Allens just rocks - plain and simple. Sales out the wazoo, quality that's consistent, customer…read moreconscious, a family environment. It doesn't get any better.

Dunno what the dude from Brooklyn, NY thinks they know about a small town store in Arkansas. I…read morelive here. Obviously it looks like everyone who works there is related. That IS the point of a family owned mom and pop place. Here's a quick service guide. Yes, they have a hot food section in the back with chicken, pizza, and other assorted items and a 3 seat bar. No, the hot food isn't up on Sunday. This is a religious town, they don't even open till after noon on Sunday. No, they don't carry alcohol. Again, religion. Less than 2 miles up the road from here is a full service liquor store. Are you really so cheap as to slam a mom and pop place when you wouldn't drive an extra mile and a half to visit an actual liquor store? They do this deal in the meat section. Pick any 5 items for $25, each additional item is also $5. This includes things like fresh meat, cheese, side items, and a few big packs of precooked items like chicken fingers and corn dogs. Feeding a family of four you can save a ton of money this way. They DO have the pest prices in the area on things like red and green peppers, cherry tomatoes, zuchinni, and yellow squash. At Harps for example one single lonely yellow pepper is over a dollar. At Allen's you get three peppers for $2. Let's see. One for $1.75 or 3 for $2. Which is better? Mom and pop! They also have gas out front, which isn't horribly great pricing but will get you where you need to go to get it cheaper. No, they don't have the selection of a Harps. No, they don't have Walmart pricing. What they do have is a solid selection of staple items and necessities, dirt cheap kitty litter, an the price and selection you would expect in a family run convenience grocery. I would say ignore the review of the person whose location puts them about 1,500 miles from here and trust the review of a frequent shopper who lives within walking distance!
