We were at the store about 3 ish or so. We walked in and we approach by a gentleman name Owev. Owen treated us well I had questions in regards my canon Eos 60 D. The owner has no concept of service; eg , return policies, and lack of common sense, and courtesy in general. But, some excellent products and an effective manager. The manager seemed intelligent but the owner, not at all. Too bad, nice location. read more

Always good customer service... film turnaround is slow. In my experience, it usually takes from 2 to 3 weeks to get film back. By far the slowest turn around of anywhere that I have had my film developed. read more

Good variety of Supplies, they say they develop film photos but they actually send it to the Orem location and so it takes up to four days so if you're developing film photographs just take it to the Orem Allen's Camera to get it faster Also their price for developing is pretty outrageous read more

Zero Stars if it were possible. Absolutely terrible customer service. I wasn't greeted by any staff member within 20 minutes of being there, so I finally left. There were two separate people who showed up after I did and they were both greeted by the staff while I waited to ask my questions. The lenses were scattered everywhere and were hard to locate which ones were meant for Canon vs Sony vs etc. read more

It took 5 days to process a disposable camera. For $8.92 I got 15 out of 27 images developed. No explanation as to why, just a question about where they were taken at as I was paying. I liked that they called when it was done. read more

It is surprising that with the immense saturation of photographers in Utah, that there's 1 or 2 popular photography/ camera stores. The service was great, but I do feel like it is a little overpriced. The employees definitely know what they are talking about which is refreshing. I would go to allens over the other camera stores any day. read more

I have purchased my Nikon from Justin at the Provo Store along with lenses and filters. The prices are great and so is the service. Justin is very knowledgable and helps you every time you visit. If they don't have a product, he will track it down and have it shipped immediately. read more

They do a good enough job on prints, but I recently had them scan some old 110 and 126 negatives for me. It cost $61.60 for just 35 images! They didn't warn me they charge $5.95 for the CD to put your scanned images on. It's bad enough they charge $1.49 per frame to scan them--the highest price I've seen anywhere--the CD should have been included in that cost. I wouldn't have gone there had I not needed the photos in a hurry; even then, it took a week to get them back. Not impressed at all. Way too overpriced. I'll buy the equipment and scan them myself from now on. Besides that, the staff didn't seem to have a clue how to answer my questions. read more

The worker at this store was very helpful. I was able to take in my camera and lenses and he helped give me information about upgrading from a crop sensor camera to a full frame one and what the benefits would be of doing so and if it would be worth it with the lenses I already had. He was very kind and helpful and definitely knew what he was talking about. Their prices are comparable and don't seem overpriced at all. read more

After driving around Orem on Black Friday to one of the Box Stores in search of a specific camera and lens and having no luck, I tried Allen's in Provo. Colleen was especially helpful and informed me that the camera was at the Orem store and that she could have it delivered to the Provo store by that afternoon. That was great!! Just as I was getting ready to leave, she checked the hold shelf and found the camera and lens combo I wanted and noticed that it had been on hold since October. Rather than just sell it to me outright, she took the time to call the other customer to see if they still wanted the camera. Turns out they didn't so I got it!! To me, it was above and beyond for Colleen to continue searching after having had a workable solution and then to call the other customer was icing on the cake. Many would have just let the camera sit longer on the hold shelf or sold it out from under the other customer. Great service and the price was the same everywhere , including the major online retailer. Thanks Allen's read more

Here is my feeling about Allen's Camera....If you need something badly and you walk into their store and they have it, buy it. If you have to order something because they do not have it in stock, then go to B&H or Amazon and order it where you will get a guaranteed shipment and tracking number etc. When you order something from Allen's I feel like it goes into some kind of black hole and unless you are persistent in following up on it, you will never see it! read more

Please, if you cherish your family memories, DO NOT take your mini tapes, VHS's, 8mm, whatever, to have them transferred over to DVD's. I should of read the other reviews regarding tape transfers...my bad! I gave them 5 mini tapes and 1 VHS to transfer. When I received them back they were HORRIBLE!! Jumpy and fuzzy. I returned them and they said they knew they were having trouble with the transfer machine and had just bought a new one. Then they told me that a lot of people had returned tapes. Okay...things happen. I gave them the bad DVD's and my tapes again. I picked them up and after closer review noticed that I had only received the 1 VHS and 2 mini tapes back along with the bad and newly made DVD's with them. I was missing 3 of the mini tapes with correlating DVD's. I spoke with Mike in SLC, Ethan the owner and Kassie in Provo. All were very polite and sincere. But, they looked everywhere and have totally and completely lost about 6 years of memories....my children growing up and family members that have since passed away...I am heart broken. Ethan assures me that he thinks they will pop up where they least expect it. I can only hold out hope. This is their business. They are dealing with people's most treasured memories. These tapes can not be replaced. Stay far, far away from Allen's Camera. read more
