After trying on numerous pairs of sunglasses, I finally decided on a pair of Maui Jim's. The polarized lenses in the pair that I selected are truly remarkable. They offer a crisp and clear visual field. They also greatly enrich the natural red and orange colors which are often subdued in the natural landscapes of Sonoma County. Dr. Chiang's staff were all very cordial and informative in helping me make my final selection. They took extra care in cleaning up the lenses and making sure that the glasses fit comfortably. I would like to first say, Sonoma Eye Works was who had referred me to you to repair my Tom Fords, being that you were one of the only retail locations in this area. This is why I came to you in the first place. I figured since I would be taking these in to be fixed, I would at the same time take in my Chanel sunglasses to also be repaired. No, I have not purchased anything from you previously, but I really did not feel that it mattered in the end if I was coming I to have the lenses replaced. I was bringing them in, not under warranty, but to have you make the repairs, and for me to pay you a fair price for this service. I was told when I left them that you "would get back to me with pricing". I left the store with not even a receipt that you had them both in your possession. A full week had come and gone and I had heard nothing! I called back and the woman who answered the phone was mortified, and told me she was very sorry that no one had done anything on them yet, nor had any phone calls been placed to your reps for researching out replacement at that time. she assured me that she would get right on it, and phone me back with pricing once she received the information. To her credit, she did call me back an hour later and left me a voicemail message with pricing. I fail to see how hours of research were done, as it only took her an hour to get back to me! After I received her pricing, I told her no way!!! And for a reason!!! The pricing I was given on my Chanel glasses was for you to make them in house, not to find authentic lenses (because they are no longer available!). The cost was $265, which is insane!!! I went back to Sonoma Eye Works, which is whom replaced them the first time and it was $30. Within 2 minutes they told me that they were unable to get authentic lenses because they no longer made them. But they did tell me they could craft new lenses in house, which they did for $80 and they were ready 2 hours later!!! As for the Tom Ford glasses, I was pushed to consider just buying new ones as the quoted price for repair was over $300! Which again, was ridiculous!!! I did consider purchasing a new pair, as I was told that your Tom Ford line was 50% off. That was until I got a gander of the initial pricing to begin with (they were double of what I would pay elsewhere! So the 50% off was nothing off at all in the grand scheme of things!). I did contact Tom Ford directly, and they replaced the lenses for free! So in the end, I don't feel bad for anything said or done. I do not feel bad that your employees did their job. I am sorry if that is offensive, but it is a reality, not an excuse for bad service! It is my right as a consumer to give an honest review, and this is what I have done!
