EDITED TO ADD- After posting this same review on Google, they literally called me dangling a partial... PARTIAL, refund of the $450 they essentially stole from me if I take the review down. Please, PLEASE, if you're reading this and desperate enough to file a bankruptcy to save your property, please seek alternative representation. These guys are straight up EVIL to their core. ORIGINAL REVIEW TEXT FOLLOWS- I would highly suggest anyone in a desperate situation to avoid this place like a plague. Their consultant told me that their retainer was 1500. A bit steep, but fine. Still, I told the consultant I didn't have that kind of saved up cash since, you know, I was considering bankruptcy and all. Then he said they'd put me on a payment plan and so long as I stayed on that plan, they would help me save my house. Obviously it's stressful to be in this situation and I was happy to hear them be willing to help. So I go on the payment plan. Then the date of foreclosure comes up and they call to say there will be no help unless I can pay off the retainer balance. Again, was told I could keep on the payment plan and be helped. I live on a small disability check, and in this economy the ability to save when I've just lost a parent and had to use all available extra funds to put them to rest means I am struggling. Like, you know, bankrupt people do. Like I told the consultant during our phone interview (they couldn't even fit me in a visit to an office). So they pull the rug and cancel me as a client. Fine, but will I get the $450 they charged me already on the payment plan back? The lady who cancelled me said I would. Then they call and hem and haw about policy and retainer agreement. These people are EVIL. Taking advantage of the most vulnerable folks who just want to not lose a HOUSE THAT I OWN with no mortgage. Just a little bit behind on taxes. Not 10 years behind, a year and a half behind. Because I was caring for my sick dying mother and dad didn't leave enough for her to die peacefully with. So I stepped up and was the dutiful son. And yeah,money got tight and I got behind, now I need a lifeline. And instead of a lifeline I got thrown an anchor. And on that anchor was stamped "ALLMAND LAW". read more

I'll never recommend them to anyone. I would pay them not to go with them. Nonexistent of communication and false claims and promises. I needed a new car for work and gave them paperwork only for them to submit it a week later. I'm still waiting and having to spend money for my rental car again and trustee payment that I'm afraid might be short. There's no urgency Or follow backs. My experience with Allmand Law Firm has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. During my initial consultation, Richard clearly stated that the $2998 retainer had to be paid in full before an attorney would begin working on my case or file anything with the court. He also assured me that if I decided not to proceed--or if the firm determined I did not qualify for filing--any money paid would be refunded as long as the decision was made before anything was filed with the court. That turned out to be untrue. Only four days later, I decided not to move forward with filing for bankruptcy and formally withdrew from the firm. This decision was made very early on--so early that no work had begun on my case, and I was told nothing would even start until after the holidays. I emailed my withdrawal and requested a refund, but instead was told a manager would contact me in two business days to close out my case, with no mention of my refund. When I followed up specifically asking about the status of my $1,000 refund, I received no response. I then had to call the firm to get answers, only to be told that an attorney would reach out within two business days to "discuss" my refund. Another important thing to note is that this firm is primarily electronic, which was not clearly explained upfront. If you call with questions, you are routed to a concierge who will tell you they are not licensed to provide information and that all questions must be addressed by an attorney--but only after the retainer has been paid in full. At this point, it feels like I am playing cat-and-mouse just to get clear answers about my own money. Bankruptcy was already a last resort for me due to financial hardship, and this experience--especially during the holidays--has only added more stress. I cannot help but feel that this firm lacks transparency and takes advantage of people who are already struggling by offering false reassurance, poor communication, and questionable follow-through. PLEASE listen to the one star reviews. This place is a scam. They almost force you to give a good review on the initial call and will charge you $12 per text, overcharge you for anything they do for you. I cancelled out quickly after doing more research and quickly realized that even signing up with them was the biggest mistake I could have made. I'm out $500 but I think I truly saved myself in the long run. But they still over charged for EVERYTHING on the invoice and never did anything for me. Pick any other firm over this one please . Be smart and DONT choose Allmand law. read more

I would use these guys as a last resort. I just completed my payments and had to leave town due to family illness and when I returned I was told in order to get my signature of completion, I would have to reopen my case for 650 bucks. Just for a signature.... Greed! read more

The man in the picture is Reed Allmand. Kind person who promised me that no para legals would touch my case due to how technical it is. I lost a business and have to also do a BK under personal. The first failure is I started getting tons of calls from para legals who work for the firm and it's obvious from home. They called asking the same questions that I questioned why I repeated myself so many times. This was dragged on for 5 months. Then I started receiving text with my company name being called an LLC and I told them I don't have an LLC. Then I found out after being so upset that someone on their team pulled a company filed document from somewhere on the internet for a company with same name but completely irrelevant to me. They kept going back and forth with how I should file and kept telling them it's wrong because that one document wasn't my company. Then I found out the "attorney" who was on my case isn't there anymore. I'll just say this - you can reach anyone you want when you need them here. I paid in full and they hand you a packet and say get this. Some things aren't clear. This is. High volume law firm where they just want to charge and sign up people without fully focusing on your file. They are rookie attorneys and para legals who don't really understand the technical things. Read this review and find someone who cares. This isn't a good business. Their google reviews are 10/10 but they are def paying for fake reviews. read more
