BEAWARE! DO NOT TRUST! January 3, 2023, my husband suddenly…read morepassed away. He owned a house in Canton that he shared with my son. I live in AZ. He was planning to eventually move to AZ after retiring. Unfortunately, he passed away suddenly, although they would travel back and forth to visit AZ frequently. It was during one of those visits my husband died. I flew his body back to Canton for the funeral. Michael Dugan's office helped me deal with the life insurance policy and switched the automatic payments for the house insurance that had for years been coming out of our joint account to coming out of my personal account. I wanted the family home to remain insured. Because my son lived there and all of my husband's things were there including my son and my husband cars!!! During my interaction with the office, they were given the place of his death, and my contact imation. I have dealt with this office for years and on other occasions so it wasn't new information that I live in AZ. They've been billing me for years for our life insurance. Nevertheless, my son left Ohio for a couple of weeks for the birth of my first grandson. During his visit, someone broke into the house and stole items. Michaels's office immediately went into denial mode. Because apparently although my son lived there. I didn't.( nothing new) the house wasn't eligible for full coverage. Which is what my husband was paying for and the payment I took over.. As I stated they went into denial mode! In fact, Michael said " I don't think we knew Sam died" impossible I told him! Because I was in your office! Your staff helped me with paperwork. I reminded him of a health issue he was going through at the time. I always trusted this office and dealt with them for many years! But the fact that they took money from me knowing they shouldn't have and then to cover by saying they didn't know my husband died! Is OFFENSIVE! It was fraudulent to take money from a grieving person who trusted that they were doing the right thing. Had no one broken into the house they would have continued to take my money dispite the knowledge that they shouldn't have been. MAKE no MISTAKE they are not like family and if you're not paying attention, YOU TO can be taken advantage of. Since the house wasn't eligible for full coverage. Which is what I was paying for. I requested my monthly payment be returned to me! It's FRAUD! No addendum was made to the policy or reduced payment because less was being covered. It's ridiculous. Stay AWAY! It will be my mission to bring awareness to fraudulent behavior from insurance companies.

I called to find out what the requirements were. This "person," told me in order to have a "free" roof replacement, I would need: 1. A "bad" roof(which I have), 2. Be the homeowner (which I am), and have Homeowner insurance(which I DO) He came later that day, walked around my house(all of 5 seconds), came back and told me "There's nothing wrong with your roof, except a little problem with the " flashing in the back." Showed him my insurance inspections, by LEGITIMATE Inspectors/agents from Allstate, Ohio Fair Plan, City of Akron, etc. He tells me AGAIN, "There's nothing wrong with your roof." I began to be suspicious at that point, and I said to him, "If there's nothing wrong with my roof, will you put that in writing?" He said "no, I'm not going to put it in writing." I asked "why not?" He then said that I'm not eligible, because the roof wasn't properly installed. WHAT? I told him that my roof is leaking so badly that I have had to shut my WHOLE KITCHEN down due to mold, ceiling pieces falling, etc. I told him "You said my roof had to be bad, and this is about as bad as it gets." HE said again, "there's nothing I can do because the roof was installed improperly." After quite a bit of "back & forth," he says, "if I write a report about it, your insurance will be revoked, because it was improperly installed." I told him write it anyway. It was THEN that I truly saw just how unscrupulous, dishonest, and how much of a SCAM he's running. I wonder why he's advertising "Free Roof" in the FIRST PLACE, there's something quite out of "kilter" with this whole setup. About an HOUR ago, a piece of my roof, which THIS con artist told me was sound, just crashed into the attic...I've notified BOTH BBB offices in Akron and Cleveland. If he backed out of a "free, promotional deal," as HE calls it, GOD help ANYONE, or their insurance provider, when MONEY is involved...
