You'll get your policy at a reasonable price, but not without having to deal with someone else's…read morebelongings, namely what comes across as emotional baggage. When I first bought my renter's insurance policy, I couldn't login to my online account, so I emailed Adam Roux, the guy I bought the policy from and who reached out to me first via email after I purchased the policy Shortly after emailing him, I figured out that the zip codes associated with the two addresses I provided when purchasing my policy had been switched (but not by me). Emphasis on "I figured out" because I never got an email response from him, just phone calls and some voicemails. Like, within a two, maybe a three-week period I was getting called by Adam Roux' number about twice a week but with fewer than half the voicemails as there were incoming calls. And none of Adam Roux' voicemails referred to the question I emailed about me not being able to login. With at least one good reason why I don't answer my phone unless I know the caller, I never picked up when the phone rang, even after I realized it was his number. But once, just once, I did make the effort to play Adam Roux' game and call him back. But he was out of the office when I did. At some point, I decided to email Adam that I'd figured things out on my own as far as logging into my online account, but he never responded to that email either. However, I do remember being called by his number a few more times after that. So, yeah, he reached out by email, but after that, his behavior made it clear that we were moving forward with my question/issue by phone. Seems like someone overdosed on He-Man as a kid #iHaveThePower And then maybe a month before it was time to cancel my policy, I was emailed by Angela Healy about renewing my policy. Not that I needed to since I never added my payment information to my account for my policy to auto-renew, but I responded to Angela's message by saying I wouldn't need a policy because I'd be relocating. It was great for Angela to continue corresponding with me via email (and quickly at that!), but then things got weird. So, she confirmed that there's no payment information in my account for an auto-renew to be possible but then offered to manually cancel my plan so it doesn't auto-renew. Wait what? How can my policy be renewed if I've made it so the policy can't auto-renew because I never added my payment details to my account? Does that mean AllState can manually renew a policy, i.e., take my money without my permission, in the same way that Angela was offering to manually cancel a policy? At this point, you might be starting to at least feel that you're going to feel a headache coming on if you keep thinking about all this. If so, you can understand why I just went "whatever" and took Angela up on her nice offer to manually cancel something that, if renewed, would've resulted in a more damaging yelp than this one. She seemed super nice throughout our correspondence, and in the end I left our thread happy that this loose end had been tied. Or had it? A few days ago, I got my second email in two weeks from AllState reminding me to renew my renter's insurance policy. The first was auto-generated. Guess who the second email was from? Prince Adam. So I emailed Angela and explained the renewal notice emails. She was apologetic and offered to manually cancel the policy, confirming what I already knew would happen if things weren't manually cancelled: the policy would end due to nonpayment. At this point, I just wanted to say, "that's cool, let it cancel on its own", but instead, I copied and pasted, from the email I sent in March at the start of our correspondence , my request for her to cancel my policy on X day (with a note to my son for him to check his emails in case he'd gotten renter's insurance policy renewal notices despite him emailing Angela to manually cancel his policy). Now this is where things got just plain silly. Six minutes after re-emailing Angela the pasted text I sent her in March for her to manually cancel my policy, I got this from her: "Hi Kerstin, I apologize, but I have been saving the emails and it looks like that last one did not come through on my end. Just to confirm. you would like me to cancel the renters policy effective 04/26/2021? I would just need you to say 'yes, please cancel my renters policy effective 04/26/2021'. Thanks!" Um, minutiae much, Ange? So, whatever. I pasted it "yes, please cancel my renters policy effective 04/26/2021" (Yeah, I left in the "please") and went on my merry way, thankful that my personal flaws are a wee bit different from Adam's and Angela's, and that I know how not to bring them to work. And I did get an attached confirmation from Angela in another quick email reply. So all's well. But still, all I wanted was renter's insurance, not conversational English practice or writing advice. I know where to go for that ("Just check the link in my bio!" as they say.)

Let me start out that I wasn't expecting to switch to Allstate, or anyone else with that matter. I…read morehad been insured with Geico for my car insurance for twenty years continuously. I was always pleased with Geico's service and prices, and expected to stay with Geico for life. Adam Roux was the first agent in two decades to prove me wrong. I was about to close on a home, and was shopping for homeowners insurance. His rates on my car insurance were decent, but the savings on Homeowner's insurance compared to the dozens of other insurance companies from which I had received quotes was extremely low. On our first appointment, he met with me personally (he has other licensed representatives in his office). This was important to me, because I had lackluster experiences with my previous renter's insurance policies from other companies because they would allow their sub-representatives to do all of the work, instead of talking to the agent directly. He took his time and spent over 40 minutes with me going through the quotes, and going through multiple coverage configurations. His generosity with his time, and attention to detail stood out. He also was extremely polite and helpful. I told him that his quote was competitive, and that I would follow up with him next week. The next week, I visited with him again and signed up for both auto insurance and homeowner's insurance. His outstanding service and competitive price is what prompted me to consider switching to Allstate. I have to admit, I was still a bit uneasy about switching away from my beloved Geico. Over the next two weeks, the bank that was working with gave me a hard time with a ridiculous clause in my mortgage that required the homeowner's insurance policy to be worded a certain way. Adam personally wrote the bank's lawyer and my mortgage processor a well worded explanation about why the specific clause was unnecessary, and that my insurance policy covered everything that the bank needed to close. Because of his extra effort, I was able to close on my home with no further issues. Later on, I had questions about certain coverages. He spent ten minutes on each question of coverage that I had doubts about and patiently explained everything to me. He then followed up with me to see if I had any more questions, or anything else that he could help me with. I am EXTREMELY happy that I found Adam for my insurance needs, and am grateful for all of the personalized attention that he provided to me. I appreciate how well he communicates and keeps me updated. I would highly recommend Adam to anyone who is or isn't shopping for insurance (you might be pleasantly surprised with Allstate's competitiveness even if you're not actively shopping for rates).
