The path is easy to follow and makes for a relaxing walk while enjoying the scenery around the park. After we got off our bus, we were shepherded to a three minute or so talk about how seeds grow into pumpkins, with rules of the pumpkin field (don't pick the green pumpkins!). And then the kids were given plastic pumpkins bags and let loose on the field. I also appreciated that this was an actual pumpkin field and not just a spot of ground where pre-picked pumpkins are strewn about. It was a bit muddy that day, but that didn't seem to dampen the fun. My son picked a great, small pumpkin to bring home with him. After that we stowed our pumpkins and grabbed our lunches, which we ate in a picnic pavilion. The only thing I'd caution with this is that the bathrooms, which are port 'o' potties, are in another area, and there weren't great options for washing dirty hands before eating. After we ate, we had about 20 minutes to play. The Family Fun Park boasts an expansive playing area with giant farm animals figures, diminutive play houses that kids can walk through, other playground equipment and bounce house-like trampolines. It was just enough activity to then make the bus ride back quiet, with several kids napping in their seats. I'm not sure the kids learned a lot on this trip, but it was fun and enjoyed by pretty much everyone who came along.

At the very entrance of the site is an exterior building and fenced off play area labeled "family fun park". The price is $6 a person to enter for anyone over the age of 12. And while they do have lots of cool things to see and experience for little ones anyone over the age of 12 will feel a smidge bit shafted as majority is aimed at the very young kids. That said it is a great value for kids under the age of 12. Very imaginative and massive sized playgrounds and play sets, a beautiful koi pond, wagon rides, inflatable bounces, tricycle races, a huge tunnel slide, bamboo mazes and corn mazes. There truly is a lot to do. My kiddos loved the houses sized doll houses to play in. The tire slide was popular as well as the small bounce inflatables. The bamboo maze and corn maze were relatively small and easy to navigate sticking to the young age theme but they were still eat. Especially the bamboo maze as I've never seen one of those before. I kinda wish the pricing was better and fair for adults or teens. Like my 13 year old was bummed as most things had size and age restrictions. But we still had good fun here and spent 2-3 hours playing. So it ultimately is a good value for the little ones .

We have a pop-up with air conditioning, and that's how we've rolled for 5-10 years. But then my son joined Cub Scouts, and so I've had to break out the tent a few times. This preface is intended to give you some idea of my camping experience and where I'm coming from. Our latest scout overnight was here at Tunnel Mill. We were assigned a nice wide space with a small roofed-over picnic area, a fire pit, latrines, and water. We were in the Sequoia site, and the whole area had a slight slant. If you are picky about a perfectly flat camp site, then pick another. The site was free of litter and had a decent amount of shade from the tall trees surrounding the clearing we were in. It was a pleasant place to camp. As far as facilities, there were outhouse-style latrines in our camping area and bathrooms with running water (sink and toilet only) a short walk away. These bathrooms were in a shabby state of repair. One sink I used to wash up and brush my teeth had no drain pipe. The used water just emptied onto the ground and flowed toward the floor drain. The playground area was mostly in good shape. The kids had a blast there for a couple hours. They have this large wooden pirate ship thing the kids can run all over. When we were there, there was some safety fencing preventing anyone was walking onto a small area of the pirate ship with some rotten floor planks. There were holes that could have easily turned someone's ankle, so I was grateful they fenced it off. We camped in late April and found a couple ticks on ourselves. Bug spray and regular inspections for bites are good ideas. Overall, we had a very positive experience here. We only spent one night, but it was comfortable and just right for our scouts and the adults. But you do need to adjust your expectations in certain areas since this is a volunteer-run place. Unlike a KOA or Jellystone or some other for-profit campground, this place has to make do with what it has and what it can get in terms of labor and materials. So yes, some things needed repair, but everything important was clean.

As a first timer, I didn't think to protect my keys. I came out and my car wouldn't start. I asked if they could assist with a jump and they were willing but realized my battery was fine. The guy mentioned my key fob (apparently if water get in it can disable the sensor leading the car to not recognize the key). He took it upon himself to go use a device to dry my keys out for me. Our hero!

From Louisville takes about 45 minutes, easy drive and through beautiful farm land. We were picked up at the pull out, easy and careful. We took our own kayaks and paid for the service fee. Rooster's down the way was the perfect place to have dinner after a trip down the river. We hope to make this a tradition and return for a scenic, peaceful and calm trip down the river.

This is a beautiful golf course located in hunting Creek and Prospect Kentucky. I've never had…read moreenough money to join the membership or golf here but my family and I have written on golf carts around the golf course and saw a lot of people hit the balls over the years so I feel like I can review this and I've walked up and down the trails and saw the beautiful course. Just west of downtown Salem is a very nice park. It has basketball courts, a shelter, a relaxation…read morearea and an old school playground. But what makes this park special is an area called Riley's Place. Riley's is a playground that is made with dark stained wooden towers, ramps, and equipment. After parking along the street, there is a ramp into the area which is surrounded by a short wooden barrier. Most of the park is elevated with a mulch base underneath and in the open areas. There are more towers than I could count, swings, climbing areas, and an assortment of objects made from wood (cars, turtle, musical instruments). The park seemed to be in good shape though I think the drainage of the open areas could have been a bit better. The parking is very limited to street parking (and not on both sides of the road), so hosting an event here would be difficult. Overall, it's a nice park with a uniqueness that you won't find elsewhere in the area. Review #2918
