He is not a part of a large group and has one nurse practicioner on staff. He actually answers the after hours calls, not an answering service and he takes his time explaining things to you. He provides personal care and is great with children. The office staff is wonderful and the visits do not take forever. Don't expect a fancy, high rise office. The staff starting with phone calls, front entry, and all the way up to the doctor -- holy cow, so friendly while simultaneously being absolute professionals! I also felt like they were very focused on us and were great at listening and explaining. They may not specifically be a pediatric allergy group but they are MAGNIFICENT with my kids. Truly. I have just developer adult shellfish allergy in 2017 and ended up having anaphlactic shock from shrimp . I really wanted to see if I was still allergic and so Dr Tanklersley and Dr kristie took all the blood test and pin pricks. I still had it but not too bad. So I ate 6 shrimp today over a 2 hour period and did good till the last couple of minutes. I did have a reaction to all of our disappointment. But they took all my vitals and got me out of my allergic condition state . I thought I was doomed forever from eating my favorite food . Dr Tankersley has started doing immunotherapy on people who do t want to live with my allergyor many other food allergies like nuts , gluten , dairy etc . It will start in 2 weeks and I have all the trust and faith in him and all of the staff there. I will keep you advised in a couple of weeks of my progress. Once my medical issues were addressed, he and I spent a good bit of time talking about things that were non-medical: our lives, our families, our interests and hobbies, etc. He possesses a great skill that no healthcare provider can learn from the medical books: that of true compassion and empathy for his patients. Likewise, his staff was very friendly, courteous, and professional and put me well at ease. This was my first and only visit ever to an allergist, but I would daresay that he is the best one to be found anywhere in the Memphis area. And, he is UAB (University of Alabama) trained. If you have ever been treated by a UAB trained physician,, then you know there is no comparison between a UAB trained physician and a U.T. (University of Tennessee) trained physician. He recommended Dr. Levy and I could not have asked for a more thorough Dr. He gave me a pad and pen and had me write down everything he said for my sons treatment. His staff was so sweet and my son grew up going to get his allergy shots each week and loving Dr. Levy and the nurses!! I even had to call Dr. Levy many times at home and he always answered my calls and instructed me as to what to do, especially when we were out of town.
