The store is relatively small, but has everything you need. I think the whole organic food scene is still not super transparent and for me it all depends on the items I am getting. I generally like to buy organic fruits (especially when you eat the peal), but the ones I bought here sadly were all still pretty sour (except the apples). The staff was friendly though and the store very organized.

You should not shop late on a Saturday because they could be out of certain things and not re-stock until Monday. I'm also not sure why the water their vegetables. It makes them look fresher but I sometimes think the water also aids the molding when it sits there in a box all day. What really puzzles me each time is the sometimes sooooo chilled and relaxed staff. The cassiers are usually not so bad, but some of them are like in constant state of slow-motion. With no offense (of course), but it seems like the perfect job for stoners. I know sometimes it's nice to take it easy, but in service I'm not sure I agree with it. The store is nice, but I don't want to waste time there - it's not that nice. :-) Getting bread usually takes a lot of time too - don't be surprised to wait up to 10 minutes if there are five people in front of you. Still a good supermarket for all things organic, just make sure you're not in a rush. Different rules apply in there. ;-)

Bio Company is the Whole Foods of Germany, and I dig it. There are lots of fake meat products…read moreavailable here that can't be found at regular grocery stores, and they are priced much cheaper than at smaller health food or organic stores. This location is the smallest Bio Company one I have visited. I imagine that's because it is in the middle of a tourist area, with very little residential places in sight. But I am glad it exists. The smoked tofu that I love almost always seems to be on sale, the breads are delicious and priced around the same as the lesser-quality bakeries in the area (who raised prices, it feels like, passed on location), and there is hardly ever a long wait or line, or people in the way, blocking aisles. This makes the location ideal. Of course, I don't live near here, nor is it my closest Bio Company, but it's a short jaunt from work which makes me happy. I will certainly walk the extra 5 minutes beyond F'n'F to get better prices and a better selection

Alnatura is the worst organic food chain in my opinion. They have a habit of selling products that…read moresimply don't work (at least according to my personal experiences). I fell for it again today when I bought a can of "herb spread". When you try to open the can with using the ring that's attached to it, the ring simply becomes detached, so in the end there is no way to open the can. This doesn't happen with DM products. And I have encountered many other problems with Alnatura, as well. For example, their paper bags tend to rupture immediately when you leave the cashier, even when you only bought a few items...

The prices are also pretty good, considering. Although I get my Alnatura essentials either at DM or in bulk through a co-op, this store is still legit. As I am one of the unlucky people with millions of allergies the Bio Company is my friend in need…read more I use to do lots of my shopping there when I am in Berlin as they stock a variety of Gluten free products from Pasta, Baking goods, etc but the best they do sell Gluten Free Beer which is not that easy to get In Zehlendorf. Their bakery station sells 2 kind of Gluten free bread and a bag of 5 fresh Gluten free Rolls. Both are a bit pricey but it's a nice alternative to my daily rice or corn cakes as I fear to turn in one of the two soon! So if you look for fresh, organic food the Bio Company does a pretty good job for it in Zehlendorf. Another plus is, after they renovated the entire shop last year their café become more appealing too but I have to stay my 5 star ranking is due to the GF Beer !
