Everytime I call they've answered rudely. I called to inquire about Olaplex at their location once and they were very short and basically wanted me to hurry up so they could hang up on me. The second time I called to ask for a trim and the person who answered said "we don't have anything today" and then there was a long awkward pause and I was like thinking (okkkay?! I had a challenging hair job for an experienced stylist to tackle. I spoke to Lisa on the phone before making my appointment to see where her experience level was. She assured me over the phone that she had dealt with similar situations and had been doing hair for years. At my appointment both Lisa and her team were very sweet, but clearly inept- in spite of their supposed years of experience. I was facing chopping off pretty much all of my hair, at their advice. Luckily, I found a knowledgeable stylist at Elixir Salon in Berkeley, who not only saved my hair, but kept me from having to go short, as this salon kept advising. Keep in mind that the woman who saved my hair is in her mid 20s. These ladies are really sweet, but could use some extra training. Driving to Elixir in Berkeley every few months is WELL worth the drive. read more

I called a day ahead an made an appointment. Had my BEST salon experience in a good 3 years. Laurie was my stylist and did an amazing job cutting my hair. She cut the initial length wet and dry cut the rest so the cut actually worked with how my hair falls. Major plus! The salon its self was very clean and well set up, it had a very welcoming boutique feel. Each station had its own sink so you felt extra pampered not having to walk around with sopping wet hair. Let me start off by saying as a male it's hard to find a good barber that can cut hair, and Lisa cuts my hair every time to perfection. It looked lovely inside and seemed to be the kind of place I frequented back in the Bay Area. The receptionist (?) was curt and gave me a very pointed once-over. She said curtly that she would take my name and number and let the stylists know. A stylist would call me when they had an availability.
