After following their guidelines, I was denied for 'not having enough credit history,' even though I have multiple accounts and years of credit use. They also refused to review my income documents (1099/W-2) to prove my financial stability. Customer service was unhelpful, giving me conflicting information. If you value transparency and professionalism in a bank, I recommend looking elsewhere and this isn't the first time having problems with them. Beware and go somewhere else professionally qualified.

I love the fact that this credit union is so modern. You can contact them through text, phone call, online chat, or e-mail. They can handle most anything including loans with out even having to step foot in one of their branch locations. I love that, saves me alot of time. They have awesome customer service. The few times I've walked into the League City location and the times I've been through the drive through, they are always very polite, friendly, and professional. Their League City drive through banking is open later then any other place I've seen. Drive through is open from 7am to 7pm Monday through Friday. Gulf Coast Educators is part of the 'All Point' ATM system. Which means they have tons of surcharge free ATMs pretty much in any City you go to. They're also about to roll out an update to their smart phone app which will pretty much be a complete overhaul of their phone app sometime this month, I'm looking forward to that. I'm not very into getting attached to banking institutions, because a completely different credit union I was a member of for years in the past left me feeling burned with how they handled some fraudulent charges on my card. After that happened with that other credit union I used before; I then contacted Gulf Coast Educators by online chat and explained the situation to them and asked if they would handle that situation better in any way. The agent I chatted with online, reassured me that they have a large department dedicated to handling credit or debit card fraud. Not just one person, but a whole department that would be on top of the matter and get it fixed. From how Gulf Coast Educators credit union has handled my transition over to them and their great customer service, I trust this institution. I feel like my money is safe with them.

But, I relized something when I went into a 3rd location. I ensure that this is not a racrt thing but an observation. At all 3 locations in Texas I have not seen workers there that look like me. Divercity for me is important. I like to at least shop, and bank where i can see workers that I can identify. I will be closing my account. I hope at the very least this wou;ld be read and understood that this is not a race thing but a observatiion that at 3 different locations I did not see one person that was black except a police officer at the location in Clear lake. I do hope that some day if I decided to bank with Amoco I would see some divercity.

Do not use State Farm for any insurance needs and especially do not go to this agent. I had a…read moretwo-year-old truck with twenty-five thousand miles on it insured through this agency. I somehow got a load of bad fuel contaminated with water and diesel bug. The contaminated fuel damaged my fuel system. State Farm denied the claim for wear and tear. Yes, a vehicle two years old and with only twenty-five thousand miles was denied for wear and tear. The proximate cause of the damage was the sudden and accidental introduction of contaminated fuel, not wear and tear. The sad thing is this Agency sided with the Auto Property Adjuster who made the coverage decision. I know how far this company has fallen as I was an Adjuster for State Farm my first eight years out of college in the 90s. It makes me sad that a once great company turned into what it is now! Approximately 17K to repair the fuel contamination claim State Farm denied.

When we moved to Clear Lake I requested Shane as my agent based on their convenient location. I am so glad that I did. I've never visited my agent's office as often as I do Shane's and that's because of the convenience (right next door to the UPS store!) and the friendly people. Julann is a treasure, always willing to drop whatever she is doing and help me with whatever issue has me popping in unannounced. She never makes me feel like I am an interruption, and she goes out of her way to be helpful. When my homeowner's rates skyrocketed (like everyone else's) she helped me reevaluate my policy and deductibles and get the rate down to something more affordable. I did shop for several additional quotes and am satisfied that State Farm's rates remain competitive with the market. I recently suffered a small amount of damage to my car. Julann took the time to help me review all four of the repair estimates I received. She guided me through every step of the claim process, and when there was a mix up with the rental car agency, she had it corrected within minutes! A satisfyied customer for over forty years, I highly recommed State Farm and Shane is the best agent ever!
