music lessons which her instructor was great. What bothered me is that I canceled in May got charged for June which was understandable but then got charged for July. I called when I saw my back statement left message got no call backs. I called again spoke to someone was told it would be back in my account within a few days called back because 10 days letter there was nothing in my account and at this point I've called about 3 times. In which I also asked for the director, manager, somebody to call me back and very unprofessional no callback. Ten days later I was told that it would be another 3-5 days for it to be refunded. I signed my daughter up for piano lessons through this organization because they had decent reviews. They put my kiddo in lessons with a woman who's philosophy was to "punish" my child if she did not practice and make improvements within a certain timeframe. I let her know this was not my philosophy and if my daughter was not engaged, it was her responsibility to figure out other ways to engage her. This was several months into lessons. I changed her instructor, but at this point it was too late. My kiddo was not interested any longer due to the negativity. When I went to withdraw her on the 16th of the month, they told me they would only withdraw up to the 15th of the month for the following. The manager said I would have to pay for a whole other month because that is their policy. I do not recommend this place. They are more expensive and only interested in money. They need more relevant instructors and management with common sense. My kiddo is going to have to wait a month and a half to get into another extracurricular activity to accommodate their ridiculous policy. Find a place that really cares about teaching children the art of music!! read more
