I bought Ozark Hearth sweet Hawaiian hot dog buns last night @ Harp's in Mountain Home, AR on E62 for lunch today. The buns were not only stale but MOLDY!! Had to throw them away. My husband was angry with me for not examining the buns closer before I bought them :-( The bread company & Harp's are equally responsible for the quality control of our food we buy. Will go somewhere else for hot dog buns & probably all my groceries in the future. UGH!!! I'll bet Walmart keeps a closer eye on their bread products & food expiration dates. I bought some Kraft mild cheddar cheese there before & it was so old it crumbled when I tried to grate it. Harp's apparently DOES NOT check expiration dates on their food! I spend approx $600 a month on groceries, as well. Every time I end up having to throw something away. read more

I'm only writing the review for the hot deli. Honestly it's the best fried chicken and mashed potatoes I've ever had from a grocery store. The young man that helped me was extremely friendly and courteous. Service was quick and the prices were downright crazy cheap for the amount of food we got. There's a gas station right next to the store and belongs to the store so you can fill up and go in and get a good hot meal to go if you're traveling through, as we were. We pull a 36 foot camper and had no problem getting into the pumps. We pulled over behind the gas pumps, (plenty of parking), walked in and got our food to go. We were on our way in no time. read more

Sushi, Donuts, Guns! AMERICA!!! Honest, the sushi is good. The sporting good counter kicks major a$$, with fishing and hunting gear second to maybe Cabelas. Good guns and ammo selection. The bakery here wins bigtime as well. Grocery prices are a bit high, so just enjoy the guns, sushi and donuts. read more

The produce selection at this grocer won't be beat in Mountain Home. While the items may be slightly higher in price here, I feel like I get wonderful service every time, a clean store, and a great selection. It is also very easy to get in and out of the store quickly, unlike the big box store down the road. The employees are always nice and offer to take your bags to your vehicle The only drawback that I have found with Harp's is the parking lot. This is one of the most dangerous parking lots in the area, with lines that do not lay out well with the shape of the lot, the entrances to the lot, etc. No one follows the lines, so always be on guard for approaching vehicles. read more

A nice store with fresh produce choices and quality meat selections. However, it's the most expensive place to buy groceries in Mountain Home bar none. You'll spend more here than at Wal Mart or Town and Country for the same items. read more

Prices are very high,especially on produce,I have bought strawberries and other fruit that went bad in ONE DAY ! Even more over priced is their desserts,they charge $10 for an apple pie !!!!!!!!! The turnovers have almost no fruit in them they are filled with air,I give these a zero rating.I have seem much lower prices and better quality out of state. The store is clean,with plenty of parking,lines are short at check out and most checkers are friendly and functional. Deli fair.They have a Starbucks for those who care. Mountain Home has only Harps,Town and Country and Walmarts so grocery shopping is limited.I only go here for Walmart can be a zoo at times. read more

Great "small town" grocery store. Nice friendly staff and helpful when needed. Love the meat department, will cut to suit and top of the line. Lunch meat and cheese like you can get in any large suburban market but with the local friendliness that makes us special! read more

Just shopped this evening and a checker named Dervi was so rude, cussing and used the Lord's name in vain with F word. We will see if my complaint makes it to the main manager. I wanted to write a formal complaint, but the young female manager said the day manager liked them typed up. Hum, sounds fishy. Left my name and number. Will come back and rate again should the outcome be resolved in the only way it should. If not I will never shop here again. I have shopped at Harps all my adult life, 48 years old now, but not too old to change grocery store if needed. Just got off phone with manager Greg Harp, very nice man. Was assured the checker mentioned above will no longer work at the store. read more

Ok. I guess. One problem though. In big HUGE letters right there on the front of the building it says OPEN 24 HOURS. However, they are closed from midnight Monday til six a.m. Tuesday. Not sure if they understand the concept of open 24 hours. read more

Nice, clean pretty store but tried fried chicken twice & I won't do that again (soggy/fresh or crusty/nasty). I think I'll skip the deli area. Found a non frozen turkey for the holidays which was nice. It is a really convenient place to stop. Too bad the prepared foods were a let down--back to town & country or Walmart for quick after work food. read more

These people are wacked. When in this store of the first time in my life and they refused to take my check. Said I have a bad check on them. I have never had a bad check in my life, moreless with Harps. Needless to say Walmart got my money that night and I have never been back and will never enter a Harps again. read more

Friendly staff, decent selection. Be aware Harp's does not sell beer or wine, but there is a liquor store in the same parking lot. A great alternative to the Mega Lo Mart down the road. read more

Harps has been a part of Mtn Home since the 60s.I've known many employees over the years and have shopped there forever.While it is true they are not the cheapest place to shop,they are always top notch quality and the only place in town where you can get meat that is not half water('solution').The butchers are always eager to do whatever to make you happy.Their bakery always has a large selection and the employees are always there to wait on you.Even the weekend help (Chris B)are polite and considerate and eager to please.Their deli beats wallyworld hands down. read more

Love Harps always shop there. Except their deli. I can't stand the way they keep the meat and cheese. They now put it back into slimy zip lock bags. No longer do they freshly wrap the left over meat and cheese. I got Black Forest ham and there was this white goopy, slimy stuff on almost every slice. Look at the bags your meat and cheese come out of. Going to Town and Country deli and so are many of my friends. Even Walmart deli wraps the meat and cheese after every customer. read more
