This company communicates mostly when they're looking to add on services to get more money out of you. And they're quite aggressive and offensive when doing so. A rep contacted me about an "offer" that wasn't even valid since the statute of limitation had passed. Anthem has literally done nothing except communicate what I owe; I could've done this myself. $3000+ dollars for services that are non existent. No one communicates in a timely fashion if at all and when they do, have no idea about your personal case. This company is completely inadequate and do no care about their customers at all. 9/24/25 I posted a review stating that I would give them 0 stars if I could; however, after speaking with Francisco Durazo & Gina Moreno at Anthem Tax Services at length I feel that it is only right that I come back and update my review. Yelp is easy to post in the beginning and a good tool; however, it is quite difficult to remove or update your original post. Their accountability, sense of urgency, and attention to excellent customer service is the reason for this update. My tax issue has been resolved I do believe that Anthem can/will assist you with the same care that these 2 individuals did for me. Just like our fingerprints and social security numbers aren't the same, it's the same way with taxes no 2 files are the same. As the consumer, I have to take accountability as well. Yes, I hired them to help me with my issue, I could've followed up with them as well. We're all humans and make mistakes but when we're the ones on the receiving end of the mistakes it's not good feeling. I now know what it feels like to be on the other end and for this very reason I have made it a point in my own line of business to apply this experience and the way Francisco & Gina took accountability for the company as a whole I am ensuring my team does the same. I needed to be heard, and they did just that. I've also been a new employee and working alone for the 1st time once training is complete. I am extending my grace to Jack because I have been there; this experience I am certain was a learning lesson for him. In the end communication goes both ways. Calling a service like this can be a bit daunting. You never know who you are going to speak with, what their skill set is and of course how much they are going to charge you for their services. We spoke with Charlie Rippe. Charlie spent almost an hour on the phone with us including calling the IRS with us to have a better understanding of our situation. At no point in time did we have to sign anything nor was there a fee to do this. We quickly felt very comfortable with Charlie. He was honest, sincere and very informative. If you're busy like me don't hire Anthem Tax because they're happy to take your money, never call you back, and let the clock tick on your time. Please don't use this company. I'm still paying for this scam. They lie and tell you you qualify for tax relief services, charge you $5000 upfront, before providing any services, wait months ( in my case almost a year) to appear as though they are working on your case, and then tell you you don't qualify for any tax relief. In my case, they actually told me that they made attempts to negotiate with the IRS because they already knew I never qualified for any services. John Ko and Tamara Ingleheart were a part of the sham team that was working on my case. These people did absolutely nothing, while keeping my case open to appear as though I was a client they were attempting to assist. Please protect yourself and do use this service. If you have already been scammed, file a complaint with the BBB. The more complaints the better. They need to be flagged for fraud, false advertisement, ect. read more

So, here's my thoughts about Anthem Tax. Short response... Would I recommend them again? MAYBE, but only very specific people! I didn't have the best outcome on my case file. Between lost papers, extended time frames and a representative with little to No zeal to see my case through....I somehow got lost in the shuffle. Here's the issue...if you're meeting your obligations of submitting what's asked of you in a timely manner, you have an expectation of certain things under contract: The supplier has the necessary skill to provide the service. When the service supplier specializes in the type and size of work you want carried out...they guarantee their work. The service will be provided with proper care and diligence. while I'm certain they have knowledgable people employed, this is a growing company and it became clear that some files might be so overwhelming that other files don't get the necessary time and attention it deserves. That said, I had to pull out. 10 months later, I felt that I'd truly given ample time to have results with at least some contact with IRS on my behalf, but in the end, I lost some very good opportunities to be in a better position because my file just was not properly managed. However, I will say this, after having made the decision to part ways, I felt I deserved a refund. After some time of talks and escalations Anthem Tax agreed and provided a full refund...which truly shows their willingness to be fair and maintain positive consumer relationships. While I do believe my case was an isolated incident, Anthem Tax did realize where they could improve their service so this does not happen again. Back to Specific People: Had I had the second representative working my file from the beginning, it may have resulted in a very different outcome.... Adam was was just a little too late. While his responses were a little redundant, At least he did show some initiative and at some point, responded to my messages. Thanks to Tasha in Customer Service for all her help. I'd be lost without her. This company did nothing to reduce my tax debt and after having an attorney read through my documents I've come to the conclusion that this company is bait and switch. I received a notice from the IRS that I owe $45,026.53. On August 20, 2021 I called Anthem Tax Service and spoke with Mollie Aberle. Anthem Tax Services said they would  be able to immediately stop garnishments, levies, liens, etc preventing further actions from the IRS for the total price of $8000.00. On October 03, 2021 I discovered an unauthorized promissory note charge of $16,974.72 from Anthem Tax Services bringing the total Anthem Tax Services fees to $24,974.72 on top of my IRS debt of $45,026.53. To date there has been no reduction of my tax liability, while I am being garnished with levies and liens being attached. I have reported Anthem Tax Services to all relevant local and federal government agencies. Avoid Anthem Tax Services. This company is RIP-OFF they charged me $3500 told me they stop any tax action against me for Colorado and Federal. Anthem had my case 4 months and Colorado State Garnished my wages. I called Anthem Tax Services because I had a problem because I owed back taxes.  When I first called them,  I wasn't happy with what the guy I talked to was saying.  He basically told me that if I didn't do anything about my tax issues the IRS was going to take my paycheck.  I felt like the guy was trying to scare me into hiring them.  Also, I didn't have the money to hire them at the time.  The guy sent me the paperwork to hire them but I just let it sit in my email.  He called me a few times, but I ignored his calls.  That was a mistake. About a month later,  my check got garnished at work.  I was so mad.  I was mad at myself because I didn't listen to the guy at Anthem.  I called back to see what I could do.  I spoke to a Marie and she was very nice.  She said if I hire them now that can stop my check from being garnished.  They actually did do that pretty quickly.  Next, they told me the reason I owed so much was because I didn't file.  Once they filed my returns,  I owed almost half of what I owed.  From there,  they put me on a payment plan and I paid the debt off.  I screwed up by not listening to them in the beginning but they told me what was going to happen and I didn't listen. SMH.  Anyway,  they took good care of me and now I have money in my wallet again and don't have to worry about the government taking it.  LOL  Thanks Anthem. read more

I hired Anthem back in August 2022 to help with taxes I owed the IRS and my state. I shared everything with Anthem I got from both agencies. When the state sent me a letter and told me I had 30 days to respond, Anthem failed to contact them and eventually the state garnished my wages at work. When I contacted Anthem, they said there was nothing they could do with my state which was a complete lie so I had to pay off my back taxes to my state. I then continued to work with Anthem although I had to be the one to contact them every other month to get an update and that was the only time anything got done. I had a conversation with the "lawyer" (according to them) handling my case in January about settling with the IRS and then had the exact same phone conversation with the "lawyer" in February because he didn't remember ever talking with me in January. Then last month I got a letter from the IRS stating my proposed offer was rejected. I didn't know he had submitted an offer and I realized on the paperwork sent to me from the IRS that he FORGED MY SIGNATURE on the document he sent to the IRS. Also, the offer was supposed to have two checks with it and supporting documentation to be considered. He had not told me anything and sloppily handled my case. I contacted Anthem immediately and they acted like nothing had gone wrong and told me to send them the information I had gotten from the IRS. I told them I was done working with them as it was clear they didn't know how to be professional and I didn't trust them anymore. I was then contacted by the "Reputation MD, Todd" to offer me a full refund and that I should be happy with that bc they only want to give me half of a refund. Then I told them that was unacceptable as they have made me accrue more interest on my large bill I owed to the IRS and state of MN and have only added to my anxiety and depression over this situation that was caused by my ex-husband. They then wanted to give me a full refund plus the interest accrued on my taxes but want me to sign a NON-DISCLOSURE and to take down any bad reviews. They only have good reviews bc they pay off the ones and have them sign a big contract stating you can't do anything bad to their company so they can continue to swindle innocent people. I have told them that I refuse to sign any contract with their company as I do not trust them in anyway. Plus their contract stated they would take 30 days to give me my money back. I told them it is unfortunate and I would be willing to draw up a contact to sign. I am the victim here and they continue to treat me as though I was the one in the wrong. They also didn't want me to report the fraud done by their employee who was handling my case. I beg of you to not use this company as they are not trustworthy and treat their customers like they are the aggressor when their company has completely mishandled my case and caused me more pain and anxiety than ever needed. They are great smooth talkers when they want your money but when you call them out on mishandling and fraud, they attack you. read more

I am changing my review from 1star to 3 stars for 2 reasons. Pros: a) Tasha is a supervisor who I was able to communicate, resolve an issue with, and is very professional and a matter of fact. Honestly, I appreciate all that she has done. b) Vanessa is the assistant to the tax accountant we are using. She assisted us with understanding what forms and how to fill them out. Kudos! Cons: a) Adam our tax accountant is an extremely poor communicator. Neither my wife, my friend who's an attorney or myself could grasp what he was trying to say in his email(s). Frustrating to say the least. b) I contacted both Adam and our tax consultant (Joseph) due to the poorly worded emails from Adam. Joseph always told me to contact him if there was a problem. I never heard back from Adam and I never wish I had heard from Joseph either. I was trying to explain how my wife and I were feeling and it did not take long for Joseph to get rude and condescending with me.
