I went into the store tonight, got the things I needed and proceeded to the checkout line. I went to register 3, the clerk was talking to another clerk, she turned to look at me, turned back around and started talking to her again. My friend I was with had to ask her if she was open and she said ya I'm open. By that time, I had already left. I then went to the self check out and proceeded to check myself out. The clerk that was manning that area walked off, no problem, however I ran into an issue and needed her help, but she was nowhere to be found, so we had to go find someone else. When she returned, I had another issue with scanning up an item. She told me it was because my friend picked up a bag before it was time, yet it still would not let me continue ringing up my item. She walked over with a terrible attitude and repeated what she already told us and told me there was nothing she could help me with that it had to fix itself. This stores customer service is awful!!! Its a shamebecause I really like the deli and a few other things I can't get anywhere else, but I dread going in fear of how I will be treated.

She then said to forget it (about bringing the DRY fried chicken...it looked like it was there from The day before and just sat in the heater bin) and to bring the receipt the following day to get the replacement. I come in. I see there's no fried chicken. Apparently they stop frying chicken at 6pm. Monica (the manager I spoke to last night) told the manager at the deli that she told me to bring in the chicken. You really think I'm going to save that chicken to bring it to prove that it was dry? I wasn't about to go through the dumpster just for that. Goodness gracious. What's $2.09? Guess it means more than keeping a customer. I Did not get an apology at all. Usually one would get an Oh I'm So sorry about that. I want to fix the problem. Bad customer service. I'll go to Kentucky fried chicken. At least I know the fried chicken is fresh. You should teach you kitchen people to put the older product in the back or on top of the new food so the older food gets sold then the newer on the bottom. I should have known better. Customer service needs to improve, both times we were there we noticed if you are not a "regular" you don't get the same service all those "regulars" get. One thing I did not like is that the servers use one of the tables in the restaurant to put all the coffee cups facing up and the coffee containers. For our taste that is not sanitary, regulars seating at the same table laughing and coughing on the same table where the coffee cups are, is very disgusting and gross. The coffee was always different. I hope this changes. Because people like us that spend the money to stay in the hotel and actually pay to stay deserves the same customer service as anyone else even if you are not a local. The servers need to be less rusty and pushy. Both times always in short on staff or they just don't care.

This hip cafe is located in downtown Artesia, NM near the Veteran's Memorial. The service was nice enough and very efficient in getting orders out. Lots of seating and I liked the lighting inside... not too bright, not too dim. They sure know how to make a good latte here. The Zia Latte ($5.90 for a 16 oz) consisted of "cayenne + cinnamon + cloves + cardamom + ginger + nutmeg + honey." It's so heartwarming and delicious. One of my favorite lattes in all of New Mexico! My daughter opted for a hot cocoa ($3.60 for 12 oz) and a house-made blueberry jam muffin ($3.80). I did not try the cocoa but she said it was "so good" and they made it to her liking, kid's temperature. The muffin was fantastic. Order at the counter. Pay. Take a number. Came out quickly and boy could I taste the spices in that chai! The pepper kicked me in the face for sure. Not bad just unexpected and strong. They had a great selection of muffins, scones and breads. Ice cream too! Wish I had time to hang out.

I ordered combo #3, avocado turkey sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes, red onions with lite mayo. The sandwich comes in a sourdough bun that was very soft. I also ordered a small pizza for our toddler and he enjoyed it. I had never heard of this sandwich shop and glad we stopped at this location for lunch. There's indoor and outdoor seating.
